Salisbury Done at ESPN
I know you're all thrilled...but now you get to see Cris Carter instead
|
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
you got fired smooty

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
What the ****. This was a great thread until you mentioned Chris (Cris Kris? Kristof?) Carter. I didn't mind Salisbury at times because he use to make fun of himself all the time, which made me think he was down to Earth, but after that Clayton incident I went back on my presumption.
Man why do we always have to give Recievers a shot at sportscasting? In my opinion Mark Schlerth and Mike Golic are two of their best commernators, which should encourage them to go after more former lineman. Tom Jackson is also pretty good but he was a Linebacker, nevertheless, go after guys who played in or near the trenches. And as much as I hate PFT, they seem to be right on the money in their criticism of Emmit Smith. Wow this post of mine has like 4 seperate thoughts. |
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
What could he have done worse than the text message photo of his pee-pee?
|
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
NFL Live and Monday afternoon on ESPNews used to be my favorite shows. What else can Heard It Through The Grapevine destroy?
|
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
One bad ex-Viking talking head for another bad ex-Viking talking (whining) head. I'll never forgive "Droopy Dog" for his comments about Monk and the HoF. Carter is a crappy analyst and I hope he doesn't last.

Cris Carter?
Alright I take back everything bad I said about Salisbury. Carter is a huge downgrade. |

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
How in the world did ESPN find a way to get rid of Sean "I'll walk from here to DC" Salisbury and screw it up? Is it really that hard to find talent to do this stuff? I know we are all arm chair QBs about football and should mostly just be ignored for those football opinions but as for sports journalism IT IS ABOUT US. It is about what we like and what we want to watch and I cannot imagine there was a great viewer push for such a dud like Cris Carter. Why is this stuff so obvious to us and so hard for the numb nuts in charge of ESPN and their ilk to understand?

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
both suck, but im glad salisbury is gone. is the reason because of the clayton incident?

They're just aren't many available former NFL players with television experience at the moment. But everything is always "so obvious" to those not involved (and that includes me) |

I am guessing his "body of work" had more to do with it rather than one singular incident. Of course in one incident his "body of work", so to speak, didn't get him fired at the time, which is unbelievable, so maybe they just decided he needed some time to finally get his ass hauling down I95 towards DC as he promised. |

Well, couldn't they have at least made an attempt to bring back Marty? I wonder who else would make a good comentator? It's not like the bar is set high with guys like Hodge and Emmitt. I wish though that they could find more Ron Jaworski types. Sure its fun to tease the way he sounds when he disects plays, but he always brings quality information to the table. On top of that he rarely seems bias. Even when the Skins played the Eagles last year on MNF he seemed to call a fair game. Or maybe they get Jon Miller to switch from Baseball to Football. I also think Steve Young and Tom Jackson are pretty good. Lets see, who else? As stated before I like Golic and Schlerath (sp?). Ray Lewis would be an interesting one. In my opinion Fox has the best group of guys, but then again they only have to work once a week during the season so maybe they just have more energy. |

Carter... Salisbury... Hmmmmm...
I guess Carter is the lesser of two evils. |

they should have got troy aikman or brought back joe theisman. |

Did the Clayton incident do him in???

It was probably that as well as this incident: Sean Salisbury: If Sean Salisbury Asks You To Look At His Phone, Don't Do It |
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
It's not like he's even being considered, but Rick "Doc" Walker deserves the job. I guess he's too decent of a guy. I don't understand why he's toiling through the world of Saturday afternoon Duke vs. N.C. State football games (unless that's what he wants to do), when he has so much more to offer than the previously mentioned hacks (Salisbury, Carter, Aikman, and I'm sorry to say Theismann).

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
This is rather shocking to me. I had no idea anything happened with Clayton. They always seemed to be at each other's throats, but I thought it was for the camera's.
Why was he released or quit SS? |

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Holy crap...nevermind:
The NFL analyst who shall not be named that took a picture of his penis with a cell phone camera and has shown it to numerous, uncomfortable women, then was suspended by his network for it. Absolute true story. Please make sure to clean off the mirror when you are done with it.
Thanks for the link dirtbag. |

http://www.redskinswarpath.com/419026-post5.html As for why he's gone, his contract is up. I don't really know any more details.
Well, calling him the crypt keeper wasn't nice, and I remember that, I just don't remember it being of any issue. I felt they always rib each other, and Salisbury went too far, but they likely resolved it off camera. But that cell phone thing is inexcusable. By the way, that link you gave is priceless. It totally looks like Clayton. http://www.themathlab.com/images/cartoons/1gazoobig.jpg |
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Jeez, did they have to fire him? It's not like he was going around showing his penis to female coworkers.
|
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Wow, three page thread for Sean Salisbury. Looks like we're going to have to "right-size" the ship here.....at the Warpath......where we post.

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
salisbury had other incidents with women from what i recall...
dick vermeil would have been the best choice for replacement. not "in your face," but he's also not retarded, which is a huge plus. |
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
By the way, just to be clear Cris Carter being signed to ESPN doesn't necessarily mean he's replacing Sean Salisbury. Think of it as Carter is simply being added to the roster.
Carter will be pretty busy right off the bat but that doesn't necessarily mean that'll be the case come September. I don't think Vermeil is interested in any extended TV work by the way, TG |

Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water! What next? Roseanne Barr singing the National Anthem????
Ohh, the humanity of it all!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Salisbury fired for showing some woman his penis, and Isiah Thomas costs his company $11,000,000.00 and still has his job. go figure?
|
Re: Salisbury Done at ESPN
Maybe now that Salisbury has some time on his hands, he'll walk to Washington like he promised a few years back.
