Weather for Saturday's game

Rain 70% chance, temp in the mid 40's. This could affect the outcome, it could be an advantage to us having played last weekend in the rain.

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

Advantage to Redskins...much better running attack than the Seahawks.

Sand Trap I just want to thank you for being one of the classiest cowboys fans on this board. there are several fans from other teams who come on the site and you, gainttone, and countless other fans of other teams who I have a real respect for. We all love this game of football and although we are rivals we do respect each others teams. Hail from SC!!

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

It's Seattle, rains all the time. I don't think it will keep them from spreading it out & throwing to those wr's. Likewise, I don't think we'll run any more or less due to the rain unless it's really severe & is accompanied by strong winds.

No surprise here. It always rains in Seattle.

sandtrapjack yeah you are ok,:) one of the few who supports your team and knows the game of footbqall as well unlike some others...

and for the weather in seattle . in all kinds of weather just do what you have been doing for the past 4 weeks and play with intensity, swarm like a bunch bees and hit em hard.

This has been my pet peeve recently.

Fans that blindly support their teams without respecting what other teams do. When Romo and TO carved up our secondary, I showed nothing but respect -- saying they were an amazing combination that I hate to face. We stomp them this week.. all i get is that we suck and Cowboys didnt care and TO didnt play and blah blah...

I cannot stand people that do not show true respect or knowledge.

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

Boys, I am sure glad someone beat me to the punch and alerted the faithful with the weather update. Thanks, SFRedskin.

For all intents and purposes, that will be changed to a 100% chance of not only rain, but heavy, blinding rain for gametime Saturday. This is a powerful storm system that will plow ashore and produce rain amounts in excess of 2-3 inches. The winds will probably howl more than they did during the NYG game, making it imperative for the rushing attacks to have above average, if not stellar, production. I'll take CP and the Skins to do more in these elements.

All the while, native DC'ers will enjoy a very pleasant January weekend marked by temps in the 50s and more sun than clouds. It will occur in advance of what will be our January thaw all of next week, with widespread 60s for high temps and a spring-like feel to the air.

Rain but no wind= advantage Hawks
Rain and wind = advantage us
Either way, Alexander will pull a Thurman Thomas and lose his helmet cuz he's scared of the brutalization he'll take on the field.

Rain? In Seattle?

It's also snowing in the North Pole, and I hear it's hotter than a sonofabitch in Sahara desert.

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

The Skins have played in bad weather 3 of the last 4. (Vikings game was perfect) I am sure the Seahawks will play fine in bad weather, but this Skins team seems to be a bunch of "Mudders" anyway. Bring it on! And give me John Faccenda as the Play-by- play guy, and not Collensworth and Hammon! YUCK! I hate Collensworth!

thanks to both SFredskin & Rock31 for some great updates.
Like I said, if there's wind that's what will make a difference, so it would favor the Skins.

It's going to rain but Seattle rain is usually very light rain. If you're going to the game expect to be standing the whole game...bring worm+rain attire and some gloves.

bring worm? are we going fishing? ;) Or are you flying us all out there, and providing your house as a place to stay for the extended weekend?

I'm trying to scrap enough $$ together so I can fly up to the game on Sat. I hope it rains I like our running game better then Seattle’s. I’m glad this is the team we start with, the Seahawks are ripe for the picking right now. HTTR!!!

It's baby talk? I don't know about staying at my place but I'm certainly willing to treat you with a few drinks and celebrate a victory.

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

the seattle field can drain 7 inches an hour (i think that's what i heard), so it won't affect footing much (just a little slippery), and we've seen todd in crazy wind and in some rain, so as long as we don't get both, it shouldn't really matter too much.

much rather be playing in the kingdome,I dont understand wtf they were thinking when they built this stadium,or maybe I'm just pissed that last time we played them in the playoffs the weather sucked and we lost

I just looked up the weather and around game time they are calling for light rain and winds from 15 to 7 mph. From what I could tell the wind will die down in the evening.

Re: Weather for Saturday's game

Take a gander at those winds. SSW 18 to 24 mph. And those are just the sustained winds!!! Gusts could approach 40 mph. Now, I don't know how much the wind swirls inside Qwest, but if it's only half as disruptive as it is in the Meadowlands, signs point to the Hawks' passing game grinding to a halt.

And don't get me started about the rain and how it always falls in SEA; while almost true, this kind of meteorological set up will prove to be the wettest and windiest conditions that stadium has possibly ever experienced. There will be so many mud-caked unis and unwieldy footballs that the broadcast booth won't know what to talk about more: the horrific weather or the Skins' resilience to it. To invoke the words of Steve Spurrier, that ball club (SEA) just ain't gonna pitch it around too well.

Not only it is going to a lot of rain pouring and winds going from 20-30 mph. It is also expected to have alittle thundering in the afternoon. I hope it doesn't effect the game though!

If there are 20-30 mph winds, I like our chances that much more.

Oh, I didn't forget. If the weather tomorrow in Seattle is like it is today in San Francisco, the game would be an adventure. Gusts up to 100MPH, 4 or more inches of rain in 12 hours. Lake Tahoe is expecting 10 feet of snow by Sunday, not inches, feet. Quite the storm!! CBS 5 - San Francisco Bay Area's source for news, weather, traffic and sports
