Should I get an 360 or PS3 ???
 

Okay well I think it's time for me to go ahead and step my Video Game status up a bit. I have a Wii and all but that doesn't count. I've been loyal to Sony but the 360 is so tempting. F'n Halo !

So I'm thinking about the PS3 because of Blu-Ray and I want to say that I read that Microsoft was coming out with another XBox soon. So can you help me out on which one I should go with ?

If you like gaming with potentially thousands of others on an incredible network...360 is the way to go. If you want to watch Blu Ray movies...go with the PS3.

ive got a 360 (that's taken a shit on me on 2 different occasions) I'm going to get a ps3, pretty soon. My father in law has one and I like it a lot. I'm not as fond of the controller layout, but gameplay, graphics, sound, and overall hardware seems superior.

I have had a terrible time getting the blutooth headset to work in gameplay on the ps3

So basically all the PS3 has that is better than the 360 is the blu-ray thing ? See I don't know if there is going to be another XBox to come out in the next year or was the Elite one the newest ? And along with that if I go Xbox do I want the upgrade or am I fine with the regular one ?

I think the blue ray, hdmi support, built in wifi, and bluetooth make it a far superior set of hardware. The xbox live community is nice, though. I'm not sure what "home" will offer from playstation... It looked nicer than live on the demos

I think the big question is what kind of games you are going to be playing and whether you plan to play those games online or not.

I think the biggest deciding factor should be what type of games you are into. If you prefer more American style first person shooters and multiplayer games, Xbox is far superior. It's got better exclusives and superior online service. If you are more interested in Japanese RPG's and one-player story based games - think Final Fantasy 13 or Metal Gear 4 - then PS3 is the better bet.

As far as the technology goes, PS3 is theoretically the better system, although developers haven't come close to harnessing that potential and there is a lot of doubt that they will ever truly be able to. Most games released for both systems look better on XBOX imo but I think that gap is narrowing.

Get an Xbox. My opinion is a little biased but I'm not impressed with the PS3 or home. Not to mention the console exclusive titles. If you get a ps3 you will NEVER play Gears of war or Halo.

Well I do like the American Style of RPG's. I do like Metal Geat but F'N HALO IS THE SHYT !!!! I play Madden of course and of course I'd play Halo. Grand Theft is on the XBox as well. So I guess the XBox will be my choice. I guess I can get a Blu-Ray player in due time. Thank you all for your help I think the 360 is going to be my choice. Should I go with the 512 MB for $349.99 or the 120 GB for $449.99 ?

I'n guessing the 512 will be fine but just wondering what opinions you all may have of them.

Personally I have the 20gb, but the Elite wasn't around when I got mine. 120GB would be overkill for me since I dont download any games on my hard drive from online or store any music or videos. I wouldn't recommend the 512mb though. If I remember correctly its just a memory card so if you're playing Madden or any other game that requires a lot of memory you will fill it up in no time. i really like my 360, but I want a hi def dvd, so i'll buy the ps3 because blu ray won out that battle, and its within a couple of hundred bucks of the ps3 anyway.... may as well just get one...

plus the 360 keeps dying on me with that ring of light garbage. I'm a gta nut, and havent even seen the game yet because 2 days before it came out the xbox went dead...

My 360 has never died. While playing assassins creed i use to let it run all night.

Does that make me lucky?

Mine died once (Exchanged it same day since I bought an extended warranty through CompUSA) but supposedly that problems been fixed. I've actually seen a business in my area that fixes the ring of death for like 50-75 bucks depending on the location. From what I understand something gets too hot and comes un-soldered on the board.

Get a 360, mine died once too but it is so much more fun then PS3. I have PS3 and it sits in it's box. It's final mission will be to play MGS4 then it will be proudly displayed on eBay for the highest bidder.

Halo 3, COD 4, GOW, BioShock, and GOW 2 a lone should make you want this system. Plus I love Live much better then PS3 on-line.

I have the 360 and I definitely recommend it. However, be sure to buy a replacement plan just in case. The later models don't have the problems that the earlier ones did, but I wouldn't risk it.

Not sure if you will need 120GB but definitely go with the 20GB hard drive at the least. You'll need it in order to download demos and other content.

I think that's a pretty good deal, I would think.

I think people give PS3 a pretty bad wrap. MLB The Show, is a damn good game available only for the PS3, GTA is also far less likely to crash (apparently) on the PS3 v. 360.

If Madden is actually 60fps this year instead of 30fps, then I think the PS3 will be just as comparable to the 360.. Or at least slowly making some progress.

I haven't had GTA IV freeze on me one time on the 360. The online MP is definately a winner with the 360 as PS is light years behind.

If its about the movies, then go with the PS3! If its about the gaming, take the 360 with no questions asked! Just my opinion.

mmm 360, Xbox live sells it if the game dont (which they should becuase there are some good exclusives and ps3 really doesnt have any of those anymore). BTW for those of you that play live send me a friend request xHSx Goose. Im mostly CoD4 right now but between my brother and I we have a lot of popular titles to play. I am always looking for more people to play with and if they are skins fans thats a plus.

Just get a 1080p upconverting DVD Player and get a 360. Save the Blu Ray until it comes down in price...especially if you don't have a HDTV, or if your HDTV is less than 50 inches...

Seriously leave those games in your memory, they play best there. I went back and played some old's but goodies and I now realize how far we have come.

Pitfall and River Raid are just simply horrible now! Back i nthey day they were awesome, nearly failed out of Middle School palying so much!

I enjoyed Baseball on my Atari 5200 system back in the mid 80's. I surely spent way too much time playing that game (little stick figures).
