Famous Redskins Fans
OK, I am not a NASCAR fan... so if this is known... forgive me...
Just saw Dale Jr. going to the game wearing a Skins hat on ESPN. |
Re: Dale Jr. is a Redskin Fan
Yes he is a big fan.
|
Re: Dale Jr. is a Redskin Fan
Yeah, he's a big Skins fan. He was at training camp in 2005 or 2006.
During the race last week, Earnhardt radioed in to check the score of the Skins/Lions game. His guy replied "14-3, Skins on top". E's reply? "Hell yeah..." I composed this list of famous Skins fans last year. http://www.redskinswarpath.com/196890-post6.html |

I did and decided instead of starting a whole new thread why not just add to this one. 3. The other two (I think it was two) threads that were locked or merged were because they were duplicates. Either search on your own, or trust the mods to do their job 4. Any other issues, PM a mod 5. Katie Holmes |

Re: Famous Redskins Fans
*edit - Smootsmack beat me to it.
|
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
So why was this thread bumped?
|
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
I think Dirtyskin21 created a new thread (all the while complaining his threads always get merged/massaged by the mods) about celeb fans. SmootSmack merged his new thread with this old one, which bumped this old one.
|
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
Gene Hackman? How was this verified?

NO actually, I made a thread, and it was locked and sayed to refer to "Dale Earnhardt Jr is a redskin fan" But that wasn't my thread, and no one would have seen my post if the title wasn't changed. My thread was never merged, I copy and pasted my thread that got closed onto a post in here. I asked the MOD if the title of the thread could be changed, and if you don't know what's going, you shouldn't open your mouth. Next time just let things you dont know about, be. It was a good try though. |
Gene Hackman? How was this verified?
Gene Hackman was the coach in the Replacements, of course he's a fan!! Seriously though, who knows how half of these were "verified" |
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
BTW - good lookin out SmootSmack on changin the thread title and all. Now the thread looks like it should.

Re: Famous Redskins Fans
Never saw 'The Replacements'. Someone else said it was based loosely on the Redskins.
I do know that Gene Hackman wore a Redskins coat in a movie with Dan Ackroyd -- the plot took place in D.C. "Loose Cannons" was the movie -- a cinematic masterpiece I might add. |

Seriously though, who knows how half of these were "verified"
Alot of them have been verified through personal experience. People have seen these celebs state they are redskin fans, or they have said something like "how bout those redskins" after we have beaten dallas which verifies they are skin fans. When famous people get season tickets someone is bound to see them and then thats how these get out. I dont think people try to hide who they root for. lol |

Re: Famous Redskins Fans
Hackman also narrated the 1987 Redskins America's Game

No seriously, Enemy of the State |

I remember having to scuba dive in the quary they shot they very first scene of that movie in. You know when the trophy is underwater? that's a quary in Virginia. I got my scuba diving license about 8-9 years ago and in order to get your license you have to go through 2 weeks of classroom tests and stuff, then you gotta do the pool tests and then they teach you how to use your equipment in the water in the pool, and in order to get your license you have to complete 3 dives and we had to go to that Quary. I dont remember exactly where it was but it was COLD and its preyy cool, its surrounded by huge rocks. |
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
The Replacements movie is a comedy which was made and released in 2000. the film follows the fortunes of a group of football players who have been brought from various walks of life to replace the striking professional football players. The film was roughly based on the strike by NFL players in 1987.
|
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
The movie is notset in 1987. It is not based on the 1987 players strike, other than the fact that in 1987 there was a players strike and they used replacements. At no point does the movie say "Based on a True Story", nor do they EVER reveal the year to be 1987. Similarly, this movie is not set in the NFL, but rather an unnamed fictional league (much like in "Any Given Sunday"). They never mention the NFL, you never see the NFL logo. Therefore, any "mistake" which references a NFL rule or team is not a mistake at all, since the rules and teams in this fictional league may be different from the NFL.

Wikipedia says Dan Marino appeared in one of their videos. I think Hootie likes the fins.

i think that's the way he operates. jumped all over me the other thread, because we disagreed |
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
FYI if you watch the bonus features of the Replacements on DVD it explains that the NFL did not want to support a comedy about the 1987 strike. Almost no team in the NFL would allow the Filmmakers to use their stadium with the excecption of Baltimore. To paraphase what the Ravens owner said "Nobody in the league likes me anyway, so you can use my stadium to make your movie". It was about the 1987 Players strike and the Skins, but the names were changed to protect the not so innocent.

Yes, this is because the NFL would not authrorize the movie... even the last game was based on the strike, with the Cowgirls getting back most of their players - and played against the all scab Redskin team... and LOOSING :food-smil |
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
I saw the guitar player of Hootie and the Blowfish at a Skins game 2 years ago. Skins -vs- Eagles. He was tossing a football and tailgating right next my tailgating group. I'd say HE's a Skins fan.
Darius Rucker I think likes the Dolphins. |
Re: Famous Redskins Fans
yeah I think one of those hootie douches wore a skins hat in some of their videos
