Guilty pleasures: TV shows

What are some TV shows that you're a little embarrassed to admit that you like?

I'll start with two that I'm hooked on: "Little People, Big World" and "Jon and Kate plus 8"

LPBW is not bad. I hit the Food Network like it is going out of business. Good Eats and Iron Chef America. I am not embarassed to say I watch Mythbusters whenever I can. I kinda like Kitchen Nightmares when nothing else is on.

Yeah, LPBW is good. I don't watch it really, but the episodes I've seen are good.

Ok, I'll admit it. I don't mind HGTV

Ok, I'll really admit it. I'm all about Gossip Girl. Of course, I just tell people "Well, my fiancee likes it so..." But really I'm the one that got her hooked on it.

Mythbusters, natch. SurvivorMan (or as my wife says, that poor homeless guy...) also... America's Next Top Model. Top chef too. I love me some gay Bravo channel...

As long as we're all making asses out of ourselves, I'm going to admit that I like shows like The Soup and Best Week Ever.
Also, my chick roommate made fun of me because I watched Beauty and the Geek on occassion (I still don't know who won damnit!).

Also, I watch Dexter, which is one of the best shows on TV but sometimes it makes me feel like a psycho just for liking it so much.

I'm a major American Idol fan. That may not be embarassing in and of itself, because tons and tons of people watch it.

... but I vote. A lot.

I'll admit it too, I like HGTV and all those home improvement shows. We've gotten a lot of great ideas from those shows. 'Designed to sell' is pretty cool.

You're on your own with Gossip Girl though. LOL

Two of my favorites right there.

I'm not afraid to say I love the Food Network. Other than the NFL Network that's probably the channel that's on the most in my house.

I also find myself watching cooking shows a lot, and I don't even cook. But they have to be cooking something that I'd want to actually eat, or that I'd like to be able to make if I weren't so lazy.
Back in high school I wrestled and I used to watch them like they were dirty movies when I was cutting weight, but now I just find them really relaxing.

"I Love New York", I have to say is hilarious...

And everyone knows I watch the Food Network all the damn time.

Speaking of Food Network, is it just me or do Giada's shirts get lower and lower as each season progresses?

The Hills.

[waiting for laugther to subside]

[still waiting]

The wife watches it. I started off hating it, then when I realized I was a captive audience to it as we ate dinner, I tolerated it. Now I'm mildly interested to see what happens.

God I'm so gay.

Same with my wife. I want to STAB that Spencer guy. He has to be the biggest douche I've ever seen.

LOL my wife watches it too, but I've resisted getting sucked in.

Yeah, that might be worse than American Idol

Yeah, sometimes when I'm watching that show I fantasize about Terry Tate leveling him in the middle of the show. That would be the most spectacular random turn of events in a TV show ever.

Either that or a total beatdown from Kimbo Slice.

Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows

LOL. I hate that show but I watch it with her because it's really sad. All those stupid chickenheads LIVE for is drama. If any of them had a decent person as a significant other they couldn't handle having such a boring life.

Food Network, HGTV, and History Channel are my most consistently watched channels. I, too, watch "John and Kate plus 8". I always watch Heroes, Prison Break (ugh), The Office, Scrubs, CSI and Criminal Minds.

Hey another Jon and Kate fan!

I really don't know how they do it. 8 freaking kids? God bless them.

I like Prison Break. And the Office and Scrubs make up my favorite hour of TV. I wouldn't call them guilty pleasures though, those shows are just straight up awesome.

I have to say that show is starting to piss me off. How about you actually get out and get on the run again?!?!

It's the way they do it that simply amazes me. Kate is a beast when it comes to doing it her way. She is definitely in charge. She cool with getting frustrated but fighting through it and still showing those kids a lot of love. I like and totally identify with Jon's layed-back attitude.

Either that or Jodi Lyn Okeefe needs to get naked like yesterday.

I did get caught up in the Biggest Loser. I'll blame that one on the wife.

Yeah Kate is tough. He handles her well though. Not sure that I would be able to handle it if I was him especially when she yells "wake up" at him all the time.

When this season started and the inmates had their own way dealing with inner squables by utilizing the old "two enter, one man leave" ideology I thought "Uh-oh, this is going to be a long season." Thankfully, they didn't focus very much on that. I think it would have totally ruined it for me.

I keep waiting for Mahone and Michael to become allies. Mahone is one bad ass dude. When he killed the guy who was going to stab Michael in the ring, I was jumpin off my couch like YEAH MOTHER EFFER DON'T EFF WITH MAHONE!!

I don't know what the hell they're doing with his character.

I think people get tired of the same so they have people come in and out. Honestly when Sarah died I was REALLY pissed. Something tells me she's not dead...

The funny thing about Prison Break is that you basically have to be killed by Mahone in order to die and be removed from the show. Everyone else miraculously survives and comes back in a couple of episodes.

This was in response to Schneed's post as well, btw.

I wouldn't call myself a fan but I've seen that with my wife a bunch of times.

That family lives very close to me actually. The mom yells a lot, but I guess she has good reasons to. :D

I'm stuck watching that crap because my girlfriend watches it, and it disgusts me that those pigeons actually think they have real world problems. I wish my biggest problem in life was who I'm banging tonight, or where I'm going to get drunk next weekend. "Hmmm... do I go to Paris for the summer, or spend it at the beach with my boyfriend?" STFU!

Also... reality show, my ass. Does anyone ever notice that they always have the perfect camera angles, and the dialogue is always polished? I think they're doing it like a dramatic version of The Office.

My wife watches this all the time. I am very obnoxiously vocal about how terrible it is. It's a feel bad show IMO. I really want something bad to happen to everyone. Of course, while she's watching I guess I get more Warpath time. Never mind, with that in perspective it is a good show.

I jumped off the Prison Break bandwagon this year and hopped back on the How I Met Your Mother bandwagon. Love 30 Rock too.
