they absolutely drubbed minnesota and the texans, who both have looked like decent nfl teams... then went into baltimore and stole that win against the only D in the afc that has allowed as few points as themselves.

they've scored 6 more points than we have and allowed 42 less point through five games. I wouldn't say we're better. We could be, but I wouldn't be all that sure of it.

I assume you guys have read the Deadspin articles about Cris Carter threatening to beat the crap out of bloggers because one guy wrote what an a-hole he is, and every blogger he meets he assumes is that guy? After that whole thing where he was competing with Art for a HoF spot and wrote in his Yahoo column that Art didn't deserve to make it, I pretty much decided I never needed to hear from that egomaniac again.

And sure, the Titans are a strong defensive team, no doubt. But let's put it in perspective: Kerry Collins running that offense is like Mark Brunell running our offense a few years ago when our D was dominating. Get back to me in 6 weeks and we'll see if the defense can keep bailing them out on a weekly basis. Right now I think we are a more balanced team and a team that has more ways to beat an opponent.

Let's put this in perspective Art Monk was the best reciever on the redskins and probly best blocking recivever in the nfl. And a part of 3 superbowl teams while all carter did was see the toiletbowl after he got drunk and beat his wife what a douche if he reads this I'll fight that faggot fuck.

I doubt the Titans are as good as the Skins but everyone has a right to their opinion. A lot of these guys have their own personal bias so I don't put much stock in what they say anyway. That said, Tennessee's opponents have a combined record of 5-17, which is close to, if not dead last as far as strength of schedule. Two of their wins are over winless teams (Cincy and Houston). 3 of their wins are at home.

Our opponents have a combined record of 15-8, good for toughest in the league. We're 2-1 on the road, and have played 1 less home game thus far.

Yes, Tennessee's defense is fantastic, and their running game is very good, but they struggle to put up points big time. I don't think they are better than us, but they currently have a better record, so the argument can be made I guess.

Frankly I don't like all the press we're getting. I much prefer being an underdog and nobody thinking we're any good. I hate hype. Chris Carter is just one of thousands of talking heads. Good for him for having an opinion.

EDIT: On a side note, the other team being talked about as top three in the league, the Giants, have played opponents with a combined record 5-14. Other than the Skins, their opponents are 1-13. Pathetic.

the titans have played like the 29th hardest schedule... the redskins have played THE HARDEST SCHEDULE (#1) in the NFL. giants haven't really played anyone yet either, and neither have the bills (outside arizona - how'd that go?) by week 8 the schedules will even out and we'll see where everyone stands. right now that argument seems a little weak to me though.

I think it could be a toss up. With the Skins right now I would say that a test for them will be to have the ability to beat weaker teams in a decisive manner. Say what you say about the G-men, they blew up teams like the Rams and Seahawks (althought they struggled against the Bengals).
