Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I think its official...Jason is franchise qb material. Now of course, i want to see him continue to develop, but he's really proven (in different offenses) that he play the qb position. Now, we just need to keep it going. I can envision JC our QB for the next 7-10 years...he's going to be the face of this team.

Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
don't you mean "Jason Candle" (ok I love those stupid commercials). JC is certainly making good on his pro bowl comments!
|
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
Indeed..we gotta lock him up.

Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
What about Colt!?!111 :D
|
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I think this thread is funny, and I know all of you other JC lovers that never doubted him do too. To those of you who chanted "we wan't colt", what's up now? haha. I love it!!

Campbell sucks he holds the ball too long, lock in to one receiver, runs into sacks, turnover king!!! LMAO!!! If some of you could only go back and read what you wrote after the week 1 lost!!! |

Haha! My point exactly. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I have to say that I thought JC was going to be a bust after that Giants game, and the fact that he seemed to still hold the ball to long. ( He did not turnover the ball in that game though, which was better than all of his fumbles and ints last year. ) AND I know you guys remember him losing games for us last year in the fourth quarter.
Basically I am very glad to see that alot of what I had heard and had seen in the preseason and training camp about Jason has been true. And my god he has made an amazing turn around since the first week. I can really tell that JC has stayed in control all game and very focused on the game. Zorn is to thank for that. He really coaches him up!! So yes I think he is Franchise material. Sign him to a long term deal. |

I have never written him off but as others had doupts and it was not just after his week one loss. If you can honestly say you never had a duopt then I'd say you never realy watched some of the very bad plays he made. I said give him until mid season before ruling him out but did have very serious concerns about his playing. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
He's playing great ball, no doubt. And really showing poise and leadership--several big 1st downs running the ball as well. He's found his groove with Zorn: they seem well matched.
He's still got room to grow, but he's shown his quality. Lock him up! |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
Jim Zorn needs to be mentioned in the title of this thread. Zorn is an amazing QB coach and he really made a huge difference in Campbell's rapid development this year.
I hope these two stay together and have a great career together. They seem to have really found a good rythm and have developed a great working relationship. It is great to see. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
People in general are brash and impetuous. The people calling for Jasons head after the giants game are the same people that cause accidents on the road because they don't know to slow down when driving through a blizzard.

Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
When was the last time we had a REAL francise QB?????
Theisman??? |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
im glad theres no more.......bring on Colt BS.......now everyone is a Jason Campbell bandwagon jumper..........were all those negative people, with, he is not what we thought he was.............
|
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
So far so good but its way too early to crown him the franchise QB just yet. I need to see the whole season before I make my decision bust for now he's playing great.

Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
JC's poise is what really impresses me. His numbers weren't great yesterday but he made enough plays and most importantly yet again, he didn't turn it over.

You bring a good point. Great Qb's Do what is necessary to get it done. Do you want Marino, or Montana. Joe just got it done. |

Theisman???
Speaking of Joey T, Campbell beat his franchise record for most consecutive attempts without an interception yesterday. :) |

ALL of that was true, and it wasn't just based on week 1, it was based on three years. So all of you should be very happy Zorny and JC met. He has made tremendous improvements and faster than any of us expected. |

I can't think of a single Campbell throw this year that was even remotely close to an INT. Imagine what our turnover differential would be if our DBs could hold onto the ball.
Bottom line, Jason Campbell is our QB of the present and the future, and I'm glad that Gibbs traded up to get him. |

I agree 100% without Zorn Campbell development probably would have taking longer. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I've said this several times, but JC needs to get rid of the ball a bit quicker. Now I know all the optimistic folks are going to jump all over me, but it is true.
You can't get 5+ seconds each time in the pocket to go through 4 reads. |

You can't get 5+ seconds each time in the pocket to go through 4 reads.
I thought this was a well understood fact, at least among NFL folk. Guess not. Get rid of the ball JC. Oh, and catch the ball when it's tossed to you Moss. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
Campbell nearly led us to, I believe, his 5th straight 4th quarter comeback. That's pretty impressive.
|
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I've got no gripes with JC from yesterday. He played well, if anything I wish we would have opened things up a bit more and let him attack that weak secondary.

I thought it was kind of ironic how JLC today applauded Zorn for sticking with the run game, even when behind. He didn't give the same type of applause in previous years to another head coach that was here. |

And there was only one sack that was a blatant case of Campbell holding on to the ball too long. On two of the sacks, he hadn't even finished his drop. He was absolutely not the reason for the loss yesterday, and made a few clutch throws to help retake the lead, so I personally do not view his performance as a knock against his development. By the way, there was a quarterback who held on to the ball too long, quite a few times yesterday, and cost his team points in the process... Tony Romo.:laughing2 |

Also I noticed a couple times when didn't release early which cost us sacks, but he did improve upon that as the game progressed. I still feel JC thinks he will get 5+ seconds, it's not always happening. Finally, I agree that Romo is a hell of a lot worst at this. Maybe I have standards which are too high for Campbell, who knows. To me this is a more legit complaint, rather than putting it all on Brooks. |

oh hell just mash the gas we will get thru it ,:smashfrea:lol: so far so good for JC and zorn ..keep it up.. |
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
Would we rather have him force throws and have some INTs? I think that's a big reason for his 0 INTs on the year. He's taking sacks when he has to rather than forcing the issue.
|
Re: Jason Campbell...Official Franchise QB Material
I agree that Zorn has been extremely influential with JC in a positive way.
It is also true that this is his 4th year and 2nd full year as a starter. This is when qb's who are given time to develop start to blossom. Therefore part of it is just JC. He is young and turnover-stingy. Many other teams would love to have our qb situation. Lock him up forever. |

Fair enough, that's a good point. |
