Things to look forwards too after bye
We will gain an extra WR-Reche Caldwell (he can't be any worse than BL) DeMulling will have a couple of weeks to learn the offense, A couple of weeks to heal bumps and bruises. This will also give them time to make adjustments of Offense and Defense.

joe gibbs and al saunders getting their heads out of their asses..watching the skins blow today's game was worse than having teeth pulled.

It was Springs who gave up the big play to Burress. Carlos played Burress very well if you ask me, especially considering Burress's size. |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
The passing game actually working. That'd be a freakin miracle.
JC honing his accuracy and decision making. LESS PENALTIES. Those false start calls on Rabach KILLED us. Even though we converted them, when its 3rd down with like a little over a minute left, you can't make those kinda mistakes. And for the love of football God, some more aggressive playcalling! |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
I'd settle for our offense pulling thier head out of their asses and actually play the game! I wish I had seen more of Betts tonight, Portis just doesnt do it for me anymore.....gonna get a lot of hate for that statement but I'm saying it anyway. I just can't help but feel disgusted by the lack of offense the second half of the game. Penalties again in the last minute of the freaking game are unacceptable (!!!) but at the same time the Skins failed to convert points on those crutial turnovers they nailed. Thank god its a bye week....we need it!

that was actually rogers who got a piece of jersey and got juked (as well as taylor) by burress which resulted in the go-ahead touchdown.. |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
That was his one mistake. As I said before Burress is a big dude. Carlos isn't so big. It's hard to take Burress down and it's not Carlos' fault Sean Taylor got juked by the same move!

Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
Defense was just on the field too much tonight. Hopefully we can get this thing fixed in the next two weeks and not come out laying another egg at home against an inferior Detriot Lion team. Things start to get really tough after Detroit, we are gonna need all the wins we can get before the Oct/Nov stretch of BRUTAL games.

The Detroit Lions defense.

Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
I hope to look forward to less whiney fans after the bye.

LOL good luck with that one |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
No excuse about losing in the fashion we did today. We had that team beat and sat on our collective asses second half with the lack of imagination of the Skin braintrust. If we don't get any kind of pass rush we can get burned by the Lions. THe Lions D is not all that bad, all you have to look at is the Giants D from today, and the Lions can better their performance. I do look forward to a much more agressive game plan and hopefully better adjustments with regards to different blitz packages to keep Kitna throwing bad passes or better ending up lying on his back!!!!!!

Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
You forgot to mention we can all look forward to some more conservative playcalling against a team with one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. I'm sure Portis and Betts and Sellers will have plenty of catches two weeks from now. I hope we come out trying to attack the Lions' secondary but it probably won't happen.

We damn well better be "conservative" (as the young'ns like to call it). Last thing I want is that Detroit offense on the field for the majority of the game. Keep it out of their hands. Control the clock, win the game. If I didn't care about the Skins, I'd say I hope they throw it 50 times and get blown out and then see what everyone here has to complain about next. |

I'm fine with getting a little conservative early and controlling the clock and scoring points, but if we get a good lead, say anywhere from 7-14 points, we need to put the game away and make sure they can't come back on us. The Lions have a very potent passing offense but their offensive line isn't good, which means we need to get in some pressure on Kitna and force him into bad decisions. Overall though there isn't any reason as to why we should lose this game. |

Well yeah, run, run, play-action pass. Thing is we have to complete those passes. Had we done that this week we'd probably be looking at 3-0. But since we didn't there's the perception that we didn't even try. |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
It was tough to watch todays loss live, but if I know Gibbs you'll see a different team in week 5. In Gibbs I trust and HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
|
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
Gibbs has been doing the same thing for 4 seasons now, if any one thinks your going to see a change after the bye week your only kidding yourself.
|
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
Perhaps I'm kidding myself, but this is the first season under Gibbs starting Campbell as the man. If you don't believe in Gibbs then perhaps you should check out Home Page - Philadelphia Eagles.
In Gibbs We Trust! Campbell is the real deal. First QB in over 10 years that can make it happen! Stay tuned! |

A lose that should have been an easy victory. Trust him all you want, if it wasen't for his previous success he would be the absolute laughing stock on this site, as well as the rest of the NFL. Gibbs has been getting a free pass for way to long it's a new era and he left what ever he had with his first retirement. |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
I won't feed into your fear...
Keep the faith. Hail to the Redskins! You got another coach in here we're hiring Albert Connell's. Suck it up. |

The Detroit Lions period. :D |
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
a win. nothing more nothing less...
|
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
my beef with rogers stems from his tendency to give up that big completion on seemingly every third down..not just yesterdays performance.....this is an excellent topic/post though....

Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
I'm looking forwad too the Redskins making a run to the playoffs. Where still 2&1 and will be 3&1 after we play the Lions.
|
Re: Things to look forwards too after bye
While on the bye, maybe yall should look into picking up Mark Rypien and have him call some plays Like Jason Garret. lol
