Parcells sensing a bad year perhaps...
Did anyone else see the interview with parcells on sport center yesterday. They kept showing it a lot, they were interviewing him and parcells goes, "All these reports keep saying you need a qb, well no f&$*#($ Sh#$ you need a QB, but its not like you call up a 1800 number to get one" (or somethign like that)
The press seems to be really getting to him, and with the controversey now with cutting Carter...id say look for the cowboys to fall big this year and easily take the bottom of the division. I think the Giants still have a lot of talent and are better than the cowboys. hopefully they will both fight for last. (eagles fans, im not trying to leave anyone out, you can fight for the bottom to!) |
I agree. If they don't get a QB then they're done. Eddie George is washed up, so is Vinny, and so is Meshawn. Their defense is the only positive they have this season.
|
I heard that clip, it was pretty damn funny I must say.
He has a point though. He knows he needs a QB, but it's not like they grow on trees. But even with QC his QB situation wasn't great. Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't go after someone in the draft, free agency, etc. I think Henson will be the starter sooner rather than later. Vinny knows the game but he's just too limited physically to get it done. |
Give Parcells some credit, he's bound for the hall of fame. He knows how to produce a winner. They were 10-6 last year....they could still duplicate that...the worst I could see a Parcells team going is 8-8..
|
Bozzy, I always hope to see the Cowboys 5-11 or worse but if we beat them twice this season I'd take them being 8-8.
|
I see the Cowgirls at 8-8 or 9-7 at best.....more likely 5-11 or 6-10.
|
Parcells is a master manipulator, and one of the most negative sounding coaches ever. Don't let him fool you: he'll field a competitive team, one that has a great D and takes few risks on offense. Until we beat them on the field, they are a better team, much as I HATE to say that.
|
:dallas:
I just hope we finally sweep them, what a great way that would be to bring in the new gibbs era!! |
how is Vinny washed up? he had a 91 QB rating last season, he can still ge the job done. but i hope to see them at the bottom.
|
The Cowboys, quite possibly, have the slowest backfield in the NFL this year in Vinnie and Eddie George. However, they're both veterans and I wouldn't be surprised to see them win some games they shouldn't. Parcells is a good coach and the Cowboys will be competitive, if nothing else. Let's not count our chickens, but I must admit I like that 18-0 score.

What I meant was that Vinny ain't the same Vinny from before. Same as George, and Johnson. |
I ain't buying it, Vinny will perform better than Carter, and Julius jones is going to be a very good back for them, Parcell's is just laying in the weed's waiting to pounce on team's.
Giant's will be the bottom dweller's this year in the east, still no offensive line, Tiki still can't hang on to the ball, and Dayne is going no where fast, add in QB problem's, warner is going to get pummled this year, and Manning need's expierience. |
You can get your hopes all you want on how bad the cowturds are going to be. They can loose every game but when we play them nothing else matters and throw the records out the window and get ready for war. We seen that back in 90. Who would of thought that the cowpukes would of been that good last year.
|
Parcell's stupidy outweights his arrogance. That's why Carter was released with a forty-year old QB replacing him. The old folks you to say, "you never know a good thing until it's gone." We Want Dallas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Vinny although he had good numbers last year made BAD decisions. I rember watching the opener and the number of times he quickly checked down to the third/dump off reciever was astounding especially considering that he would do that on third downs with deaper recievers open stopping them short on series after series.
|
Well, I mean..I don't think QC was nearly THAT good of a QB, but he seemed to be getting better or at least a bit more consistant....I mean heck, if he can QB a team to the playoffs, then that speaks volumes....I think Henson, though, will be starting before the season is out. Heck..I will even say by the fourth game this season, he'll start.
|
i dont guys, its easy to say that they will probably start Henson before the season is out, but Jerry Jones might not want him to. Look what luck they have already had with throwing baseball players into the game. I think they want to let this guy learn for a year, get back into form, and then hopefully step in like pennington did. This was their plan, it might change becuase carter is gone but I dont think they want to rush things with him

Beats having the stupidest and most limited in QC and Shatbrick from last year |
Well. even though it was the Raiders, over top 2 QB's completed nearly 75% of their passes...we ran the ball very well with Jones and George who combined for 20 carries and 84 yards and a TD
Its amazing how good our WR's look when they have a QB they believe in Our OL is WAAAAAAAAAYYYY ahread of even the most ardent Cowboys supporter thought it wold be..4/5 of our OL is set, and Larry Allen is looking better than he has since the late 90's Believe it or not, our offense is ahead of our D.. We have major problems @ RCB, S (Woodson's out and his replacement Dixon is worse than awful) and DT where we have been gashed by surefire 1st ballot HOF'er Tony Hollings, Ty Wheatley and Justin Fargas Getting Woodson back, DT Leo Carson healthy and CB Pete Hunter experience will go a long way. While Wiley hasnt been great, he is a major upgrade over departed Ebenezer Ekuban |

Parcells was easily able to deal with a coked up LT. Why can't he deal with QC?

