Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
Assuming the picks stay the same (i.e. no trades are made) who should the Skins pick in rounds 3,5,6, and 7? Remember we don't have a 4th round pick

Round 3: Roy Sheuning, G, Oregon State
Round 5: Owen Schmitt, FB, West Virginia (Please, let him drop that far.) Round 6: Al Phillips, CB, Wagner (Here's my reach but 17 career INTs. Could he surprise like Reed Doughty?) Round 7: Sammie Stroughter, WR, Oregon State |

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Drafts Predictions (Rounds 3-7)
Round 3: Shawn Crable, DE/OLB, Michigan - Can be a pass rush specialist for us. Has a
big frame, so he can always get bigger to be a full time DE. Can play OLB is Rocky regresses. Round 5: Duane Brown, T, Virginia Tech - A Former tight end who is light on his feet, young, and highly coachable Round 6: Chris Horton, S, UCLA - Solid player who rarely makes mistakes, and can develop into good competition for the starting SS spot Round 7: Rudolph Hardy, DE, Howard - from my alma mater, according to NFL draft scout, he led the MEAC and the nation in tackles for loss with 25.5. He can pay big dividends if we snag him up late or Steve Johnson, WR, Kentucky - I dont think he will be here after the combine, but as of right now he is projected as a 7th round pick |

Thanks for all of the links as well. I like the Monk pick in the 7th. He could be a bargain if he is there. What do yo u think about Rudolph Hardy from Howard. Look at his info and let me know what you think about taking him at the 7th/FA. If you could do that, then who would you take in the third, and would that change the overal make-up of your day two picks? |
Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
I've edited the title in the thread (and in the Day One) thread, changing "Prediction" to "Selection" just to clarify that this is who you would draft if in charge.

By the way, I made a mistake. We do have a 4th round pick this year
REPEAT: WE DO HAVE A 4th ROUND PICK IN 2008 I got the parameters of the Kendall trade confused, we're giving up a 2009 4th rounder for Kendall. And I think most draft boards did as well So everyone revise your draft to include a 4th rounder Covering The Redskins: February 16-- Cerrato sheds light on off-season direction for Skins ESPN - Jets' Kendall dealt to Redskins for mid-round draft pick - NFL |

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
Out of curiosity I am a badgers fan and was curious what you think of this. CB Jack Ike is supposed to be a laate first early second round pick. He was injured and will miss the 2008 season. This should drop his pick a TON. However even so he is a great corner back. Would you be interested? If so which round?

rudolph hardie looks like a great value DE in the 6th or 7th round. 71 TT, 10 sacks for div2 howard is still pretty good, and those late picks aren't worth much anyways. |
Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
What does everyone know about Josh Johnson, QB out of San Diego? Played in a pro-style WC under Jim Harbaugh. Possible late rounder?

Maybe. If we could just get are hands on enough heroin to get someone charged with pocession, not dealing, then we slide it into his SUV next to a pair of gloves to explain why his finger prints arent on the bag. Then we call in a tip to the Michigan State police and BOOM!!! Devin Thomas fifth round pick. |

Personally I think it would be great to get Merling out of Clemson then have Thomas/Jordy fall to us in the second round. This pick would really shore up our defensive line as well as getting Vinny his inside pass rusher. Six sacks whoa Nelly. Plus a good DL will go great lengths toward protecting our secondary. |

Of course with the draft you never know. Last year some people said there was little chance that Troy Smith would slip as much as he did. Ryan Kalil, possibly one of the ten best players in last years draft, slipped all the way down to late second round. A few years ago Matt Jones was a first round pick. The Chargers took Craig Davis, LSU's third WR, in the first round last year. Alan Branch, at one point a top 10 pick, slipped all the way to the second round. First pick in the second round but still. I wish I could come up with some more late round example but thats all I have for now. The point is you never know whats going to happen on draft day. |
