The Moment of Truth

Comes on Fox in 10 minutes.. I think. If not then it starts at 9.

Either way anyone else planning on watching it? The premise of the show is nuts. To be hooked up to a lie detector and then get asked all these personal questions in front of your family and friends, (i.e. Have you ever touched a female co-worker inappropriately, etc). I'm not sure how the money factors in, but I know its part of the show.

I don't care how much money you offered me, you could never make me take a lie detector test. And then make me tell the truth in front of national TV and my family and friends? Pfft..

Re: The Moment of Truth

if I weren't married, Id do it in a heartbeat, but its not worth the potential hurt it could cause my wife.

Warpath 01-23-2008 08:42 PM

Re: The Moment of Truth

Definitely watching, Definitely not participating. I can get myself in enough trouble without the lie detector.

Re: The Moment of Truth

can you imagine a question coming up, like... would you bang your wife's mom if you wouldn't get caught??

That'd make for an awkward thanksgiving...

Fox is so trashy... I love it.

However, the pauses in this show are UNBEARABLE.

I don't like that either. With that computerized sounding voice. Ugh. Makes me nuts.

Re: The Moment of Truth

I was talking to one of my friends and she said they should do a follow up show to see who ends up getting divorced.

That question about having done anything to make your wife not trust you... Thats an awful question to have to answer. But as a spectator I sure would love to know what it was!

Re: The Moment of Truth

i just tuned in after putting my kid to bed... the long pauses are absurd.

Man... that question about delaying kids... trophy wife is gonna go for the divorce in the morning.

lol she was pretty amazing looking, I have to give her that.

The delaying kids, touching a client inappropriately, and doing something that would make her not trust him. Those are a relationship killer.

Re: The Moment of Truth

Well, the guy on there now... did he kill a rat and stick it on his head? He just looks like a looser slimball... I wonder if he sells used cars..

Anyone hear of that first guy... couldn't remember his name to look him up to see if he actually played a down.

Re: The Moment of Truth

everyone does some things that would make their spouse not trust them at one point or another. That's a pretty vague question. Delaying kids because you don't know if they're the one could easily played off with the whole, "honey, you're just too perfect... there's no way you're for real. I'm just waiting for you to go berserk or something because there's no way theres really someone as perfect as you."

as far as touching someone inappropriately, and then stacking the trusting question on top of that... he's pretty much screwed.

but, why the hell would you lie? you're screwed either way, right? f'it, at least get the freaking money...

REALLY? I hate reality based shows, but the premise of this one grabbed my attention. Much better stage to bare your secrets to the world than a daytime tv talkshow... and you get cash prizes!

The concept is terrible but I suppose there are people out there willing to put everything on the line for money. Its not like they were forced into it, they know what they are getting themselves into and that they are risking relationships and respect of their spouses and friends for a quick buck.

Not my fault if I wanna watch. ;)

Too bad he suffered a knee injury, looks like he would've been a coveted player. Can you get his stats when he was with the Giants? If he ever got a chance to play. I dunno what came first: His XFL career or his NFL.

I was afraid they'd ask some question concerning the wife and the "friend" of the first guy. Like "If you could get away with it without your wife finding out would you sleep with 'friend'?"

Then the sparks would've hit.

Yea.... if the 25G question was touching women... what would the 500 G question be?

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman, miss lewinsky".... Well, it all depends on what your definition of "is" is.

My wife and I watched it. She was intrigued by it, and the format is decent. I'm not a big fan of the host, but oh well. We'll watch it again, because you know someone is going to hang themselves out to dry worse than that first guy did...

The pauses suck, but all the reality style shows have those stupid pauses. They oughta go commercial free with ads on the bottom of the screen...
