I wasn't planning on watching it since Favre wasn't going to be in it but now that Brady's out I might just watch it...:silly:

I think people are really reaching for reasons to bash Brady and the Patriots. So he's not going to the Pro Bowl so what? He may not have gone had they won either.

A lot of players don't go. Not really news if you ask me. I agree with SS, sounds like people just want to rag on Brady.

Usually, when the best players, especially QBs sit it out, they get criticized. Brady's not an exception.

The game is for the fans. Even if he can't play, he could give the fans what they want and show up to sign some autographs or something.

Damn straight we want to rag on Brady. It might not make much rational sense, but it makes us feel good. He's a douche.

Re: Brady will be a no show in the ProBowl

I don't know. Most players who are voted into the Pro Bowl attend unless they are injured. By all accounts Brady's ankle is fine. If he's sulking and refusing to go to the Pro Bowl because of the loss in the Super Bowl, he's just feeding the perception that he is a whiny twat.

It's not a big deal and maybe I'd want to skip the Pro Bowl if I lost the Super Bowl, but it's still fun to rag on Brady.

The Patriots are almost always playing deep into the playoffs. Dude probably just wants some time off.

He's not being asked to practice all week and play 4 quarters, just to show up for the fans.

Brady and his coach are classless. His coach not respecting the game and not waiting for it to finish or Brady now not going to the PB is just stupid. I know the Pats lost, but they could have respected the game of football and waited for the game to be over, or the Pats players not there to line-up for the final play. IMO, this whole thing shows that they think they are above the game. Then again, it is just my opinion.

He's probably going to Carnaval in Brazil with Gisele. Wouldn't it be great if he did and the media discovered him there.

W/e, if I had lost like that after the way the season went I wouldn't want to do anything with football for a while, it's gonna sting lol. I still don't like him though.

They should take away recognition of selection if they choose to opt out and not travel to the Pro Bowl.

The only thing hurt on that guy is his ego.

Come on guys...
He did have an injury before the superbowl and he did take a pounding during the game.

most importantly, he is probably going to bang Giselle senseless for the next month, he needs to conserve his energy.

I kind of agree with you. See this is where Peyton Manning gets it. I remember after the SB last year he said that as long as he is voted in he'll always show up to the Pro Bowl. He could've not showed up after they won the SB but he still came and played. I like Brady but I think he is wrong here. Both he and Moss owe it to the fans and NFL sponsors that pay their hefty salaries to show up and play.

i totaly agree with you and SS. i really don't get all the hate people have towards brady. like you said matty, plenty of players don't go to all star games (in all sports) for various reasons. i also think brady's leg was and is hurt more then he let on. oh well, people need to understand the difference between cockyness and confidence.

Dude we don't need Brady appoligists if people want to dislike him its on them. I personally don't like starts skipping the game like its not a big deal. If he's hurt then go there in street gear, also now Moss is skipping it??

What a joke!

Re: Brady will be a no show in the ProBowl

I understand many players don't go even though they are not injured but u can't tell me that if they won the superbowl at least Moss, and most likely Brady, wouldn't have been there trying to rack up the stats. Both of those guys are ego-maniacs...

I'm not saying that he is an asshole for this and its probably pretty justifiable to not celebrate in Hawaii after that kind of a loss. But let's call a spade a spade, cuz he isn't skipping out so his body can heal or so he can get some extra vacation time. He doesn't want to be at that kind of a venue and it is a form of sulking/mourning.

With the no-tackling, horse collaring, getting burnt all day long Roy Williams replacing potentially the best safety ever in the pro bowl, I am boycotting it altogether. Its a glorified popularity contest. Besides, the AFC coach probably doesnt have tapes of the NFC team, so Brady wouldnt do very well anyway.

Thats right Brady go cry while you have sex with your Brazilian Super model, and play with your kid with the awesome genes, and watch the....tapes of the other three super bowls you won, and and FUCK. Being Tom Brady isn't really that bad.

i'm not trying to appoligize for the man, nor do i care if you or anyone else dislike him . i just find it really funny that so many of you dislike him for whatever reasons ya'll can come up with to justify yourselves.

and is really that important to you that he plays in the probowl, god forebid, someone decide they don't want to participate in a meaningless game.

Just wait for the 08 season to start and he goes on another streak, everyone will be on his jock again. One thing I've learned about many so called sports fans today, "When you're winning they're humping you, when you lose they dump you.

Re: Brady will be a no show in the ProBowl

Why is everyone so down on Brady? I get the Bellichick stuff, but Brady seems like a pretty decent guy. He's never (to my knowledge) called out his linemen like Peyton Manning after a crushing upset loss, or publically criticized his front office for failing to get him adequate weapons like Favre and McNabb. He's consistently been at his best when the pressure is turned up (which includes the Superbowl, where he was stuck with an incoherent offensive strategy and no help from his offensive line, yet never lost his composure and actually gave his team a lead his defense should have protected). He was a sixth round draft pick who excelled threw mental excellence, nerves of steel, and hard work.

When does he ever whine about anything? You want to see a whiner, go read about Joe Montana.

And the supposedly best receiver of all time (Jerry "the whiner" Rice) I've seen it here. Brady is not a bad guy and is from San Mateo, CA. kind of like Bethesda to Rockville over there. Here's a little dirt on Jerry from back in '98 PAGE ONE -- Police Close Spa -- Find Jerry Rice / 49ers star denies wrongdoing

I suggest watching the post-game comments by Brady, Bruschi, et al on nfl.com/videos (search by team). I must admit, the Pats players came off like good sportsmen. Brady and Bruschi looked like they were getting pretty choked up, even if they didn't cry.

Joe had to play. He couldn't go home after getting caught by his wife in bed with Cathy Lee Crosby during SB week.

It's probably going to take them a long time to get over a loss like that. They had so much riding on it. Brady was saying before the game that is was the biggest game of their lives. And to lose when they had it right in their fingers. I actually felt bad for Brady and Bruschi.