Testaverde was 13-17 for 124 yards last nite with 0 ints @ Houston he was 4-7 for 35 yards with no INT's What was that fat, arrogant, stupid Parcells thinking when he released QuINTcy Retarder? |
So I guess you're a Larry Allen fan then...
What's the scoop on Antonio Bryant? You think he could finally have a breakout year? |

Talent |
Parcells was easily able to deal with a coked up LT. Why can't he deal with QC?
QC had marginal talent LT was a HOF'er Lets put it this way...wWould Antonio Bryant still be a Cowboy after throwing his Jersey in Parcells face if he wasnt talented? QC had recently failed his 2nd drug test. Combine this with with his lack of maturity when he pouted about not getting a majority of the reps well after BP said "this is an open QB competition" Then, after BP had announced this once again @ the beginning of camp, QC, a day later said, This isnt an open competition..Im the starter" openly defying BP He even got in the face of OC Sean Payton and had a very spirited b!tchfest the nite before he got cut Now, QC's talent...whose roster is he on right now? soon to be in the CFL |

What's the scoop on Antonio Bryant? You think he could finally have a breakout year?
I love LA...LA is gonna return to form in a BIG way this year And AB? Absolutely..check out a couple if the clips I posted a a few replies up.. He had one catch on the left side line that was tremendous |
LT is a hall of famer
QC is mediocre at best It's a double standard but that's life in pro sports |
Let me say from the start that I do not suspect that Drew Henson will play much for the Cowboys this year; and if he is forced to play a lot, the Cowboys will struggle. He's not ready yet.
However, if you take a look, Henson is playing well in the exhibition games. In the first two games he is 15-26 for 147 yards. That's about 10 yards per completion which is good and about 6 yards per attempt which is about average. Before someone screeches that he has only played against the opposition's scrubs, that is true. However, when Ramsey played against an opponent's scrubs, he didn't do anywhere near this well and no one here scorched his ass. Also, remember that Henson kept Tom Brady on the bench at Michigan and Brady says that Henson is a helluva player. I think we need to keep our eye on Mr, Henson down there in Cowgirlville. |
I think Henson will eventually play this season. Vinny will either get hurt, or Parcells will bench him.
|
I say Henson plays sooner rather than later.
|
I second Matty...no question Henson plays.
|
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they put in Romo if (when) Vinny gets hurt. A buddy of mine that is insane (i.e. a Cowboys fan) actually said he'd prefer that....I haven't really paid much attention to them. But even then, Henson will still probably get in there sometime this season.
:dallas: |
well, if they finally got that leaky QB/RB situation fixed this offseason, they have a shot... their secondary seems down right now though ;)

Henson 8/11 94 0 1 Preseason game 2: D. Henson 7/9 53 0 0 Thats 15-20...75% completion percentage, 7.35 per attempt The INT @ Houston was a classic rookie mistake..Henson eyeballed his intended target and the Houston defender read Hensons eyes right to the ball Although Henson didnt throw for a TD against the Raiders, Henson lead the Cowboys to their 1st preseason TD and completed 2 passes on the drive..Julius Jones did the rest on the ground |
Henson was amazing in college football. cade McNown was probably the best ever college qb, thats ive seen atleast. He used to throw for 500 yards a game without blinking, then did nothing in the NFL.
Im posing the argument in this thread that what you did in college means nothing, at the same time in another thread im talking about how dorsey will be great. This is a good example of a qb being physically gifted, versus just having a lot of mental toughness and knowing how to make plays. |

The only bad thing Henson did was delay his NFL career by 3 years while whiffing on curveballs |
A quick update for you guys on Cowboy happenings today
I havent checked the threads but FYI, we signed Chad Eaton today... As I have mentioned previously we have been getting gashed on the interior run...,our young DT's (outside Glover) have been underwhelming so far in camp Jean-Jacques Taylor mentioned today he heard our PK Billy Cundiff was going to be a Jaguar by the end of the day...We signed former Giants PK Matt Bryant 2 week ago and Bryant has been $$ ever since he was signed Parcells and JJ are mulling trade offers for one of our RB's...no mention of who Jones and Anderson are locks...George, Rashard Lee and Aveion Cason are thought to be the guys...IMHO, most likely George or Cason |
Yesterday was the best day of passing we’ve had since I’ve been the coach of the Cowboys. For everyone, and they were throwing into the wind. We cut a period short because it was so good.
:headbange :headbange |
