has fred DAVIS even suited up the last few weeks?i know cooley and yoder are playing,but where is lewis?should'nt a high draft pick like him be playing a lot in the offense?

LOL.....ahhh this thread is funny. Ummm.....but it brings up a good point. He has one reception for 6 yards the entire season guys. And that was back against New Orleans. Kinda strange?

Yeah, maybe Steve Davis just needs to step it up more in practice so that he can be worked into the game plan a little better. I've got a friend that's a big USC fan who said that he can be a lot like Steve Cooley after the catch. Imagine the two of them just dragging defenders down the field. It would be great.

Why is there all this panic about our draft picks not getting on the field and setting the world on fire right away?

Did we not learn anything from panicking when Campbell, McIntosh, and Rogers all got little to no playing time when they first were Redskins? Look at them now.

Exactly. I thought is was a little crazy for people to expect that Kelly, Davis, and Thomas would, in the aggregate, rack up over 1,300 yards. Give them time.

i never expected that,i did think that 6 games into the season they would have at least 10 catches and 1 td among them all together though.

Just to re-rail this thread again since it's gotten derailed, I think the reason Davis hasn't seen much pt is because the coaches feel more comfortable with Yoder as Cooley's backup. Maybe Davis hasn't learned enough of the playbook yet either.

Yoder is probably the better blocker at this point, I think that's why we haven't seen as much of Lewis Davis yet.

You're a good sport Johnerotten. :) I think Davis's time will come. I think Zorn is just adding to the offense at a slower pace than some of us would like to see. I expect him to add more down the road. He does'nt just want to throw guys out there just for the sake of doing it. I think most of our rookies will contribute before it's all over. A lot of guys are still learning. When the time is right, I expect big things. Thus far there have been some rookie mistakes and the main concern is winning. Our veterans are still learning parts of this offense also. As much as I liked the pick of Zorn as coach, I'm still surprised we've done this well this fast with a new offense........maybe somebody should give Sammy some Vault, he's been resting a long time.

I thought that the Rams at home would have been a good opponent to increase our rookies' workdload. I know Kelly is hurt, but I'm disappointed that we aren't using Thomas and Davis more. Thomas had two big third down conversions at Philly, then barely sees the light of day against the Rams.

This made me laugh. In the UK Steve Davis was world snooker champion and was known as Steve 'Boring' Davis as he was always so serious, miserable looking and slow when he played. He was also very tall and thin. The image this brought up (think tall and thin in shoulder pads and helmet looking like a bobble head doll)...

On a serious note though, I agree that we need to give these guys more time. There are plenty of receivers come into this league that take 2-3 seasons to get their groove on.
