F... Selling Tickets to Opposing Fans

Yeah, normally the "F" threads go in the parking lot. Not this one. F you to all of the ass clowns out there that decided to sell their tickets to Steeler fans. Way to erase any hope of a home field advantage and embarrass the entire fanbase on national television. Cocksuckers.

I second that, it was pretty pathetic.

I can't believe so many people would sell their tickets to the opposing fans. I'm a Redskin fan damnit, give me your tickets. Redskins fans better not pull this shit again when Dallas plays.

I couldn't agree with this thread any more. You know how many die hard Redskins fans would kill to go to a game like this? And these p.o.s. mother effers sold out like it was going out of style. Friggin embarressing.

seriously is this nescary? now i would never sell tickets to an opposing fan but blaming on us losing is stupid. We lost because of poor offensive play

You're right, the lack of fans didn't cost us the game, it's just that it was plain embarrassing seeing FedEx Field looking like Heinz Field.

So... on third down when we're trying to come back in our HOME stadium, you've got no problem with the s load of crowd noise and terrible towels making it even tougher on the offense? REALLY?

It was astonishing to see 30,000 terrible towels waving in our own stadium. It was like watching my fiance get defiled on national television. Sorry, but a great many Redskins fans are verified d-bags.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm failing to see how someone correlates fans selling their tickets to us losing. Sure it's demoralizing to be at home and it being loud when you're on offense, as well as hearing loud cheers when a good play for the Steelers happening, but that wasn't why we lost.

It has more to do with pride. We, the fans, got embarressed on national television because the entire nation got to see 25,000 Steelers fans show up and practically make it their home away from home. We didn't represent and it made our fan base look pathetic. And I'm sure it doesn't even matter to all the fans who sold their tickets.

I have to agree here. I'm originally from Chicago and still follow the Bears as well. Even with Green Bay in town you don't see the kind of invasion I saw tonight. Packer fans certainly wouldn't have been as boisterous as if they owned the place.

Disgraceful.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

It's such a corporate stadium. Seems like the 1 and 2 hundred levels just didn't give a damn and sold their tickets to whomever. Sucks for our team, because say what you want, that has to be demoralizing. As bad as Eagles fans are, and they are the scum of the earth, no way in hell that happens in Philly, as even the MNF announcers noted.

I don't think BB said that it was a cause of us losing but it's just an embarrassment. We used to have that done in high school, have our rivals in our arena and have them cheering louder than us and then it was only 200 or 300 kids at a basketball game and that shit hurt.

I can only imagine how it feels to have 30,000 people cheering against you on your home field..

i understand what your saying, and noughing bad to our fans, but if we cant convert third downs because of the opposite fanbase then thats sad. one thing thats seperates a good team from great team is not letting the opposing fanbase mess us up, wether it be home or away

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I don't believe the fan presense was the reason we lost...Although I certainly won't deny the impact of the home field advantage simply as a psychology student.

My problem with selling tickets to opposing fans simply because they offered more is something completely different.

Jacking up the price all the time is turning the sport into an elitist game. Everyone likes football regardless of social status. Your quick buck is making the game something snobby and reprehensible.

Steelers have their own stadium, and I don't care what team I support, I certainly hope that steelers fans get the chance to see their favorite team play. We deserve the same. Let's not forget it's a game, it's supposed to be about having fun. But when you rob people of there chance to see their team play by selling your tickets to the oppisition, your creating a negative atmosphere that doesn't help the competetion, it just makes the entire game less enjoyable.

Politicts has some of the shaddiest followers in any event in human history, people do just about anything to force and brainwash people out of their beleifs. Yet I went to two Obama ralley's this campagin season and never saw a bunch of Mccain supporters taking up all the seats so we couldn't see our hero, nor did I see this happening the other way around. Are you telling me republicans are more honorable than skins fans?? How is that possible?? (Please don't take that to seriously, lol)

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

Apparently, somebody already started a thread about this issue.

Well, here it goes again; STOP!

Selling your fucking tickets to opposing fans!

Tonight we were beat as fans; we lost because our fans could not go without selling our tickets away to the opposing team.

In no way should we feel like the away team in our own stadium. Steelers fans were all over the fucking place.

I can go on and on about this, but I would rather say; be sure to sell your tickets to a skins fan. Take a pay cut; support your team, we will all be happier on Monday and Tuesday.

FU to all of those who gave tickets away to the Steelers!

It may not be the reason we lost, but the game could have been closer. It's called a home-field advantage for a reason. Tonight, it didn't happen.

