Why would you ask that ridiculous question here without searching the internet first? You'll get an answer much faster.

Easy folks, I consider coggs to be a good rival friend here. He was simply looking for a Skins' fan perspective. Let's not be so quick to jump all over someone.

I just think we tend to jump the gun a bit especially on rival fans. Some of them deserve it, some don't. Let's just try to take it easy, that's all.

Actually, I get the same email and posted it. Typical New Yorker who can't read. It just says you get two free if you go:

http://www.redskinswarpath.com/redskins-meetup/22797-pat-fischer-signing-autographs-free.html

Pat was one of the hardest hitting DB's in his day, and a very little guy. He is among the names honored at Fed Ex... he used to eat G-Men for lunch (not enough meat on them for dinner).

Maybe he just figured it would have been easier to just go to Wikipedia (Pat Fischer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) since that is probably more information than you would get by starting a thread to ask the question. To each his own, but its really not that hard to see where Schneed is coming from here.

dont trust wikipedia as anyone can post stuff. My guess is Shneed owns stock in Google and wants everyone to utilize their services. Then again, I have also seen him/her/it complain about spelling and grammar. My guess is he is just a whiny b!tch.

While I wouldn't go putting Wikipedia in my research footnotes, it is actually a very good site for getting quick information. I used to be skeptical of the idea, but I've definitely come around on the site as a quick reference tool (albeit with limitations). I haven't come across any entries that are totally bogus (not to say that don't exist) and when people do post erroneous stuff it is usually corrected in fairly short order. Get with the democratic spirit! I think Wikipedia is actually a good illustration of the potential benefits of the internet (simultaneously, students citing Wikipedia, or worse yet plagiarizing from it, illustrates some of the pitfalls).

Also, if you haven't noticed, "anyone" can post stuff here as well :)

Sorry Coggs, people are a little testy now-a-days.LOL. See DS has not been making the big money splashes he usually does and has taken a totally different approach to his team now. He picks up a low profile HC and Co-ordinators. He's not spending like crazy in free agency......people are "Freakin out man," because the "Snauzberries taste like Snauzberries."

We don't need to start thumping our chests here. It's okay to just let it go

Re: Pat Fischer?

SC, wikipedia usually is pretty good. But, like I said. I want info on redskins I come here. I am one of the leading posters in terms of numbers on a Rangers board, and anytime someone comes around asking about a Ranger of yesteryear, the thread gets many many many replies. Not one of which says to go to google.

Two little known facts:

Pat's nickname was "Mouse" due to his small stature

He was Thiesman's roommate Joe's first year with the Redskins

Strange set of values on this thread.

We're supposed to lay off other teams fans, but apparently they are free to abuse our fans without getting a lecture.

Schneed quite rightly pointed out the best place to find out about Pat Fischer is by Googling for him and in reply he gets verbally abused on three occasions without anybody batting an eyelid.

WTF?

Probably because asking members of a Redskins fan site about an old time Redskin didn't seem all that out of line.

He didn't ask our opinion of him he asked who he was. I agree with Schneed. If you want to know WHO someone is then I would google it. I think it is a dumbass way to find out WHO someone is to ask a forum about it when the answer is literaly less than 1 second away by using Google. It actually is quite dumb if you think about it. And I don't care who coggs is. It has nothing to do with him being Giants fan. I would point out he has been the abusive one in this thread.

He's one of my brother-in-law's favorites too. It was something to see him at about 5' 7" and Harold Carmichael (sp?) at about 6' 6" go at it.
