Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
From JLC's Blog:
A REALLY REALLY POSITVIVE SIGN Les Carpenter, who is working the story for us in Miami, heard rumblings that Sean may have opened his eyes. I have not been able to get that confirmed but just heard from a team offical that Sean is now responsive, which is obviously a turn for the best. I will continue working away to get more details, but this is obviously a turn for the better after Sean spent much of the day in a "non-responsive and unconscious" state. As the person put it: "Finally, the first good news all day." Let's hopes it's the first of more to come. UPDATE: Vinny Cerrato just called us with confirmation. "He was responsive to the doctor's requests to squeeze his hands and showed facial expressions. The doctors were very happy about that," Cerrato said " ... Two doctors came and told us they were excited about that." Cerrato also confirmed my earlier reports about Sean being "non-responsive and unconscious." Cerrato said: "We'd heard all that and what they told us was to hope foir a miracle." |
Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: Confirmed by Vinny Cerrato
I know this is being discussed in another thread, but given the turn of events I think it is definately thread-worthy. I personally feel like this is an early Christmas present. Thank you God.

Vinny spoke with the press. It's true. I can't imagine Vinny making such a statement prematurely. I'm sure he's not out of the woods, but this is HUGE. |
Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
i could care less if he plays again. i just hope he fully recovers from this.
|
Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
This is fantastic news. And if the docs asked him to squeeze their hands and he did, that also means his brain may not be damaged. Oh please Sean. Come on buddy. Keep on coming back. Power of prayers.
Comcast is live with it now... I'm wearing my Taylor jersey right now. |

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
According to a poster on Extremeskins, it was reported on the Riggo show that Sean got up and locked the bedroom door and stayed there to listen while his girlfriend was hiding. The door was kicked open and Sean was shot. The EMTs arrived "almost immediately." This same poster reported that Sean is NOT in a coma, but is heavily sedated.
I didn't provide a link because it's a second hand report. |

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
There isn't a doubt in my mind that there was an intent to kill here. The "robber' didn't take anything from Sean's house. Doesn't sound like much of a robbery to me.

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
Glory to God! Thank you, Jesus, for hearing our prayers. Please continue the healing.

I heard about the previous break in, but I didn't hear about the knife being left. That is freaky. Do you have a link? |
Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
It really is starting to sound like someone wanted to murder him instead of rob him. If they were robbing the house, why wasn't anything stolen? Either the gunman wanted to make sure that nobody was going to interfere with him stealing shit or he absolutely wanted to kill ST. To think that somebody would want to kill him is absolutely frightening. At least it sounds like he's coming around, I really hope he will be able to help the police find whoever it was. Stay strong ST.

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
I am not a murderer or anything but if I am going to shoot to kill someone I am not aiming at there leg, I am going for a head shot or chest or something along those lines. and once shot i might shoot a coupld of more times to make sure. I know the seriousness of what happened but not many people go into a shooting thinking I am going to aim at his leg and try to shoot the fermor (sp) artery? It is just to early right now to speculate and it sounds like people maybe trying to stir up the old thuggish way scenario.

That assumes that you are not an idiot, cowardly punk who blasts off a few rounds without aiming much because you want to shoot off a few bullets and run away. |
Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
I've always heard if you want to kill someone shot them in the stomach not the head. The guy fired his gun twice at point blank range missing once. So obviously he was a pretty bad shot. The groin area is not that far from your stomach. So I’m thinking the guy might have been really nervous and missed Sean’s stomach twice.

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
Well either way the individual is an idiot.

Re: Sean Taylor Responsive: CONFIRMED by Vinny Cerrato
this is one good sign, I don't think I need to ask to have you guys keep me posted.

It doesn't give a lot of details, but a FoxSports article is saying that Sean Taylor has emerged from the coma. I'm not sure if it is adding something new or is just putting a new twist on the stuff reported by JLC. |

The shooting came eight days after another invasion was reported at his home. According to police records, someone pried open a front window, rifled through his drawers and left a kitchen knife on a bed. update
Posted at 9:08 PM ET, 11/26/2007 Sean's Status Unchanged As of this minute, all is still the same, in critical condition. Sean has not yet opened his eyes, according to lawyer Richard Sharpstein, but was responsive to stimuli. The doctors continue to monitor him closely, checking vital signs and signs of responsiveness and hoping that this is the first of many milestones to come.
