Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
well at least that makes our game against detroit easier....
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
FUCK. seriously, he is a crazy talent.
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Well, at least they gave up a 1st rounder for him. Hopefully that will be a high first rounder. :)
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
How will TO like someone else getting the ball? Seems like a desparate move to me, regardless of how good a talent he is.
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Can Little T learn to share?
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
They have way more needs then WR but whatever.

it was'nt a first round it was a 2nd in 2009 & 2010. wonder how TO is gonna take this? |

And a 6th rounder in addition. The Lions should have asked for DE or DL from the Cowboys. |

1st, 3rd, and 6th |
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
How can the boys continue to add talent like this? Isnt there a cap in the NFL? They have TO, Romo, Leonard Davis, Barber, Witten, and now Roy williams, and thats only on the offensive side of the ball.
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
nfl live just said 1st, 3rd and 6th i believe, mighty high price to pay for a player who would have been a free agent after the season, detroit with a steal there because williams wasnt staying there next year. could work out well for dallas though

Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Yeah I am sorry but a 1st, 3rd, and 6th is way to high. I belive that this will hurt Dallas alot more than us. TO and Williams won't be able to get along, and Brad Johnson is throwing them the ball. Good luck with that. This team is still ready to implode in Big D.
WHY THE HELL ARE THERE SO MANY COWBOY THREADS ON OUR BOARD!!! They dont deserve our time. We have a good cohesive unit here in DC and no need to designate to much time to a team of individuALS. |

Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
I thought that a 1st, 3rd and a 6th was too much too until I thought a little more about it.
In 2009 the Cowboys have two third round picks and two 6th round picks from deals done during the last draft. So they surrendered a first rounder for Williams. And to justify that you just have to ask what WR would be available and worthy of a first round pick in the 2009 draft? Essentially, Dallas used thier first round pick on a WR. They just did it in October instead of April is all. I know, three picks is a lot, but I am just trying to put it in perspective is all. |

Dallas D is suspect. This was stupid.... IMO. |
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Who really cares about this?
It wont make or break the Cowboys and it wont be a major factor when we paly them. I wonder... are there Cowboy threads talking about the Redskins and Alexander? Are we really that different after all? |

good point, but we hear about the cowboys all day in the national media. Sirius NFL and ESPN. I just get sick of hearing about the damn cowboys. |

They now have TO, Witten, and now Williams which is no small order for any D to deal with. Will it work is the real question? |

Everyone thinks we're idiots when we make them too. :) They paid a premium no doubt. This reeks of desperation. |
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Between Dallas trading for Roy Williams and Romo going down, TO is going to explode.

Yeah I'd agree. The Cowboys are now able to hit you with multiple formations. Patrick Crayton isn't much of a #2 WR, but if you make him a #3 with TO and Roy Williams on the outside and Witten in the middle, then Crayton actually presents matchup problems. Jason Garrett now has a ton more ways to attack defenses, which is not good. Of course, acquiring a WR in mid-season can be tricky. Roy now has a new offense to learn and a new QB to get used to (and it won't even be Romo). I don't think it makes Dallas unbeatable but it undoubtedly makes them better. |

TO, Witten, and Williams... all getting passes from Brad Johnson. Look... we have a good defense with some good coaching. Roy Williams isn't going to make us look stupid. Do they need to prepare for a Cowboys team with Williams? Yes. Done. |

Or else he will 1) hold out, 2) sign somewhere else or 3) have to be franchised for big $$. I firmly believe a team can't afford to pay for two TOP END WR's. Ask Arizona how that's going... |
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
The guy is an absolute jerkoff in the character department so he will fit right in with the Cowboys.

Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
So who's going to throw the ball to Roy or T.O. while Romo is out?
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Thats the one receiver that i wanted us to chase last offseason. He is retarded special.
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Nice move by the Cowboys. Too bad Roy Williams can't play corner or safety. Thats where they need the most help.
|
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
Scary move. I think Williams will do very well in Dallas. I wonder if TO is secretly ticked that he might have to spread the wealth.

Speaking of which we're a little short ourselves (with Doughty on IR and Hamilton being released). I love our starters and I also like Kareem Moore, but I still say we need one more safety. |
Re: Breaking News Roy Williams Traded to Dallas
This sucks. I don't understand how they have the cap space. Also how will they afford him next year? Can T.O. survive with another big time reciever? We will find out in due time. I think dallas is desperate right now and they sense their season going down the crapper. I bet Jerry Jones can't stand that we are better than them.
