Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Jason Campbell looks good when he has time and he connects with Moss and Thomas on several 25+ yard passes. Unfortunately, the Redskins O-line is under siege virtually all afternoon.
The Redskins D has a tough time pressuring Romo and containing Witten, TO and Barber and surrender 400 yards. On a brighter note, Rocky McIntosh and Carlos Rogers continue to impress fans with their quick recoveries. The Redskins keep it close and earn respect around the league, but ultimately lose 30-24. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
We win in a shootout to shock the world.
38-31 |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
I say that Campbell keeps his hot hand, at least until we have to play in Philly.
We score 24, they score more. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
I don't have a good feeling about this game. We lose 24-13.
|
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
They have weapons, we have as many weapons (some unproven, but will make themselves be know). They have talent, we have talent. What makes them more special than us? The way I see it, the team that makes the least mistakes and capitalizes in the red zone, will win. I don't like making predictions and always root for the Redskins. We can't look at the Cowboys as unbeatable or be intimidated, the Skins have to play as if it was a playoff game which it's basically what it is. We lose and we fall 2 games back and then there's next week.
Go Skins!! |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
2 weeks in a row no prediction, 2 back to back wins. I predict that I won't be predicting this week. Hopefully its enough mojo to keep the win streak going.

If the defense can limit the Dallas O to under 20 points I like our chances.

I agree. If we are going to have a chance at winning this game, we will have to play hard on both sides of the ball, and we need some plays on Special Teams. If we can put up 24-28 points on them, regardless of the outcome....I'm a semi-happy man. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Our run D vs. their run game scares me a bit. With that said, the Skins have risen to the occassion against Dallas the last 3-4 years. That trend will continue this week.
Redskins 31 Dallas 28 Portis runs for 135 and 2 TD Moss has 90yds rec and 1 TD Andre Carter and Demetric Evans wreak havoc on Tony Romo. (3 sacks and a ton of pressure). The Skins are poised to shock the world this year. Can you feel it baby? I can too! (Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch!). LOL. HAIL!! |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
I think it will be a close game that could come down to OT, after that...who knows.

Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Rain check on my prediction. We need to dominate all 4 quarters of football. No team has yet to do that to the cowboys this season. Time of possession and no turnovers is key in this game. Blache needs to brew up the greatest defensive game plan ever for us to win this game. And our Offense needs to play a turnover free game. Romo must eat turf early and often. I'm to superstitious to make a prediction this week.
|
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Slugfest. This will come down to who can outmuscle the opponent for most of the game.
Then I think TO gets one big play on us, and the Cowboys' deep secondary limits our receivers from getting any big plays. That ends up being the difference. I think Cowboys take this one, but we'll see about the matchup later at FedEx. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Just want to say..>I am a cowboys fan.....and I read here time to time and just wanted to say how refreshing it is to read a thread like this...just great fans...intelligent conversation...people that can discuss a rivalry with a lot of passion. So salute...good luck this week....been so many injuries everywhere this year just hoping for an clean, injury free game. Enjoy your week..your team. Also wanted you guys to know....just made a post on my own board...that we haven't forgotten Sean either.

Ball control is key for us. Blache must be at the top of his game and win the chess-match with Garrett. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Portis must have a HUGE game for the Skins to stay in this one. Dallas will score some points as they have one of the best offenses in the league. Unfortunately I think the 3-4 defense of the Cowboys will be a little much for our continually improving offense.
Dallas 28 Skins 20 |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
I've been close on my scores and right about my outcomes thus far this season.
Moss is on fire and so is cooley. Devin thomas is poised to have his breakout game. Campbell will throw his first pick and TO will score one TD. Dallas will rush for one (felix jones cuts outside and breaks a long one due to overpersuit). Witten may see the endzone but they won't post over 26pts on us. We will drop our first 30burger of the season. They'll probably start overcommitting to a short zone, not concerned about out long game, which has a dimension no one has seen yet in thomas. Once they adjust we'll have them. 31-24 skins is my official prediction. Were getting better and I'm not seeing improvement in them. Btw @ the dallas fan: thanks for the classy showing! Almost makes me feel bad our men have to go put a hurtin' on your boys this weekend. Almost ;) |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
The name of the game is time of possession. If we sustain long demoralizing drives against their D, and get a couple of turnovers we WILL win this game. I dont care if TO burns us at some point, as long as we march back down the field the game will be ours. If we do these things:
30-28 Redskins But If we allow their Defense to stall us, and turnover the ball at all this game is a blow out: 42-21 Dallas |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
28 - 24 Skins win baby. Suck it cowboys fans! (with all due respect...)
|
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
We win by one point thats all I care about. I know this sounds simple but its what I posted when Moss burned them with to late TD'd to win by one point so this is what I've been sticking with since that game.

Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
You know what kinda sucks? Even if the Skins win this game, the stories on Monday will all be about how Dallas lost... not how the Redskins won. Oh well, I would take it either way.

Well even if its about how Dallas lost it will also be about how the Skins beat them so it really does not matter. |

Yup. Much of the media is stating the cards beat themselves with turnovers and penalties. were the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFC east |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
This is the one matchup that a true Skins fan can never pick against their team.
Look at the history of this rivalry...even when one of the teams has a HORRIBLE record (remember the 1-15 Cowboys of '89?), both teams have a chance to win this game no matter how they're played the rest of the league. It's almost always a good game and brings out the best in players from both teams, as well as the worst in the fans. :) So I will not make myself nauseas and even give the Cowboys a chance. Skins all the way. We win 34-20. Vote to ban any Skins fan picking Dallas. :D Does someone want to second the motion? |

Not a problem LOL There are no guarantees and no easy games in the NFC East, I love this division. For me...depends on what Dallas team shows up. They can be one of the best teams out there or they can play sloppy. I was reading an article this morning in the Dallas News ....saying people were praising Phillips for having the Dallas team ready for the short week with the Eagles and all I could think is............isn't that his job? I think we have the talent, but we're also not always prepared and penalties are still killing us. That eagles game was a nail biter and i think this one will be too |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
That's ridiculous. The Cards didn't beat themselves with that INT. Torrence made a great play, and Rogers made an even better play.
And since when did the Skins get credit for anything? 2005 vs Dallas? We'd have to have a game like that to really get some attention. What annoys me even more is that all the boys fans say last December was a meaningless game that their starters didn't even play in. I remember that most of their starters played the entire first half, and Romo stayed into the 3rd quarter just for the Cowboys completions record (I think). When Romo was pulled, the score was 20-3. Cowboys fans are in for a surprise if they think the boys will blow us out. -- Skins 34 Boys 31 |
I don't have a good feeling about this game. We lose 24-13.
thats my thinking too and it could get ugly since we are in dallas.... this is going to be a tough 2 weeks for the skins and we will find out real quick how far they have come in zorns offense and the overall scheme of things. |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
It will be a great game. Cowboys light it up for 10 points early and then start to bask in their own glory. Meanwhile, they also make some mistakes early in the game that allow the Skins to stay in it. 17-10 (Cowboys) at halftime. Cowboys stumble through the third quarter scoring three more while the skins offense finds its groove (and the end zone). 20-17 going into the fourth.
Fourth quarter fight - Skins continue their ground assult on a tired Cowboy defense but can't convert it into points. Cowboys start finding Witten down the seam and put the skins on their heals. First possession leads to a Cowboys field goal. Laron Landry finally gets tired of this, makes a quick break, and gets the crutial INT setting up the skins final TD. Final score 24-23 skins. HAIL! |

I've been looking for pics of the scoreboard from that 2005 game. The only one I found was the one of Parcells (a classic) Thank you for posting that.

From my personal collection. Lucky enough to be at both games :) |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
I made the Bledsoe sackfest in '05, but I didn't get a chance to go last year. Just made the bears game last year.

Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Dallas is just too explosive on offense right now and I think their o-line handles our d-line.
Dallas 27 Wash 17 |
Re: Predictions: Redskins @ Cowboys
Howdy yalls! (I just talk like that to maintain the Texas stereotype. LOL)
I think my Cowboys have the better team. However, I'm about a million years old and hence know that talent levels seldom have any impact on a Redskins-Cowboys game. 3 weeks ago, I predicted a big win by the Cowboys. Now, however, I like (uhh...not really LIKE. LOL) the way the Skins offense is gelling. So, I'm still predicting a Cowboys victory, but in FAIRLY close game...10 points maybe...but one of those closer than the final score will indicate games. |

... Vote to ban any Skins fan picking Dallas. :D Does someone want to second the motion?
Well, I would consider myself a true Skins fan, I picked them every game so far based on a somewhat rational :) belief in the Skins. but in the poll I picked the other team :vomit: I think the best thing the Skins have going for them is Zorn, I think he gets the rivalry thing and knows a win here will be BIG. If he and JC get in a rhythm like the last few weeks we will win, but my head over heart says: **** 24 Skins 20 |
