What happed To Kedric Golston
I cant believe that Kedric was inactive. I thought he was so good. Does Anyone have any info on what might have happened?

Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
Inactive..damn, that's news to me

Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
The Redskins decided that since Golston's strength is run-stopping, and the Lions are a pass happy team to deactivate Golston for today, and suit up Chris Wilson, and also suit up 5 WRs

They have siuted up Chris Wilson every game. Lorenzo Alexander took his place and played alot. |

Sorry, I meant play Wilson more, not specifically just suit up. Good point about Lorenzo though |
Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
I never thought about the fact that he is better against the run, but I hope he is not in the dog house because once you get there you never come back. Just ask Loydd an Archulletta.

How could I forget my favorite Redskin Arrington.

Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
I guess Montgomery has moved ahead of him on the depth chart.

That happened before the season started though |

God not him again...... |
Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
I was surprised, but Golston has to become more consistent. Last year he was good, but not great. He was a rookie and he overachieved and probably starting feeling a little too good about himself. On the other hand Montgomery has freaked out and surprised everyone. How lucky are we right now. That big boy is playing his role so darn good.

Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
From Washington Post Article:
'Defensive tackle Kedric Golston, was inactive. He is primarily a run stopper, and the Redskins, who had only seven active defensive linemen, apparently wanted as many speed rushers as possible against the Lions.' -http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/07/AR2007100700820.html |
Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
with a 53 man roster, do we have space for someone thats a specialist?

Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
I think we need Lorenzo Alexander, Chris Wilson and Golston active every game day

I agree. Cut the punter. :Smoker: Golston sees significant minutes at DT normally. As has been stated, his strngths are in run-stopping - which is usually about 60% of the plays we face. Since Detroit is amazingly pass-happy, he sat, and we gave valuable experience to Chris Wilson and Lorenzo Alexander. |
Re: What happed To Kedric Golston
Chris Wilson looked good. He gets upfield quickly but seems to lack that closing move to get out of the lineman's grip & to the qb. I can definitely see him improving as a pass rusher as the season goes on.
Washington looked good rushing the qb as well. We're not going to be able to do that against a lot of teams, but we are starting to get some consistent pressure from the d-line. Carter had a monster game. |
