Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
I have been concerned with Jasons inconsistancy, but tonite I thought he played great,he finished 16-29 but could have easily been 19-29 if not for some drops, that first long pass to Cooley was a thing of beauty,Cooley's drop wasnt.I thought this was Jason's best game as a skin,to come out on mnf against a tuff eagles defense,he showed a lot of poise and I was impressed with him tonite

Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Even better because McNabb is one of Campbell's heroes.
PS, guess what -- the postgame coverage is focusing on what's wrong with Philly! LMFAO. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
if he hits that last pass to Moss then yeah.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
If he would have hit Moss at the end there I would have crowned him, but he was a little too shaky tonight at times, probably just some MNF jitters.
Overall a good game from JC though. It's fun to watch him develop. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
He's still got some growing pains to go through, but I think a win like this is a good confidence booster for him.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
If you're going to crown him, then crown his ass.
Sorry, I had to say it... |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
It's not his coming out party because we'll have to win many more games before the media gives us any love.

No doubt. Monday night. Division game. On the road. That's a BIG win for a young QB. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
I agree about the Moss pass--that's a game winner, and we're all feeling like gods. Wide open.
But he played well, and that pass to Cooley was a thing of beauty. And again, I was impressed at how he bounced back after the INT. We won again even though we lost the turnover battle. That's hard to do "up here" as JG would say. Gotta get some TOs to make things easier on ourselves! Dallas had FIVE take aways--that's how you score over 20 points. (Also, I liked the shots of Jason's eyes looking off DBs--that's a VERY good sign. It'll come--just not quite yet. But he led us into Philly on Monday night and got a W. That's something that's been very hard for us to do for quite a while.) |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
The true coming out party would be a trounce against the Cowboys. Just sayin...
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
comin out party??? isnt that what gay people have?
I love the way the guys are dressed in the post game interviews by the way... ties and jackets, sweaters, it looks good... |

Sure, but if there's a silver lining in there it's that he overthrew him, and you could tell it was 100% giddy jitters when he realized how open Santana was. It was the QB equivalent of a WR dropping a pass because he's thinking about how he's going to break it to the endzone before he actually had the ball in his hands. I doubt he'll make that mistake again, and the fact that he well overthrew it was quite a display of that arm cannon he's got ;) |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
This kid is going to be a star in this league! We finally have a solid QB
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
He's not quite there yet. But you can see why they gave up draft picks to get him. His raw ability is is ridicules.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Let's just say that when we had a false start on third down and were backed up to 3rd and long, I was almost happy because I knew Jason Campbell was going to have to pass. He hit on a lot of 3rd and longs tonight it seems to me.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
You know he's got something when TV analysts (emphasis on "anal") are giving some love to a Skins QB.

Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
I really do think this was his coming out party. Despite the fact that he didn't have a particularly great game, he made plays when he had to and showed some nice poise. The NFLN crew was talking about him after the game, and they were giving him absolutely nothing but love. He's gonna start getting more national media attention after tonight.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Tonight was a big step for JC, but in no way was that a coming out party, he's still throwing behind receivers, as well under throwing them, the fact that he was known for accuracy in college tells me that the game still has to slow down for him, same on that deep pass to Moss, I think he will at some point later in the season start hitting those passes, but he is still learning. It's so nice to watch this team without Brunell I actually believe we are finally progressing as an offense, nice job by JC in a tough environment.

And the praise starts rolling in. Hell, even Len Pastabelly is jumping on the bandwagon. [caption] Jason Campbell's steady hand helped the Eagles improve to 2-0. [/caption] Now all ESPN needs to do is learn what team he's playing for. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Nice game for Campbell against one of his mentors, McNabb. McNabb looked pretty immobile tonight.

Mike Greene of Mike & Mike said this morning that Campbell looked like he would be really good & he "didn't see it coming." Golic also gave him props. I think this was his coming out party, cause a lot of analysts & fans don't get to see 5-11 teams like us last year. MNF gives the nation a chance to see. The kid's got work to do, but a lot of his improvement is just going to come w/game experience. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Adam Schefter on NFLN was giving JC some nice praise last night. I think those outside of D.C. are starting to see what we've already known about him. The kid is going to be good, really good.

Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
I have high hopes for Jason, and he played well last night. He's still 1 TD, 3 INTs on the season, so I am just guardedly optimistic.

Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
Yeah ESPN has been making a lot of mistakes lol, but they were praising JC so i'll take it.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
He did ok, Brunell wouldn't have overthrown Moss though. :)
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
On a side note, my boy Rogers had a good game!!!
Say what you will about the possible pick, but he was shutting them down. |

I thought the same thing! I cant remember EVER thinking that in the past, seems like Campbell was coming through when we needed it |

I knew i couldnt of been the only one to feel that way. I too was out right glad to see they HAD to throw the ball, and had a little more room to do so. Jason is the real deal and its about time the REDSKINS had a Solid QB to build on. Its a great time to be a REDSKIN. Hail to the REDSKINS... Hail to Joe Gibbs.. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
How good he'll end up being I'm not sure, but he's definitely a legit NFL starter, and that's something we haven't had in a long time.
|
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
He did ok, Brunell wouldn't have overthrown Moss though. :)
Yeah... and with all the third and longs, Washington would have been 4-15 on third down instead of 8-15, had Brunell been the starter. |

you mean brunell couldn't have overthrown Moss... |

You hit it exactly. The growing pains will happen, but as long as it happens during a win, he'll be able to recover and learn from it. If Washington was 0-2 right now, half of Redskins fans would be screaming for his head. |
Re: Was This Jason C's Coming Out Party?
In both games Jason and the entire team for that matter played better and better as the game went on. That's something we did not do last year.
Also Jason has a short memory. That's great. After a mistake he just forgets about it and keeps going. |
