Chicago v. Washington Predictions
This team is running on fumes emotionally speaking, has had just 1 day of practice to prepare for Chicago, and our offensive line should be on the back of a milk carton. Chicago's defense isn't the same defense we saw last year and their offense is inconsistent, but given the overall state of our team I cannot see us winning this one. Redskins fall to the Bears 24-17 and drop to 5-8.
I also predict that at least several people will implicitly blow off the loss of Sean Taylor, the one day of practice, etc. and use the loss as ammo to use against Gibbs. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Redskins are a better football team than the Bears, so I'm saying 28-19 Redskins.
Should the game go the other way, I can't say I'd be shocked. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
We'll either lose "because of Gibbs" or win "in spite of Gibbs" Sure the defense might let Grossman throw all over the field, Campbell might throw an INT, the offensive line might get pushed back all day, but that doesn't matter. They are never to be held accountable for anything ever.
Seriously though (although I was serious about what I wrote above), if Campbell has no turnovers we win. His turnovers have been the biggest difference between 4-0 and 0-4 the past month. We're not getting blown out, just making costly mistakes. 17-6 Redskins. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Call it a hunch, but I think this is the game that Campbell atones for recent mistakes and makes a few huge plays in the passing game.
Skins 20 Bears 10 |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Portis played great last time against the bears and i think he will get 20+ carries, so I believe that we can and will win this game. 23-17 JC plays a solid game throwing for 1 TD and no INT'S! This is really our last shot at the playoffs.
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
28-7 skins. We get rolling early and open a can of whoop ass on the Bears as we release some of the frustrations of the last few weeks.
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Unfortunately the combination of injuries and emotional hangover are too much to overcome, 24-13 Bears..
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
we will win three quarters.
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Is it me, or does CJ only throw picks when he's driving to score the go-ahead points? I really don't think that will be a factor this week, partly due to Rex Grossman being another QB that's trying to find himself. Picks should be even for boths teams, but fumbles and lack of a running game will be the biggest factor here. I would pound Portis, Betts, and Sellers against them. That will open up the deep threat that we had returned to us last week (thanks SM).
Skins 20, Bears 17. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
The Skins are done physically and mentally.
Chi 24 Skins 10 |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I think the skins are done as well...I don't think they will be able to ride their emotions to a win...they will be emotionally spent and physically tired. It will be good to see Randy Thomas back (if he plays) but I'm not sure i see a win...

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
We'll win, ARZ loses this weekend just to give us yet ANOTHER week of hope only to be crushed next weekend by the Giants.

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I'm tired of trying to make 'smart' homer predictions, which all fall short lately. So I'm going to do it George Costanza style - the opposite of my instincts:
Bears 24 Skins 13 We play a typical tough first half, but can't stop Grossman in the 2nd. What's left of our secondary is banged up & based on what we saw sunday, the d-line can't get any consistent pressure. This team really is going to have to dig deep & they have enough problems under normal circumstances pulling games out. I'll also second Sheriff's prediction about Gibbs; this could be the beginning of the end. |

Our secondary is still pretty solid, and we really didn't allow too many deep passes in the pass couple of weeks. The key to this game is stopping BB and thier running game. I don't see them beating us if they try to air it out all day. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I really think we can win this one. For one, I don't see the Bears blowing us out. So I think we finally close the deal on a tight game.
Campbell will show up and so will the defense. I think the defense plays lights out this week. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I really don't even care at this point. No prediction from me. I wish we could just fast forward through the rest of the season.

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
2 years ago, the bears couldnt beat us when their defense was top notch.

Our minds won't be where the game is after seeing Sean Taylor's body in a casket just 3 days before and knowing he'll never be back with the team. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I say 29 to 23 in overtime Redskins win. Portis busts a 65 yarder down the sideline on the first play in OT. Then gets carried off the field
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I am going to the game and need to see them win once at home while I am there...... Skins win 27-17... and I get to sing Hail to the Redskins over and over.
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Skins will make Rex look like a pro bowler and rush for less than 75 yards. Skins: 13, Bears: 24
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Wow, I'd pick them just because what they have been threw over the past week. Last week I was looking for them to take the field and win one for ST which did not happen. I think it hurt them to the core and this week they come back even more determined to win one for ST. 34skins/ 13 bears

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
My heart says the Skins will do Thursday what they couldn't do on Sunday...however, my heart isn't playing this game, and I can't imagine how drained these guys are going to be come Thursday night.
Bears 15 Redskins 12 (Gould hits the winner with 15 seconds left.) |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I think the Skins play well for 3 1/2 quarters and let another one get away.
Bears 27 Skins 24 |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
What's the point? This team has given up!

