Anyone here from Arkansas?
Recently I received a job offer at a powder metal plant in Arkansas, and I was wondering if anyone on here was from Arkansas and if so, what can you tell me about living there?
|
Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
where?
|
Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
Nope but I have been there, if you are coming from the north you won't like it and they won't like you (yankee).

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
Powder Metal Plant? Sounds like a death trap, even more so if it's in Arkansas.

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
I hunted there as a kid and hitch-hiked through it en route from KC mo. to mid louisiana. It was the worst place I had to travel through. Little rock is pretty violent and the state is poverty stricken. Imagine west VA but with deep south summer temps, zero beautiful foliage due to temps and abundance of pine trees, and rude dipshit people.
Fuck arkansas. I would wipe my ass with arkansas every day if I could somehow turn it and all of the people in it into toilet paper. Worst. State. Ever. Good luck with that. |

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
Hmmm ... a powder metal plant doesn't sound like the type of place where you'll be able to slack off by spending inordinate amounts of time on the Warpath. Sure you want to do this? ;)

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
What the heck is a Powder Metal Plant? What does it produce? Doesn't sound like a place you should prance around without a mask.

You can produce just about anything out of powder metal, at the plant I work at we make gears, sprockets, and connecting rods all for the automotive industry. At other powder metal plants they make components for tractors, sewing machines, mixers, and so on. JETSONNNN!!!!!!! Lol.

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
Seriously, how is it 2008 and we don't have that robot that automatically dresses, showers and shaves you in the morning. That's bullshit. Also, no meals in capsule form. What a disappointment.

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
I just thought it was hilarous to hear the word sprocket.

Re: Anyone here from Arkansas?
I drove through Arkansas on HWY 40 and it was the worst part of the HWY from D.C to C.A! I understand that roads go under construction from time to time. But they left the biggest pot holes in the open lanes I have ever seen on a major HWY.
My only suggestion would be to get a 4X4 before you move.;) |

I think it depends on what you like to do. Hunt, fish, do country boy stuff. you should be a happy man. Your not far from the Ozarks.....very nice country. If you are more of a city boy...........take your ipod and a few game systems.............cause your really gonna' hate it. If your serious, go check it out. If your an outdoor enthusiast and don't need much mall time, AR has a lot to offer |

That must have been an easy sell at home. "Honey, grab the kids and pack up the suitcases. We're moving to Paris!" |
