Lol, we're actually pretty good at corner right now. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Vet min...couldn't wait huh...now thats a joke.
The guy was payed a lot of cash to play for the traiders. Next thing you know he wasn't 'feeling it in traider country'...... First off, this kids a head job. No telling what he wants now OR what might have happened for this to occur if their is any truth to this. Any link? |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
PFT.com We are pretty good at corner..? Is that a joke OR are you just praying that SS will make it through the season?
HALL OUT IN OAKLAND? Posted by Mike Florio on November 4, 2008, 8:24 p.m. Wow. The DeAngelo Hall experiment in Oakland could be ending, as soon as Wednesday. Wow. Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Raiders would make the move in order to avoid $16 million in injury-guaranteed bonuses. Schefter reports that the move was going to be made on Tuesday, but that the team decided to wait a day. If/when Hall is cut, he will have been paid $8 million for eight games, and the Raiders will have squandered a second-round pick. On one hand, it’s another sign that the Raiders are horribly dysfunctional. On the other hand, at least the Raiders are willing to acknowledge their blunder and not compound it by paying him another $16 million. Hall would go through waivers, but it’s highly unlikely that anyone would pick up his contract. If no one bites, he’d then become an unrestricted free agent. As Schefter points out, the teams most interested in Hall when he was traded by the Falcons were the Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys. Our guess is that the Cowboys will bring him in as an alternative to Mike “Tiptoe Matador” Jenkins. |

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
He's a hot head, but a huge talent and still young. Springs can't stay healthy and is nearing the end. I'm not sure how this would play out if we signed him, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. Especially with the bye week to get him situated...

One of the biggest questions is does he have any experience with the front office or coaching staff? If so the probability of signing him goes up exponentially. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
We aren't going to sign him so no need to talk about that. But wow are the Raiders a joke! I've never heard of anything like this! Rather than focusing on resigning Nnamdi Asomugah (maybe the best cover corner in the league) they poured huge cash into dealing for the overrated Hall - and now are giving up on him after only 8 games!? I've seen bad teams before, but this is the most ridiculous organization I can remember in my lifetime.

I agree with that. No telling what happened out there to him to get cut or another team wanting him gone, especially the traiders of all teams. Those fools paid all that cash for 8 games..damn, when you think they have hit the bottom of the barrel of dumb.....they get even dumber! This guy is a cancer, that would have never received that kinda cash from any other team except the desperate traiders. I don't care how young this guy is, hes bad news. The SKINS will not make a run at this clown at this point, to much cash and to many character issues. He will if I had to guess depending on terms of being cut, think hes worth way more than what he is and his stock is dropping rapidly. Prime candidate for Dallas! |

I know... i was thrilled when we signed TJ duckett... and the cowboys are pretty damn sick in that game right now. its a pain in the ass to defend against them no matter what you do... |

Apperently a whole list of players to be released. Wow... |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Is it even possible to take on his salary cap wise?
Would the remaining cap space have to be prorated over the remaining games? Or do you think we could we use all of it if need be for just what his remaining salary would be? |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
I don't think it would hurt to at least bring Hall and Walker in to Redskins Park during the next two weeks and see what they can do
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Hall is a maggot; I hope we stay away from him. He sucked this weekend against the Falcons and tried to fight his old teammates on the way to the locker room at halftime.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
sign for good value, we need all the bodies at CB we can get. our locker room can cure cancer.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Just for shit and giggles, what is his cap number if we signed him at his current contract rate?
I do not want him on the Redskins, but he is not going to clear waivers, I see a CB desperate team like Dallas signing him. I am just curious what his cap number is? How much cap space do we have? |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Hall is just pure 100% garbage, a wanna be Deion Sanders who is a cancer in the locker room. Plus he's a headcase and can't cover his own shadow. No thanks.

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Don't touch this jackass with a 10 foot pole, save him for the Cowboys.

You know Jerry Jones is already on the phone with this tool's agent. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
glad i am not a raiders fan!this is just a really insane story.pay DH 8 mill for 8 games, pay javon williams 11 mill for 8 games, and then release them? al davis has lost what little of his brain he had left!i would at leat work those 2 out if they clear waivers.the worst thing that can happen is we don't need them.

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
I live 5 minutes from where Deangelo Hall played high school football. He played for Deep Creek High School where I graduated. I watched him all through High School and we went to the state finals his senior year. That being said, there is NO WAY I want him on our team. He is talented, but NO ONE is as good as he THINKS he is. He is a self-centered showboat who puts himself above team and he actually gets beat more than you would think.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Hall is a good corner on a good team.
I'd take a flyer on him, especially with Springs' recent track record. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Can he catch? Seriously though, I think the Redskins should stay far away from him.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Skins have great team chemistry and Hall could potentially kill that. They should stay away from him. Hopefully (fingers crossed) Springs will be 100% for the second half of the season. Besides, I would rather see Dallas sign him so Santana can burn his ass too!
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
I wouldn't mind Walker coming over. It doesn't seem like Kelly will be ready this season.
Were shallow at WR. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
i think we are forgetting at how bad al davis has fallen off the deep end.he fires a head coach, refuses to pay him,and is gonna pay 2 players 19 million dollars for 8 games a piece this season,he really is nuts is'nt he?
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
C'mon people. Tryon is better than this bum.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
also from chesapeake and i think the guy is not worth the chance. it was all about hall in that state game thats why we didnt win
|
I wouldn't mind Walker coming over. It doesn't seem like Kelly will be ready this season.
Were shallow at WR.
I'm wavering on Walker. On the one hand he would probably have a more immediate impact than Thomas. On the other hand, Thomas (and Davis) need to get out there and play and take their lumps. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
If he could keep his mouth shut, I'd love to see DH as a punt returner with the Skins. But I doubt he'd keep his mouth shut.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
I believe this is something we would have to look at. I know at this point, we are pretty comfortable with our corners. However, Springs is getting older. I wouldn't be objected to seeing what it takes to bring him in, if reasonable. The kid has talent and is young. You put him, Carlos, Smoot, and Springs and that is a pretty talented secondary. Especially for seasons to come if Springs retires or is sent packing for money reasons.
I really think the veteran leadership, along with the work ethic of Portis, Moss, Randel el, Carter and the younger leaders of this team, would have him in line rather quickly. |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
I don't see D Hall being much of an issue. I really think we could get him for a reasonable contract and willing to re-prove himself.
|
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Hall is a me first, diva in the mold of TO and Chad Johnson. He should have been a WR. He's still young and one of the fastest DBs in the league, but he's definitely lost some of his mojo. The only game I saw of Hall this season, rookie (and fellow Hokie) Eddie Royal absolutely schooled him.

Walker may have value to a team ranked 25th in offense with a single WR threat who may develop a lingering leg injury. This may be quite possible considering our #5 WR may end up on injured reserve anyways. My questions regarding Walker What is his current contract? Can we afford it? Is he likely to get through waivers? |
Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they're getting cut we don't absorb their contract. Both of these contracts are huge as of now, but if they get waived we have to negotiate a new deal with them.