To put it simply, It's a FUCKING EMBARASSMENT! To the team, and to any REAL fans. I'm ASHAMED! ASHAMED that on national T.V., even the announcers commented on how many Steeler fans were in OUR HOUSE! I wish I could take the ticket from every COCKSUCKING SEASON TICKET HOLDER that does'nt go to at least half of our home games and give them to someone who gives a shit.

After seeing that on national TV, how can we defend our fan base when we let the enemy raid our home games like that?

Off the top of my head, that sort of invasion would NEVER occur in Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Philly, New England, Denver or at the New York (Giants). Pittsburgh plays in Baltimore every year, and I don't recall Ravens fans ever surrendering their home field advantage to the enemy the way we did tonight. I'm more embarrased by our no-show fans than by our team's performance tonight, and that's saying something.

Do I dare say that ticket prices have risen so much that true fans can't afford them. Instead, we have these corporate types, who buy them as a symbol of their wealth and willingly give these tickets up when the game becomes an inconvenience?

And I agree on your comment about Kornheiser...I used to be a huge fan of his until he blew up at the critcisism he got after his first MNF outing.

#1 - this obviously did not cost us the game ..

#2 - still -- I have been to games since 1987 as a 6 year old ... I now live in AZ and to get so fired up to see the game at fed ex was such a let down for me tonight ... it was just sad really .. Skins' fans look the fool tonight .. i come back for a game each year but due to the economy can't make it back this year .. i am rambling now .. but damn i feel soooooo let down tonight

#3 - i just hope we re group and bring the noise in 2 weeks

#4 - can carlos rogers gets some fucking stickum please

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I would agree w/ almost everything DCtoAZ said above. I live in Kentucky, and make it a point to watch every 'Skins game, so I know where he is coming from, and it was down right embarrassing to watch that display on TV.

Just as a side note, I was back in DC for a wedding this weekend, and the season ticket holding groom was trying like hell to give tickets to this game away at the rehearsal dinner, and almost nobody wanted them. He finally got rid of them to about the 20th person he asked.

I am not trying to let the people who sold their tickets to Steelers' fans off the hook, but I think a lot of this has to do with what a pain in the ass it is to get in and out of FedEx. When you couple this with a Monday night game, a lot of people simply do not want to get home at 1 or 2 am on a workday. Not saying it's a good excuse, but just throwing it out there as a possible explanation

I actually heard a NYG fan talking about the new stadium seating, to keep his seats(which he said were Good seats) would be almost $1800 per game, after everything was totalled and averaged, And you had to buy 2 seasons worth straight away. That is crazy!

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

You see it at night games more than anything. The people who can afford the season tix have to get up the next morning. Visiting fans make a vacation of the game and sleep in at their hotel the next morning.
I said several times during the game thread how embarrassing it was to see so many Steelers fans at the game. No, it wasn't why we lost. Really, though, losing to one of the best defenses of the past 15 years and falling to 6-3 isn't reason to be ashamed. The "fans" who sold their tix to anyone with a buck is shameful.
For the Cowboys game (a Sunday night game) I have a solution to the souless jerks and corporate a-holes who can't stay up past 9pm. Donate the tix. Either give them to a children's group, school or anywhere else where people who can't afford tix but are actually fans of the team would love to scream at the Cowboys. Then write off the "donation".

2BIG2BSKINNY 11-04-2008 08:29 AM

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I think the loss came at the hands of the offense and not the fans...even when we have a packed redskins fan base for other games the advantage is not huge...I have been told! Cause I a life long Redskins fans have never seen a game in Washington D.C. It just cost to damn much...(I lived in VA for some years!) There would be nothing better than to partake with my fellow fans and enjoy a Skins game but come on!!

Now I hear don't sell this to him or her...look! Don't know if you got the memo but we are in hard economic times and if they can sell there ticket then more power to them...

I was good enough to take advantage of this exact practice as I have recently bought tickets to the Redskins -vs-Bengals on Dec. 14 (Very Cheap!!!)

It has been a while since I have seen a live game...even longer since a Skins game. You can't have it both ways...so think about that the next time the Skins are on the road and there is a sea of Skins fans in the stadium of the opposing team...it happens often!

Pitt has some of the best traveling fans in the league. It's not a problem exclusive to FedEx, watch any Steelers away game and you'll see a ton of their fans. Give 'em credit. There's not much use in complaining about it, it just sounds like sour grapes.
