Where is all of the Collins haters?
I knew this guy given a chance to start would be exactly what we need. You don't have to be a mobile qb or have the strongest arm for this system, you just have to be smart and make a good read. Besides is it me or does Campbell's balls are uncatchable and Collins's balls land softly in our receivers hands. Collins should not only start in the playoffs if we get there but he should at least start next season. One more season to learn and watch a saunders' qb play in this offense could do wonders for Campbell's improvement.

Hey let's see Collins a little longer before we get all crazy. Campbell better be taking good notes that's for sure. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I wish people would wait until the end of the game to post these "I told you so" threads.

Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Props to Collins, but I still hope JC comes back ASAP.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
There are Collins haters? Where have I been?
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I think if we make the playoffs the worst thing we could do is bring in campbell, you have a 4 game winning streak and you want to change qbs? Leave collins in and have campbell back him up
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
collins looks good , calm ,confidence in the pocket , knows the system so far so good

Nice grammar on the thread title. Here is some negative rep points. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
One thing that has been helping Collins is the O-line protection and the running game. Both have been really good lately.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Campbell is still our guy for the future, but Collins is doing a hell of a job in relief and he's the man right now.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
i feel more comfortable with collins right now. he knows the offense well and doesnt make mistakes, very smart player. campbell is the future, but collins is our guy right now. if campbell were available for the playoffs if we made it, i think wed have to stick with TC

:laughing2 On a serious note, I'm thrilled Collins is doing well. That being said, anyone thinking he should replace Campbell must've drunk a little too much eggnog. The guy is 36, and even if he does start playing like Tom Brady, how many more years do we have out of him? 2? Maybe 3? Campbell is the QB of the future, but it's AWESOME to have a solid, mature backup in Collins to mentor Campbell in the system and fill in like he's doing right now. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
lmao! I didn't notice that until now.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Well......I want to get in the playoffs first. Sorry to be a party pooper.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I suppose I'm a Collins hater seeing he sucked hard in pre-season games. He stepped up big the last few games and while I'm still not a big believer yet I'm going to give him duly deserved props. As for JC getting back into the starting lineup, why fix something that isn't broke? Collins is my starter all the way even if JC is healthy!

Maybe he thinks there's only one hater and the last "s" was a typo? |

I guess the word "all" is a typo too? LOL Despite the inauspicious start to the thread, it's a decent discussion that's springing up here. I think you stick with TC in the playoffs, whether Campbell is ready or not. But let's cross that bridge when we come to it. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Collins has shown that he can run this offense 3 weeks straight. Also, he's not turning the ball over which killed us during our 4 game losing streak. I love Campbell and expect him to be under center Week 1 in 2008, but not for the rest of this season.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I didn't know there were any Collins haters. He has proven to be an extremely valuable backup which is a huge asset given the high number of QB injuries every year. That said, the minute Campbell is ready to play, he has to be your starter IMO. If Campbell struggles that first game back, you know that you have a great relief pitcher to bail you out.

Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Were on a roll with Collins, he should start IF we make the postseason. Beyond that, its Jason's team in my opinion. But for right now, we just got to focus on Dallas. If we go in with this "were playing their backups" crap, were going to lose.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I don't think anyone outright said they hated Collins (Maybe, people do and I just haven't seen it) I think most people agree that TC is NOT starting material, which I personally still stand by. Just because he's not starting material doesn't mean he's not a reliable QB.
And just to add to that, if we make it to the playoffs, I think we should ride TC. He'd be on a 3 game winning streak and there's no point in benching a good thing. Let JC sit and rehab that knee for the rest of the season so he'll be ready to roll next season. |

In '87, backup Doug Williams bailed the Skins out to beat the Vikes at the Metrodome late in the season, and he rode Doug all the way to the Super Bowl.

Thank you. I thought I was the only spelling/grammar natzi on here. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Collins is flat out getting it done. He hit on nearly 76% of his passes tonight. He's cool under fire, he gets the ball out quick, and he hits his spots. I think it's time to start believing in the guy.
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
Are you seriously writing this? He has thrown 2 TD passes. Stop being like a cowboys fan anf crowing someone great after they play a couple games. He has filled in and done well but he is a career back up, and that is that. The Redskins will get crushed if they have to play at Seattle, and cannot win at Dallas.

He's thrown 4 now, with 0 INT's. |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
I don't know any......? Keep the team rollin into the playoffs Todd, job WELL DONE!
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
We've been serving a drink called the 'Todd Collins' all week at the bar. Variations include the 'Vodka Todd' and the 'Dallas Week'...
It's officially Dallas Week! |
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
TC is playing like there isn't anymore football for him after this...and that could very well be the truth
|
Re: Where is all of the Collins haters?
i think Collins remains. but why even think about bringing back Jason Campbell if there is the smallest chance of further injury. he is on a roll, and lets ride him out
