Santana Moss' Season to Date
12 catches, 201 yards, 2 TDs.
It's too small of a sample to extrapolate over the season, but if we were to, it would come to 1608 yards and 16 TDs. He won't get to those numbers, but I just wanted to show just how good he's been in the two games we played. And he will have a tough go against the Arizona secondary next week, but he was a gamebreaker today. |

Gotta figure at some point the rookies and Cooley will get more involved. Nonetheless, if he stays healthy and the offense can continue to progress, he has a very good shot at his best season as a pro. |
re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
He was written off for failing to reproduce his 2005 numbers. It's looking like, however, reports of his demise might have been greatly exaggerated.

re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
He needs to catch the ball when it's thrown to him and we need to throw more slats his way. If he does his part and the coaches do their part he can easily have a 1200 yard 10TD season.

re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Gotta love the way this offense seems to be geared to get the ball in his hands as much as possible. He seemed to be a forgotten guy around here after 2005 at times.

Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Let's not get too excited. He scorched a 3rd string secondary, I am happy, but not impressed.

Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Like Matty I'm more impressed that we seem to be intent on getting the ball into our good players hands. I did think Betts sorta stank on ice yesterday whenever we gave him the ball but when it mattered most we got the ball to Portis, Moss and Cooley. These are our playmakers and as good as they have been we never seem to really focus on getting them ball in the past, despite the lip talk to the contrary.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING? ARE YOU AFRAID THAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU? WELL, GUESS WHAT? I CAN'T! |
Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Santana had a bad year last year. I think he is the key to stretching the field to open up the run. we need more of that long play stuff early in games. The offense looked like it was to conservative early on.

Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
I was more impressed with ARE jumping over Moss while standing straight up in the end zone after the play.

No problem. |
Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Well we played some shit secondaries the last few seasons also and Moss never got the ball like this so I'd say the argument that their secondary sucked so the accomplishments mean little is misguided.

Good point, but do you expect the same type of production out of Moss next week against Arizona? They have a pretty decent secondary. |
Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Yeah I am not ready to crown him yet, looks great so far but lets get into week 5 or 6 and then we can make a call.

[COLOR=black][FONT=Verdana][COLOR=black][FONT=Verdana]Yep.. once we had the Al Saunders offense he seemed to disappear.. but he was hurt too, first with hamstring then his bad foot. Now he is resurfacing. I couldn't be happier. Moss is a play maker. If he gets that ball he'll do everything he can to break free and then it's all the way to the endzone. Best play ARE made all day. lol |
Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
I believe he has a good look about him again. Maybe he's finally healthy or maybe he's finally connecting with J.C. Either way I like it. By the way did anyone notice the terrible no call when Aaron Glenn threw him to the ground. I hate zebras

Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
One thing that is working for him is that underneath crossing route. He has made good gains the last two weeks with that one. Could be this years "bubble screen"...
|
Re: Santana Moss' Season to Date
Good to see him producing again. I was pretty critical of him after last year and I didn't feel like he played a very good first game either. (Not that he was alone.) It seemed he had a few drops in the Giants game, but I don't recall him dropping anything yesterday, great game from him that's starting to get him out of the dog house with me.

Yes but he is SUPPOSED to do that. I hope he keeps up the offensive production and fulfills his role of our "go to" guy, and show all of us who doubted him. |

"Happy, but not impressed" is supposed to come off as "he did what he was supposed to do". If you would like however, I can go back to grade school and re-learn the American version of the English language. I too hope that he keeps this production up. I would love to see a repeat of his 2005 season. I am still not impressed with his numbers thus far though. If nothing else, the production they had Sunday should have boosted the confidence of Moss, Campbell, and the rest of the offense. I hope that it was a turning point for the Redskins offensively thanks to a "tune up" provided by the NO bench. Only time will tell though. |
