Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Cartwright, Collins Among 16 Free Agents
There are plenty of threads about who we should sign, but who can we do without? |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
brunell, demulling, nehmiah
|
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Brunell was my first choice too.

couldnt agree more with these 3.....we might need to brunell one more year if saunders gets canned, im sure collins will leave then |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
We can do without Brunell, DeMulling, Pucillo, Stoutmire, Nemo, Macklin, Kozlowski, and if Saunders isn't retained, Collins may as well go too.

Brunell should have been gone a long time ago.. If it's Fassel then Kerry Collins will be the back-up QB.. |

......Shudder........ God I hope not. |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Okay, if you can have Mark Brunell or Kerry Collins as your backup QB, and you choose Kerry Collins, I think you need to send Vinny a check for $30 and a written 300 word apology.
Kerry Collins blows. |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
I don't think that this team needs anyone other than Prioleau and Rock from that list. Maybe Fabini for the purposes of depth. However, I only care if they re-sign those two.
I would be in favor of, in the interest of continuity, keeping one of the QB's, but I don't think getting another young backup would be the worst idea in the world. |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
vinny cerrato
|
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Gotta keep the ROCK!
|
Gotta keep the ROCK!
I use to always get excited whenever Rock made it on the roster out of training camp. However every year I was almost certain that Rock would get cut, especially when guys like Lamar Marshall were getting cut. I just expected Rock to be cut at some point. However after his performance on special teams the past few years I think its safe to say that The Rock...... is here to stay if ya smellllllllllllll!!! Oh and Mark Brunell for zee cut. |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
I would like to keep Rock but he's looking for a payday. Bye Rock, hello Betts/Thrash.
|
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Rock must stay! Vinny Cerrato must go! Someone needs to steal the pictures of the Dan he must have.

that looks about right. i wouldn't mind keeping macklin though. and brunell is about as good off the bench as any other veteran qb we could pick up. |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS
Sign: Ethan Albright, LS Reche Caldwell Rock Cartwright Todd Collins (note: no Saunders equals no Collins) Jason Fabini (unless we draft better) Keenan McCardell, Pierson Prioleau, Let Go: Ryan Boschetti Mark Brunell DeMulling Derrick Frost Randall Godfrey Brian Kozlowski David Macklin Mike Pucillo Omar Stoutmire EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FREE AGENTS Sign: Shaun Suisham Cut: Nehemiah Broughton *clearly we can keep some of these "let go" guys for vet min contracts...but in general, this is how I feel about them... |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Brunnell was a nice guy and good QB for us for 2005, but now it is clear that his time has past. He would be better served going to another team that could use a veteran back up. We should consider bringing in another veteran QB. Maybe someone who has about 4 years experience. Not really sure who that is off the top of my head, but getting rid of brunell makes sense to me.
|
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
Don't get hung up on Fassel bringing Kerry Collins here. Remember, he had Danny Kannel in NY too and had a winning season with Kannel. I promise that Danny K will not cost more than the vet minimum :)

Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
We either need brunell or collins to back up Campbell.

We need to get younger at QB at least our 3rd string QB |
Re: Who Should We NOT Re-Sign?
In my opinion, and even though it "Can't Be Done", I'd not re-sign the owner.
Everyone says Dan Snyder is a financial genius, but the guy would have to be the dumbest man alive to break up the 'Skin's coaching staff, hire an outsider, throw the progress that has been made out of the window, and incite the hatred of his team's fan base. Continuity and progress go hand in hand. Dan Snyder should KNOW that! I don't know what Dan has on his mind, but I'd really like to know how long he thinks the fans are going to support the Redskins FINANCIALLY if he dumps Greg Williams in favor of an outsider. The 'Skins have a huge fan base in Maryland. Those Marylanders just might decide to become Ravens Fans. If Dan has ONE working brain cell left in his head, I hope that he will realize the folly of looking outside the organization, and do the right thing by his team. The 'Skins don't need another "Head Coach", they have coaches enough. Let Greg Williams run the defense or name him as head coach who ALSO runs the defense, and keep everybody that they now have. We all know that an owner can do virtually anything he wants, but when one becomes the owner of the Redskins, he takes on a responsibility to the community that supports the team. If he can't live up to that responsibility, then perhaps its time for Dan to sell. |

I agree, but with all of the more important holes we have to fill right now, it doesn't seem like this would be a good year to take care of it. |
