Skins/Lions MVP?

Who gets your game ball?

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Not the Dline. Santana Moss was a monster. I vote for him.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

moss was the impact player in my mind but its hard not to go with JC too. even though he had the fumble and was off a bit on those 2 sideline passes near the red zone; i dont have his stats in front of me but something like 25 - 28 for 300 plus yards 1 td 0 ints is impressive and im sure equates to a 100 plus qb rating.

Moss gets my vote thoo with that punt return.

go skins!!

It's very obvious that Santana Moss was our MVP.

His rating was 127.4 to be exact...but I never really understood how this number is derived, I thought it would be higher than that though...what more do you have to do to get a perfect QB rating, he completed over 80% of his passes for crying out loud

A few more TD passes and his rating would have been very close to perfect

Moss.

Without that punt return for a TD, who knows what would've been of this game.

WaldSkins 10-26-2008 06:05 PM

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

1. Moss
2. Campbell
3. Portis

In this order.

I still don't understand the formula that is used to reach this number...Just because a QB doesn't have a bunch of TDs doesn't mean that he is less effective, the RB could just be punching it in all day while the QB is doing must of the work to get there...but anyway does anyone know where to find the formula that they use?

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

I voted for Fletcher. He was all over the field making tackles. His last tackle, yard short of first down clinched our victory IMO.

I agree, but I have to mention Cooley. He was a beast today, especially on the screen plays. Cooley doesn't go down easy.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

John Jansen. Just kidding.

Moss
Campbell
London Fletcher

Voted for Moss. Campbell a not so distant second.

Moss. Easy choice

Lotus 10-26-2008 06:47 PM

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Moss is a good choice but I say Campbell because he made the big passes to Moss, Cooley, and others when we needed it most.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

I went with Moss. Huge day.

I think Jansen deserves a special mention, getting that fumble that lead to a field goal late in the 4th to put us up by 8. It certainly offsets those holding penalties.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Just got back from eating after the game. This vote should be a no brainer. Without Moss Skins lose this one. His TD reception was great, put the moves on to get the TD. The punt return was just incredible, shifting directions, weaving in and out to get the TD. The D played solid, but we do really need an improvement in the pass rush. This game should have been a total demolition of the Lions.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Campbell, Portis, Fletcher, Cooley all had big games. Without that T.D. on the punt return that was made basically on his own, we go home with a loss. Santana gets my vote.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Didn't get to watch the game (flying) but watched the highlight of the game. Just looking at what Moss did today I would have to give it to him with Campbell as honorable mention.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Campbell was great, but Moss was just outstanding. Unfortunately I was going against him in fantasy. I hope his hammy is okay.

It has to be Santonio.

HA! Good one. Santonio Moss. Billick is a trip. He had me laughing a few times.

"The Lions are just slowly bleeding to death."

"The Lions are more of a mess than Horace's Goat."

Santonio Moss!!!! The punt return was huge. Huge day for Moss.

Billick is an idiot. He said Santonio on a radio interview last week so he's been doing that shit all week long.

BleedBurgundy 10-26-2008 09:05 PM

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

In Billick's defense, he's used to facing Santonio Holmes twice a year, so that's where that comes from. That said, dude is still annoying as hell in the booth.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Moss. Although you could give it to JC as well. Of course Portis and the oline did a hell of a job as well.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Campbell was 16 of 18 after the 1st half, the 2 incomplete,the 2 Moss caught out of bounds. Not sayin they were Moss' fault,but thats darn good(Campbell term)4 a game. Not to mention the half.

Ask and you shall receive:

QB Rating = (a + b + c + d) / .06

a = (((Comp/Att) * 100) -30) / 20
b = ((TDs/Att) * 100) / 5
c = (9.5 - ((Int/Att) * 100)) / 4
d = ((Yards/Att) - 3) / 4

a, b, c and d can not be greater than 2.375 or less than zero.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Moss was the difference in this game. Without good old Santonio, the Skins would have been lost.

A close second is definitely Fletcher, leading the team in tackles again, and saving the best for last, flat out Mack Trucking Calvin Johnson to end the Lions' chance of a comeback.

Honorable Mention: Michael Green. Played very well for Horton and was all over the field as well.

Re: Skins/Lions MVP?

Moss was the game breaker with the punt return for the score.

Campbell is a close 2nd. His poise on that TD toss to Moss was outstanding, and his overall performance on the day was stellar outside of the fumbles, but I blame the weak backside protection for that.

80% Moss 20% Suisham.
