The Snyder Monologues
Snyder looks kinda silly, but it's also nice to see how enthusiastic he is. I am not sure who gets more pumped about these games....me or Dan.

Re: The Snyder Monologues
Dudes, I love Dan Snyder.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
Now that we have a franchise QB and are winning games, I wonder if people will start giving all of the credit to Snyder.

Ari Gold anyone?

Re: The Snyder Monologues
snyder appears to look like a genius after the zorn hire... im glad

Re: The Snyder Monologues
He looks no more silly than most of us jumping around our living rooms. He's loving life right now.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
Gotta love it. The man loves this team as much as I do......
I think its freakin GREAT! Glad he has this to be happy about, beats the hell outta the other way around. When we are rolling like this it can bring out the kid in all! KEEP ROLLING! :) |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
dude that is awesome.
could you guys see synder freakin going off with some big cuss words yelling about the team in the tunnel not realizing he is being filmed all pumped up if we go like 8-1 or something? lol... I like his enthusiam |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
He's probably thinking about how everyone said that Zorn was just a stop gap for him until he could pay Cowher. Or how they said that Zorn was just a puppet. How he didnt know what he was doing when he took a chance on Jim Zorn. Or maybe how they said that the SKins couldn't win in Dallas let alone Philly the following week. He's a fan just like us, geeked up that the team won. Except he'll take the rap if they look like shit. I'm glad he has something to cheer for. Hopefully he can tell everyone to suck it while he's holding up the big trophy someday !
Hail To The Redskins !!! |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
The only thing that Snyder is guilty of is trying his best to make the Redskins a winner. He never balked at paying anyone, unlike another NFL owner out west. He also always tried to get the Redskins the best head coach that he could, and paid them what it took to get them to coach the Redskins.

Not so fast. Things appear to be falling into place when Dan Snyder takes a step back and leaves the business of football to the people who know football. |

Except he did that for the last for years with Gibbs. He also gave full control to Marty and he wanted Spurrier to have more control (though admittedly not full control) but Spurrier didn't want it. I'm telling you...don't sleep on Scott Campbell! |

They are making incredible contributions and they cost us pretty much zilch. |

Agreed, but he still has his hand in the cookie jar quite a bit with his buddy Vinny Cerrato. Although, if he continues to act more like Pat Croce than Jerry Jones, I'll be able to tolerate that money grubbing midget much more easily. |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
Props to Dan, he's come a long way. I think that after hanging with Joe Gibbs for 4 years Joe's wisdom rubbed on him.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
And who can forget the way he acted after the death of Sean Taylor.
He's the real deal. J-Dawg |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
Thank God we have an owner who cares. We could have Al Davis, or the folks in Detroit for owners.
Snyder and Cerrato have done a great job managing the cap, finding some diamonds in the rough, and having faith/confidence in Zorn/Blache. EDIT: As Smoot said, I'll bet a majority of the solid personnel decisons are being made by Campbell and Cerrato is getting out of the way and letting this guy do his job. |

I think it's great. Snyder has been guilty of trying too hard, instead of trusting his people. Being a small business owner I can understand how that happens. I've learned to hire good people and let them do what you hired them for, and I think he has too. |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
He said that Gibbs above all taught him patience. I imagine as the owner of the #1 franchise in the #1 sport in the world it was a hard lesson to learn.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
I love that kind of passion from an owner. Too many owners are more concerned about the bottom line before winning. Regardless of what you think of the man or his methods, he can never be accused of not caring.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
When we win, we're in love.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
I think it has been a learning process with Snyder. His actions were typical of a person with money, he thought he could get a SB trophy by buying his way to one. However, he has learned patience, trusting the people that work for him, and learn to grow as an owner.
When we win, we're in love.
I see what your saying, but I don't think this is some schoolgirl crush. I can't speak for everyone, but I never had a problem with Snyder. He's self-made and a fan first. While I have moaned and groaned with other fans over the years at some of the hirings and bad decisions, I understand that everyone makes mistakes and his only intention ever was to win. This off season, in my opinion, was a testament to the fact that he has learned his lesson and while there is still a lot of season to go with a rookie head coach at the helm, no team is off to a stronger start than the Redskins. |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
Yeah these reactions show how passionate he is about the team. You can also see with all that passion how easy it was for him to be meddlesome for such a long time. I'm glad Gibbs finally drilled into his head the importance of letting football minds make football decisions. We've been solid ever since. I agree with Ruhskins. It's been a learning process, but he's obviously getting much better.

He's the real deal. J-Dawg
Here, here! Very true. His wife also rode with Renaldo Wynn to the hospital after he was hurt a couple of years ago. They are both class acts. |

Exactly. We all act like that or worse. I think it's great. It's good to see some of that fire. I hear ARE did another version of Zorn's HIP HIP HOORAY yesterday. I wish we could see that one. |

There's really no proof of that. From all accounts Vinny is now running the football side of things, I think that's pretty evident from the way the draft and offseason went. And actually the last few offseasons have been pretty uneventful and very un-Snyder like. I think it's safe to say his hand is out of the cookie jar. This isn't the same Dan Snyder that bought the team. |
Re: The Snyder Monologues
We hav an owner who loves his team like we love this team. He has the money and the desire to make this work. At then end of the day you can count on one hand the owners in this league who have the money and singular motivation to win in this league. Maybe his tactics in the past haven't worked or were simply misdirected but I still think he is a top owner in this league. I really can't think of more than 2 or 3 that I'd "rather" have. Operationally speaking.
|
Re: The Snyder Monologues
All Dan wants to do, is see the Redskins win football games. It's been that way from the first time he bought the team. Because he is a big fan, he has been guilty of trying to do anything in his power to make them a winner instantly. He has taken a lot of heat from the media and fans outside of the Redskin family. I love him. I like an owner that wants to win and tries to put the best product on the field always. I hate owners that just look at the bottom line and field a team just good enough to sell seats and license merchandise.

I agree there are some owners that don't do anything to help the team or build a stadium or anything. As for him cheering like that I think its great! he seems like the type of person that is good to sit drink beer and watch a skins game with as long as his buying ofcourse.:food-smil |

Almost as sweet as this video is the shot of Jerry Jones despondent after the loss in Big D last week. Perhaps some more cosmetic surgery will cheer him up.

Re: The Snyder Monologues
snyder appears to look like a genius after the zorn hire... im glad
You know, I always said that despite some of the things he did coming off as needlessly nasty, Snyder wanted this team to win and didn't mind spending money if he thought it would help. This is a lot more than many NFL teams could ever say of their owner. And I think it took him a while to learn that just opening the wallet wasn't going to get it done. I'll be the first to admit I was disappointed when Ggggrilliamssss wasn't offered the job, especially during the awful tragedy last year and the mental state of the team, but moving past that, I was actually happy that Zorn was the pick and not some "name" like Fossil or even Cowher. Gibbs wasn't a "name" when he came to town, either, but he built his own legend. I'm not saying Zorn will necessarily replicate that success here and now, but he does seem like a smart guy, a leader who the players respect, and a guy who is sticking to sound principles of winning football. So, yeah, The Danny definitely looks like a genius, but you have to believe he thought this strategy through. And he had the guts to say "whatever, I don't care what the writers or pundits say" and go with his gut. |
