Around the NFL (Week 2)
Anyone else watching this right now??? Its 21 to nothing Bucs over the Saints. I wonder if all the crap that people say about the Saints is true. Maybe last year was a fluke because they look LOST on both sides of the ball right now. Garcia is making them look likle crap. The Saints scondary looks like a 2006 'Skins Secondary right now. Ugh.

Re: Saints Game
This can go in the Locker Room. Moving it now
And yeah, I'm shocked. Not to merge threads but....if prayer actually does work, you'd think it would work for the Saints ;) Seriously though, how about the Texans and the Browns as well? Derek Anderson already has 3 TD passes! |
Re: Saints Game
They over archived last year...plus this is the NFL, good one year, bottom feeding the next year.
|
Re: Saints Game
I thought they were a bit over hyped, but better than this. They are making Tampa Bay look like a playoff team right now. Plus I don't know if reality can stand up to back to back Saints playoff appearances.

Re: Saints Game
28-0 Bucs now. Wow!
|
Re: Saints Game
Going to update the thread title to allow us to talk about more games

The Texans are really surprising me. Matt Schaub looks like the real deal and Omobi Okoye has 2 sacks on the day. How about Jamal Lewis lighting up the Bengals' defense? |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Looks like the Giants are on their way to 0-2
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
yeah im enjoying the giants getting their asses kicked..
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Yeah Smooty, they are playing uninspired football.

A little luck and we could be 2-0 this week and BOTH the Eagles and Midgets being 0-2. Then next week, we make it 3-0, and the midgets 0-3. Anyone remember the year (1991?) Joe promised the guys one day off for every win prior to the bye date, and they were 7-0? Nice motivator, that Gibbs fellow J-Dawg |

They could use anybody who can play just a little defense. Where's LaVar? 45 points against the Cowboys last week, 35 thus far today, not looking good for the G-men. |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
The Giants won't win more than 6 games this year.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
51-38 Browns vs Bengals... and still 6 Minutes... crazy...

By my math, Lavar earned $667,000 per tackle he actually made in NY. That was the biggest rip off in sports until OJ tried to get "his" stuff back. J-Dawg |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Go Green Bay. They aren't looking too bad and now the G-men are 0-2. Looks good.
If the Fins can beat the Boys and we can handle the Eagles this will be an amazing weekend for me. |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Damn, Browns over Bengals.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Yeah, the Giants got their asses kicked, and I loved it. What a great way for Favre to get the most games won record. I was suprised by the Browns-Bengals, but when those two teams meet something extraordinary usually happens. It's not every day Carson Palmer throws 6 touchdown passes but still loses the game.
I haven't seen much of the Dallas-Miami game, but last I checked the score was 3-0 in favor of Miami, n the 1st quarter was ending. If Miami wins I will love it lol. And how about those Texans? They actually look pretty good this year. |

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Man, if the Bengals D can make Derek Anderson look that good, I wonder what kinda numbers JC and Portis would put up against them lol. Derek Anderson with 5 touchdowns and 1 pick, and Jamal Lewis going over 200 yards? Sheesh.

so I won't. Anyway, heres an observation as not to waste a post on self promoting garbage: the Chiefs are probably the worst team in a few years. Yes, that includes the 2004 Bears and 2006 Raiders. |

Theres no rhyme or reason or way to predict it happening, it just happens from time to time.
The Browns benefited big from this today. |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Miami goes on top of Dallas 13-10.

so I won't.
GTripp, tooting your own horn? You don't say. ;) I didn't understand the Schaub trade since he had played so sparingly in regular season games. It's not that I thought that Schaub was a bad QB, it's that I thought there was such a little basis upon which one could judge the guy. What tapes were the Texans personnel people looking at? His college tapes from 5 years ago? The preseason? Still, it looks like he might be the real deal. |

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
HOW BOUT THEM Gi-nots
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Gawl dang Cowboys! I hate Romo but I've got to admire his ability to keep a play alive when it breaks down.
|
Saints are the Aints again?
With the amazing blow out vs the Colts in week one, and now the loss to the Bucs 31-14, this team looks like they are one of the worst in the NFC.
Thoughts? |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Wow, Trent Green was quite on target with his passes today. The only problem was, he was throwing to the wrong team!
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Trent Green looked aweful from the little I watched. The PUKES are on there way to a 2-0 start. No help from Miami on this one.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
I hate to say it, but the Cowboys....man I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Cowboys appear to be the real deal. Ugh! Man that hurts to say!
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Oh man that's gotta be a heartbreaking interception for Kellen Clemens. 3 times he would've tied the game up but McCareins let the ball slip through his hands twice, and Coles didn't make the other catch. I'll give him credit though, he came on really strong in the second half, and it looks like he has a really good future ahead of him.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
You know, there are other games that happened this week other than the Cowboys.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Man, Mike Shanahan just screwed over the raiders, lol.
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
ohhhhhh that was nice. Raiders went for the game winner in overtime, Seabass kicked it, straight down the middle, but milliseconds before the ball was snapped Denver called a timeout so the kick didn't count. Then, on the same play again, Seabass kicked it but it hit the left upright and bounced out. That's gotta f'n suck so bad.
And now Denver is driving and they are on the Raiders 49 yard line. |
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
Janikowski hits a 52 yard field goal in OT...but Shanahan called a TO first...retry hits the pole, no good...classic!
|
Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
yeah Denver is about to win this game, they are on the Raiders 30ish yard line, n Jason Elam is pretty much good from any distance, so essentially the Raiders are screwed, unless they can stop Denver on third down now.