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I believe if this game had been played not under the circumstances of a such a tragic loss we would be seeing a win. Of course with the circumstances this is going to be a tough game to watch.
We stay in it only to watch the Bears come back at the last second to crush what we have and wear on this team even more emotionally. Redskins 13 Bears 16 |

You got that right i live in Jersey, but grew up in the md/dc area. And real talk sometimes I am sorry I can get the game on national TV. Love my skins rode or do but they are killing me. We should have spanked the Bills instead of kick so many feild goals. Having said all of that we are going to kill the bears. rip Sean Taylor - Meast |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I'll be there fighting my guts out as the 12th man! Thats all I have left to offer.
No score predictions, but we win by at least ONE! GO SKINS! |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Skins by a favorable margin..
I'm not even kidding..the skins have it coming and i think it's gonna all come out.. Portis to Click ( He likes the National stage and plays well at night) 37-7 Redskins |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Redskins 24
Bears 21 The Redskins will escape with the W after the Bears miss the field goal with 13 seconds left on the clock. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
As a fanatic of the Skins I think they will win the rest of our games as the emotions finally turn to determination! And the Skins win for Sean!
but... as a realist it looks as if the Skins are sleepwalking and will get snake bite once again in D.C. Skins 24 Bears 31 |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I predict we lead most of the game until the 4th quarter and give up some big plays in the 2 minute drill and Loose again, going to 5-8. 21-23 Bears.
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Skins 23-21 Bears
|
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
I predict a Skins win. Its going to be 10- 3 at the half. We score early 3rd quarter making it 17- 3. We win 20- 17

A unique combination of optimism and cynicism. Well played. I have to say, I'm with Matty on this one, I have trouble investing too much in this one. It's going to be very tough. Truncated week and truncated game planning. The Bears started prepping some last week I'm sure, I doubt the Skins got to do much since they were just trying to get through Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the same breakdowns on the O-Line that we saw last week. I'd also be surprised if the Skins score more than 17 points. If they can pull this one off they will earn more of my respect, I just have trouble thinking they'll be able to pull it out. I certainly am hoping for the win and would really like to see Jason do really well. I just think we're going to see the offense struggle pretty mightily again, mostly because I wonder what sort of game planning they are going to get in. Unfortunately that means more vultures out calling for Gibb's head. Don't think it will be a shoot out. If the Skins pull it out I think it will require some help from Rex Grossman and some luck. If they can do it, it will be a low scoring game IMO. Redskins 13, Bears 10. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Skins 19 - Bears 16
Although the Skins are coming off a bad loss, the Bears are too. The situation of their L was worse than the Skins. With Eli throwing 4 INTs (I think) and you can't win, that is crushing. One extra day of practice and preparation doesn't make a huge difference this late in the season. Also, the Bears are traveling, essentially taking away their extra day. |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
The BEARS BLOW the BIG ONE!
They couldn't stop a nat! Skins 42 - Bears ZIP. This "so-called" TEAM completely and thoroughly from head to toe SUCKS! Their season was over when they thought they were good enough to play on the same field as the CHARGERS. ...let alone the same league. Pressure Grossman and he'll run like a little girl for the 5 yard line. The SKINS should have NO PROBLEMO handling The Bearsies. GOOD LUCK WASHINGTON!....and here's to NO INJURIES!!! . |
Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions
Seems I'm always looking for history to repeat itself w/my beloved Skins. Even though it never does, here goes another parallel for this game:
on Nov. 26, 1989, Chicago came to town. The Skins were 5-6 & I believe the Bears were too. Both teams were slumping some. The Skins trounced em 38-14 w/Mark Rypien throwing for 401 yds. & 5 td's I think. All of the posse had at least 1 td, believe Monk had 2. I think the Bears scored on a kick return for one of their td's. This was the first of 5 straight wins to finish 10-6, though they didn't make the playoffs. I remember it so well because my sister got us great tickets close to the field. Ditka was fuming during & after the game. My hope for tomorrow night is that we can get back on track in the same fashion, though we can't expect the score to be like that. The Bears are also struggling. |
