Redskins/Dallas MVP

Who is your MVP for the 27-6 ROMP over Dallas?!

rypper11 12-30-2007 08:09 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Would've said Wilson or at least the DLine. But, gotta say D. 1 yard rushing? With Barber going for a contract bonus? See ya in Dallas.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

No question... can you remember any other QB's in Redskin history that came off the bench and lead the team to the playoffs?

Great point about Barber and his contract bonus. At one point in the second half he got up after being hit for a loss and was pouting. It was funny. Eat shit Dallas.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Defense... no doubt

but Portis, Collins, Moss, and really the whole offensive unit did its job..

DynamiteRave 12-30-2007 08:23 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

I said the D but its hard not to give it to Moss, Collins and Portis.

MTK 12-30-2007 08:24 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

I'm giving it to Collins, he's been amazing these past 4 weeks. He's just so money.

GMScud 12-30-2007 08:25 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

I wouldn't give today's game ball to anyone in particular. I'd simply dedicate the win and the ball to the whole organization. For everything this team and it's staff have been through, this was a Redskins win. I don't think such a poignant victory should have an individual MVP. It's TEAM that has gotten us here.

Everybody!! A total team effort.

Well said.... I second that.

everyone played great tonight, it was tough but i went with the defense. 6 pts, held barber to -6 rushing yards...man what a game from those guys

12thMan 12-30-2007 08:51 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Gotta go with Collins. But what a statement CP and our defense sent to Barber who's going to the Pro-Bowl instead of Portis.

budw38 12-30-2007 08:52 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Taylor ,,, 21 pt victory . Collins , Portis , the entire D ,, and the coaching staff :)

EternalEnigma21 12-30-2007 08:53 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

the D. If i didn't have such bad luck with players leaving after I buy their jerseys Id run out and buy and Shawn Springs jersey. He's money right now...

Im not trying to downplay the efforts of collins, portis, moss, etc... but the D was amazing.

DFI 12-30-2007 09:50 PM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

there are several that you could make a case for but I gotta say the D. look at what they did to the cowboys. franchise record for fewest yards in a game. I don't think they converted a 3rd down.

You said it first!

The whole D played like ST today!

The D was dirty. Portis came up big...loved how he played...was upset about the fumble, but bounced back well.
No question... can you remember any other QB's in Redskin history that came off the bench and lead the team to the playoffs?
Doug Williams was our backup in '87, got playing time early when Jay Schroeder injured his shoulder, and took over as starter again late in the season when Schroeder was ineffective. I shouldn't need to remind you how that season ended up ;-)

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Seriously, our defense is playing as good as I've seen it in Gibbs II. Dating all the way back to the Tampa game, they've just been awsome. So I'll go with them, keeping Dallas out of the endzone.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

17 rushes for 1 yard?
185 passing (BEFORE subtracting sack yardage).

i think the total was like 154 for the game. red-ic-ul-os.

I wonder where we'll be ranked defensely this week. Can anyone crunch the numbers?

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

the capitol defence had a huge game. moss has been a cowboy killer since he's been here. congrats to portis the only 100 yard rusher against dallas all year. and collins what can you say this is his team now. you gotta give game balls to everyone today. from the coaches to the players. total TEAM effort. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

Voted for Collins. $hit, before Collins started, when was the last time we hit a receiver in stride for a TD. Two years ago?!! Unbelievable play at QB - something we haven't witnessed since 1991. Collins is MVP for us this year, despite seeing the field in only 3.5 games. He has led us to the 4 wins that we needed.

The D is driving the bus right now. Our O is doing well but the D looks nasty.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

The D...courtesy of Sean Taylor. Side note: My wife went through some things in storage during the holidays and uncovered some old bumper stickers we obtained back when we lived in Annapolis. They were some old "HailSkins" stickers by WTEM radio with a black background. God knows how old they are (10-15 yrs.?), but after tonights game I promptly, and proudly, placed one on my rear windshield to parade all over Atlanta the next week...and beyond! Man, never think that our team cannot overcome anything.

As far as the NFL's version of "total D," which is yardage based, we finished 8th overall. Link to that page:

IMO, the stat that should could for total D is scoring. In that category we're 11th...

D has been lights out. Just DOMINATED--first Minn with the best run attack and now dallas. And the pass rush has been there. And the TOs from the CBs--Springs has been fantastic.

As Gibbs says: Your defense leads you.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

The D after some debate. The offense was crisp. I would give Portis one as well. Great game, great win. Bring on the Sea Chickens.

The D pounded dallas into raising the surrender flag in the 3rd quarter. They get my vote.

Defensive lIne. 1 yard rushing says it all. the others were great too. but seriously 1 yard? unbelievable. See you in 2 weeks romo... mwah ha ha

For scoring we'd have finished 5th without the NE game.

Check out the photos on Washingtonpost.com. After the fumble, CP held the ball w/ both hands, arms, legs, toes. Noticed Moss doing the same thing. Here ya go:

I went with Collins. Dude has been on a roll, and its amazing to see how runs this offense almost to perfection.

hurrykaine 12-31-2007 10:31 AM

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

The offense is now putting up the points in the second half that lets Grilliams become more aggressive on defense. That wasn't happening last year and for most of this year. That's why Collins gets my vote.

Re: Redskins/Dallas MVP

There was this douche bag sitting behind me (Dallas fan) and he kept saying, "Aw, whatever, you're beating our third stringers." Excuse me if you didn't leave your first string in the WHOLE first half, all because of some stupid ass personal achievements.

When I saw Romo wincing coming off the field, as much as I don't want to see anyone get hurt, THAT IS F-ING WHY YOU DON'T PLAY YOUR STARTERS IN MEANINGLESS GAMES. We took it to them up and down the field. I ran the guy out of the stadium by the third quarter.

You should have responded, "so are we". Fabini, Heyer, Godfrey, Smoot, Doughty, Collins.
