Re: Around the NFL week 3
Watching Gmen v Bengals in OT on Sky Sports. Hoping Gmen go 3 and out again and give ball back to Bengals in good field position.
I was listening to them following the Phins/Pats game and figured they had piled up the yardage on the Pats, but Gamecentre makes it look like the Phins simply got good field position most of the game. Anyone watched that one? |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Oh well, Bengals rookie D'backs finally blew it. Gmen inside 10 and look dead cert to score.
There goes the FG - Gmen 3-0. :( I reckon if we want to make the playoffs this season, we can't afford to do worse than splitting our games in the East. We need to beat the Gmen when we face them again (and looking at Cincy, we can certainly do it now) and we have to win at least one against the Pokes and Iggles. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Marvin Lewis has issues. He'll probably be fired even before the season is over.

Lol, you want to put money on that. Brown can't even trade disgruntled players what makes you think hes going to fire the only coach thats brought him to the playoffs since forever before the seasons over? |

With their injuries in the D backfield and a weak OL, I can't see him going unless they really stink from here on out. They were close to winning this game, but for both of these factors. The Gmen are good, but I don't think they are that good. Best NFC team could well be the Packers, particularly if they beat the Pokes tonight. I think all of the NFC East teams have/will struggle against good Defenses. Difference for us and Gmen is our D is better than the Pokes and Iggles, but Gmen have mean pass rush. If they get their O together, I think they'll win the division. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Marvin will last the season but expect him to be gone by New Years Day. Cinci will be 4-12 and I look for one of the Ryan brothers to be the HC there.

True Bengals went to the playoffs a couple of years ago, but I think Marvin has vastly underachieved. He was supposed to be this great defensive guru and they are terrible on that side of the ball- injuries or not. I can't speak for Brown, but I'd can his ass. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Just watched the Vikes/Panthers highlights. Way to go Gus!
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
the eagles are bitch slapping ben rothlisberger as we speak.6 sacks in 9 plays.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Brandon Lloyd 124 yards????? WTF?
I knew he had talent, I took a lot of crap for sticking up for him here...then I finally jump off his bandwagon and he does well...what a jerk! |
Re: Around the NFL week 3

New canadian team??? ;) Hope he's OK. I hate to hear about neck injuries no matter who it is. I never forget those, it's a football players worst nightmare. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
mcnabb did not come out after the half

Re: Around the NFL week 3
If Dallas wins at GB tonight, the entire NFC East will be undefeated in non-division games after 3 weeks. Is there any doubt that the NFC East is the best division? Whoever advances to the playoffs from the East will be battle tested for sure.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
nfc east is representing.
miami and the falcons aren't dead this year. browns and bengals are, pretty much in line with my pre season predictions (huge swings in strength of schedule are the single biggest factor in W/L ratios from year to year, and all 4 had giantic swings besides the good personnel moves by miami and luck of the falcons to have ryan play well immediately). |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Looks like Dallas struck gold with Felix Jones -- he just busted out a 60-yard TD run.
Green Bay's secondary is laying the smacketh downeth on Owens, Witten, and Co. Aaron Rodgers looks like he's been playing pro football for about ten years. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Felix Jones is a home run hitter, he's pretty scary in the open field.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
damn pacman sure does some great coverage
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
field goals not td's is killing gb
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Dallas looks really impressive. Boo.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
That last pass TD was offensive pass interference!
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
They're running all over a good Packer D. We better tighten up up front before next weekend. Tomorrow morning starts Dallas week people.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
gb has a good D, and while dallas's offense isn't as good as what brady and manning WERE running, it's the best of what's left due to injuries.
i would sooo love for this to turn into a normal washington/dallas game... you know, the one where cooley has 3 tds in the first half, where we decide we want to play the last 4 minutes and put up 14, where we get a freakish ball hawk/return/facemask/field goal after time expires... not so much the one were we're down a hall of famer and TO rampages through our secondary for 4 TDs :/. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
GB definitely has a good D but they were missing Harris for a good chunk of the game and Bigby was out too.

I think the Packers were so concerned with the pass, they probably decided that if they're going to lose, they'll lose because of Marion Barber. It's almost what we saw with Edgerrin James -- they ran really well because we were keyed up for the aerial attack. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Brandon Lloyd 6 catches for 124 yds w/ 1TD. More than he did in a couple years here.
|
Re: Around the NFL week 3
It seems like we're gonna be treated to another great Monday Night game for the second week in a row.
SD lead the Jets 17 - 14 early in the 2nd. |
Re: Around the NFL week 3
Great game! Thank you Jets for Randy Thomas and Santana Moss. You can keep Laverneus.
