The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
What a shock. Careful all, she sounds quite aroused.
washingtonpost.com - nation, world, technology and Washington area news and headlines "Perfect Tommy is chasing perfection. You can see that in his perfect eye black, so straight it looks like he puts it on with a ruler, and those perfect passes traveling along their javelin-straight paths downfield. But never mind the perfect jaw, and the perfect hair, and the perfectly modest and self-effacing attitude. Those are just the externals. It's the internals that make Tom Brady so good, and frankly what he has in his guts isn't nearly so handsome. It's a taste not just for perfection but for total defeat, and it's something that his opposite, young Jason Campbell, will learn from, once he gets over the humiliation." |
Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
Ha! I totally was going to mention this--OF COURSE this is the week she rears her ugly head. To tell us how great the Pats are and how bad we are. Thanks, Sal. And the WPost pays you to do this?
Someone like JLC or Wilbon or Boswell are entitled to rip on the skins when they do bad because they also write on the good things. But Sally only comes out to rip. Salt on the wounds Sally. Thanks. |
Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
thanks sally we all appreciate your honesty,really....

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
LOL, it's time for the annual 'Redskins get blown out, Sally Jenkins states the obvious, adds a little hot sauce and everyone calls for her to be fired' thread..

I really hate this lady and think she is a horrible journalist. But honestly this was right on point. |

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
I love how, before last week, the word most frequently used to describe what J-Cam brings to this team was "composure", yet now all the journo's are taking shots at that and questioning that composure.

Dude, you do realize that this is a Redskins fan site, right? To not expect us to get pissed with a woman like Sally is a little unrealistic. |
Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
I think the "lol" indicates that Pain does indeed realize this is redskins fan site.

Of course I do.. Did you read the article? She's right out of sportswriter 101, restate the obvious (Brady is good, Redskins organization pales in comparison to Patriots organization), insert some inflammatory rhetoric to fire up the masses (digs at Campbell's poise), retreat to cozy NY apartment and watch the fireworks.. She does it every year and ever since I've been a memeber of the board I've seen a thread like this.. |
Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
She can be pretty annoying at times I agree, she was right on a few points though I do not always agree with her.

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
Forget Jane Fonda, Sally Jenkins=Commie Bitch

thanks and i for one really don,t care for those in the media who try to start stuff to get a story for their papers.but if it makes her feel better about things going on in her life then good for her... just trying to call it like i see it and she is no different. thanks |

Yeah I read it. Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted your earlier post. |
Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
The point is not that Jenkins made some correct (though obvious) observations. The point is, where was she after the Detroit game? After Philly? Why now and not (also) then? Every season she writes a few pieces and, by amazing coincidence, it's after loses. That's my issue.
BTW, I don't read her on principle. Stating the obvious after a loss does not good reporting make--and this is NOT, by a long shot, the first time. I just don't see what she brings to the paper, at least as far as the skins go. |

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
I can't really say I'm a Sally hater, but this is a really, REALLY poor piece of work. Seriously, what insight, or take, or position, can you get from this column?! Tom Brady is playing tremendous football, and Jason Campbell will learn from his sideline-viewing of Brady's work? Do tell. How about taking a position? Go out on a limb, and say that Campbell has the skills to be that good one day, or say the opposite, but SAY SOMETHING. Does Sally feel like writing columns is a pain in the ass? It's one thing if you have to strictly report the facts of an event that you might be covering, but having a column is the opportunity to vent any position you might have, more than once a week in some cases, and this is what she came up with?!
She also mentions Gibbs' three Super Bowl wins. What I would I not give to have a Washington writer or tv or radio sports reporter NOT mention the distant past. The current team and organization have NO connection to those teams, and the consistent references to them make us look pathetic. |

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
to be honest, Sally gets paid to stir the hornets' nest when it comes to Redskins fans. With that said, she's doing her job and doing it very well. Forget the fact that her commentaries are usually uninspiring and predictable, it's what the media likes to do because the Redskins organization is such an easy target.

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
Anybody can be a reporter to be honest. Just have a decent command of the written word(grammar, spelling, etc), and you can be a journalist. Remember that FEMA press conference about the California wildfires? The FEMA plants asked questions that were no different than what the morons in the mainstream media would have asked, but the members of the media fumed over it. THe media is full of morons. Just look at Foxsports.com sportswriters and those fantasy football writers. They just state the obvious. Although I have to give Adam Shein of Foxsports.com his due for once. He did predict a huge Pats- Skins blowout. The whole thing about getting a degree in Journalism is a big waste of time. Some of the best writers today do not have a Journalism degree. Sally Jenkins is proof of that. She probably has a degree to get into the Post, but isn't very original in her reporting or writing. There lies the problem, no originality at all, which is so commonplace with todays reporters/newspeople.
