Thomas' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Thomas also could have an option to sign and play in 2009.

Bears extend desmond clark (te) for two more years at a total of 5mill$
they also extended re-signed orton for two more years (who cares?)

denver post is reporting we're trying for chad johnson, but javon walker and jerry porter could be fall back options.

all three of those guys have had locker room issues recently, and walker's been injured too, so besides CJ, i'm not sure i'd want them... walker could be a huge steal, since his market value is dreadful right now and he could still be a 1000-1200 yard guy.

Then again, it could be that their agents are merely trying to drive up interest by spreading the word that a deal is done.

Personally I don't doubt that theres some truth to that. However I've learned over the years to take whatever PFT says with a grain of salt. PFT is known for putting a lot of stuff out there, all for the sake of getting readers. In my opinion they're the least credible source for football news and information as seen in their famous "Terry Bradshaw is dead" incident. The group also whines that people keep on steeling their "inside scoops" and if you look on thier website they are the least professional and objective source of information out there.

In all honesty, what kind of professional site has a section entitled "turd watch?"

The team is looking for at least a second-round or a third-round draft pick as compensation for Rogers. Rogers is due a $1 million roster bonus and the team plans to pay that bonus whether trade talks are lingering or not and head coach Rod Marinelli said numerous times that the team will not release Rogers. If the team cannot trade him within the next few weeks they may wait until the 2008 NFL Draft to see if interest for Rogers is still high. The team would hold onto Rogers into training camp if no trades are made.

Foxworth was a third-round selection in 2005.


foxworth for a 3rd is worth considering. andre dyson is another cheap alternative at CB. though draftees like cromartie or tracy porter look pretty good too.

if morris wasn't 33, he'd be a good signing, he's about done now though. givens is interesting... he only upgrades our #4 slot, but if he's going super super super cheap (he tanked last year and missed 11 games), he could take mccardell's spot. mcfarland is definitely still a player, but weight/laziness problems have always been an issue.

bucs are trying to be this offseason's 49ers. coleman is good, but getting older, crumpler can still play (And they NEED a TE). wilson is nuts to think he's getting that much. he's not very good.

Lloyd was designated a June 1 cut for salary cap purposes, according to executive vice president Vinny Cerrato. Lloyd's salary cap figure of $4.2 million will drop to $1.8 million June 1. He will count $5.5 million in dead cap space in 2009.

Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports the Miami Dolphins are showing interest in Detroit Lions DT Shaun Rogers, according to a source close to the situation.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have about $40 million in salary cap space when the free-agent market opens Friday, Feb. 29.


okay, this is tonight's biggest news. the jets have been trying to run a 3-4 with a ton of 4-3 personnel, and it hasn't worked... at all. the #1 they used on a DT is a bust, and they desperately need a nose tackle, which they probably aren't going to find in the draft when they pick... so they need a name or good luck on a lower round pick, and the safer route is obviously more appealing, since they missed badly last time.

meanwhile, the dolphins getting rogers would mean they're looking at either ryan, long, or long... i don't think they have enough to make ryan successful yet, so i'd bet on one of the longs. jason taylor, long, rogers would be crazy, and honestly locks at DE are harder to find. the other long (OT) is VERY safe too... outside chance at mcfadden, but peterson was much better and the guy they got aint bad, so i'm kinda doubting that idea.

I guess signing AND drafting a DT might happen, but traylor (DT) and roth (DE) are the guys that needed to be replaced yesterday.

they'll probably try to sign a WR like berrian and draft a QB like henne or flacco in the top of the 2nd round (one or both should be available).

That was the pick they got for Randy Moss. Perhaps a mistake to mortgage the farm for what they got back.

whats stupid is sometimes WRs take 3-4 years, so he might actually figure it out after being dumped for a bag of chips.

of course, that staff probably has the best knowledge on his potential.
