Re: Jimmy Farris apparently coming home

It's a done deal. There aren't too many choices out there this time of the season. Who knows, with his "existing" grasp of our offense, he may be able to contribute. Look at this way, we most likely won't pay him $10 million for a little over a dozen catches...or will we?

We've already picked up Caldwell and McCardell. There is no one else out there that knows our system.

You know for as much as i dislike him, Keyshawn Johnson would be someone that we could use...let me rephrase...a KJ type WR. A big WR that will catch anything thrown at him and someone who runs good routes. If KJ didn't have a mouth and was a team guy i'd say yes, but he does and he isn't. He doesn't know the system either. We could use KJ type though.

Yea and while where at it why not bring back Michael Westbrook.

While I’m not thrilled about bringing back Farris I really don’t see what other option we had. Except maybe Mike Williams.

Am I taking crazy pills or did La Canfora say in his blog that Jimmy Farris was at Terrell Owens' house the night of the not a suicide attempt? It really is a small world.

No Thanks to Mike "Big Bust" Williams his own college coach released him he must be pretty bad now.

But can't Saunders teach anyone his system in 20 min?

Williams was the shit at USC. The only reason he didn't play his last year there was because he tried to enter the draft early and made himself ineligible. Pete Carol would have loved to let him play but couldn’t because of NCAA rules. Williams was really never that fast just big and strong and it really shows at this level.

Yeah, He'd be kicking Betts and Portis' asses in practice.

Beggars can't be choosers, I'm afraid. Jimmy was a decent preseason guy for us. Not a lot of options, at this point.

(Just to review: Jansen, Thomas, Rogers, Taylor, Washington, Lloyd, Moss, Thrash, etc, etc. Even Mike Espy, who could have helped now, is out. Not that I'm making excuses, but DAMN!)
Like who?
I don't actually have a name for you, but I can't help but point out that we would be just as fine off in the short run with some first year perceived scrub, as we are with Jimmy Farris.

In the long run, we are WAY better off (potentially) with that same scrub than with Jimmy Farris.

Gibbs still has much to learn about personnel, and not a lot of time to do it.

I'm ready to call the injury situation a legit excuse. I mean WTF! And really we have to add CP early season weakness to injury. I've never seen anything like this, but I'll say one thing fellas, if we make the playoffs out of this mess I'm gonna where my Skins garb every friggin day!

We're not talking about a long term move here though. If Espy was available I'm sure he would have been activated. Farris is a warm body and even with the injuries is our #4 option at WR at best.

Agreed, that and he already knows a little bit about the team, and by a little bit, i mean a little bit.

Also it must be easier to have talks and get things started. If they have an agreement with him it might be quicker to just bring him in and get spun up. A new reciever has to be taught everything, Jimmy is a quick fix, thats all.... lets hope.
