Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
Portis- Nice tough running all day long. The Lions played damn good run D for most of the game and he didn't quit. He has to be hurting but if he can hold together for 1 more week he'll get the rest he deserves.
Rogers- I don't have a clue how he does it but he has rapidly become one of the best CB's in the game. I would almost say he is as good as Champ was when he was here.....if only he could catch. Nobody realizes how fast he really is either. On the Moss return Rogers out ran Moss to get in front of a defender to block him. Cooley-He is money on 3rd down. He had some nice blocking on some of those TE screens but he also made some nice yards after contact(as usual). Cooley is IMO the best TE in the league. While SS is laying the Smack down every week, I think we need to show some love to the guys that performed well. |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
Fletcher - Got to give him his credit, that last hit was as hard as they come. He is absolutely everywhere
I disagree with your review of Cooley. He was great on those two screen plays and he is a very valuable part of the offense . BUT, He had another drop on a third down play that killed a solid drive and he is having issues holding onto the ball. He needs to spend less time with his blog and more time with catching passes. |

I totally agree with you CRedskinsRule. When he made that hit...everyone in the bar went nuts! He is playing GREAT this season However my Attaboy goes to Santana Moss 9 for 140, TD (almost another early in the game, caught him @ the 3yd line) & a punt return for a TD! Was a great performance and it only solidifies why he should be so involved each & every game! |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
London and Carlos are a must at the Pro Bowl this year!
|
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
Obviously JC. But my biggest attaboy goes to Fletch for ANOTHER great game, including a game ending, blow up style hit on Calvin Johnson. Awesome lick in the open field to seal it for the Burgundy & Gold.

Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
Jason Campbell -- Behind a total lack of an offensive line the last four games, all he has done is fumble only twice, has never been picked off, avoid multiple sacks, and complete better than 65% of his passes. There are a lot of deserving guys in the NFC, but I don't see how this guy doesn't get the Pro Bowl. He's Roethlisberger if Ben got the ball out of his hands quickly.
Yes, that's a free promo for next weeks' game. |

Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
i think one of the most solid and underated people on the team this year has been kendall...hes played solid.

Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
add smoot to that as well..he played a good game.

Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
I said this in the MVP thread, but Michael Green stepped in for an injured Chris Horton and had a very good game.
And while Cooley's blog has nothing to do with those mental errors, this is a few weeks in a row where he's had a good performance stat wise, but he's made some blockhead mistakes as well. He's still a top TE in the league, but he needs to work on limiting those mistakes. DD - While Kendall is playing solid, I do remember one play yesterday where he was pulling to the left in front of Portis and got in the way. It was funny to see Portis get up from his tackle all pissed off because he wanted more yards, but good old Pete was in the way. |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
dude...he may not be the best in the league...but he showed his junk online..that automatically bumps him up to at least number 2

Kendall was downfield blocking just like he's supposed to. He doesn't have eyes in the back of his head. If Portis didn't want to run into him, well... he shouldn't have run into him. |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
Oh I know...nothing on Kendall, just pointing it out is all. Everyone inside the tackles played decently yesterday.

I was wondering how come I was not seeing Horton. Was not sure if he was a game time decision or what. But Green's name was getting called quite a bit. He made himself known that's for sure. |
Tripp, did you enjoy your first live Redskins game?
I did. Had pretty nice seats too. Didn't see a whole lot that wasn't on TV, but I got a good view of how they were covering Calvin Johnson. I'll put that and more in the GT review.

Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
I'd like to give an atta-boy to whoever did these Halloween graphics. Pretty cool.

Nice. I'm so glad you got to see a win. My first Redskins game was back on November 29th, 1987. We beat the Giants 23-19 to move to 8-3. I was 9 years old, and we were lower level end zone in RFK. The place was rockin. The memory is burned in my brain. Looking forward to the GT Review. |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
I think Randy Thomas is having a Pro Bowl-like season. This guy just goes out and plays his position like it's suppose to be played. And he doesn't kill drives with stupid penalties like some others that I will not mention. It is good to see Randy healthy this year.
Something that I have noticed this year that kind of disapoints me is that Big Mike S. isn't as involved in the offense this year like he has been in the past. Zorn is primarily using him as a sledge hammer for Portis. He gets me all kinds of hyped-up when he gets the ball in his hands. |

I think it is hard to quibble with how Zorn is using the guy. |
Re: Attaboy's (Redskins-Lions)
I'd like to give an atta-boy to London Fletcher for being relentless for a full 60 minutes every week.
