Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
ESPN - Fitzgerald seventh in Pro Bowl voting - NFL Nation
It seems like the "Vote the Redskins Ticket" campaign is working. A Redskins player leads the fan vote at virtually every position. I thought this might be of some interest to people around here. I like that the fans are out voting for our players, but guys like Heyer, Springs, Taylor, and Plackemeier definitely don't deserve to be in the Pro Bowl. On the flip side guys that actually deserve it like Fletcher, Portis, Sellers, Horton, and Samuels all lead by a healthy margin. |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Add in Deangelo Hall and he might get in too.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I like the comment on the bottom of the page about Redskins fans. What a hater. I like what I see though. There should have been more burg and gold in the Pro Bowl last year.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
That is insanity. I guess that is what happens when DS throws some money at an issue. You can also consider it blow back for the thirteen Cowboys that made the Pro Bowl last year. Hopefully London will finally get the much deserved nod that has eluded him his entire career.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
For what it's worth, I only voted for Redskins that I believe are worthy:
Portis Sellers (FB) Cooley Samuels Moss Campbell Fletcher Rogers Horton I feel strongly that it cheapens the honor to vote for an entire "team ticket" the way the FO is marketing fans to do. |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
lol, that's great. love the comments.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Keep in mind the fan voting only accounts for 1/3 of the votes to get players in. The coaches and players have votes for the other 2/3.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
See, i'm not of the belief that we should vote our guys in...
all it does is drive up the cost of our own players when we want to resign them and it COULD (not will) foster complacency. I like my guys hungry and motivated. While being motivated and a pro-bowler is NOT mutually exclusive, it is certainly a possibility... |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I'm all for Redskins players being in the Pro Bowl, so long as they deserve it. Guys like London Fletcher, C-Po, Santana Moss, and them deserve it. People on other teams are trying to get recognized too, and it's not fair to no recognize them due to homerism.

Agree 100%. I would actually be kinda mad if some of those guys got in from us. I just hope Fletcher finally makes it, guy has been great. |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Fletcher needs to be there along with Portis and Moss.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I've voted Fletch and Sellers repeatedly. Portis, Carlos, Samuels, Campbell, Moss, Landry, and Cooley occasionally. Even Horton and Kendall a couple of times. Fletcher and Sellers have been snubbed to long. But like Matty said, our vote only counts 1/3, the players and the coaches take care of the rest. I don't think some of our players deserve it, and probably won't go anyway with only 1/3 of the vote.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Personally I dont see anything wrong in voting for your Skins. Again, as mentioned, it's only weighted as 1/3
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I think four Skins will get in.
Portis Fletch Rogers Campbell ***Horton as first team alternate*** |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Since I have called for the abolition of the Pro Bowl for about 10 years now, I can't get myself exercised about who gets in and who does not. I would not attend the game unless you paid me my hourly consulting rate to go to it. I'd be happy to get an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii in February, but you could not get me to that silly game at gunpoint.
Here is what I think is FAR more important... As of today, the Washington Redskins have the same record as the Dallas Cowboys. I want to have the Skins make the playoffs and have only one person on their whole squad make the Pro Bowl while the Cowboys miss the playoffs and still have 13 of their players named to the game. The Pro Bowl is irrelevant. It does not matter. Playoffs are where we need to focus attention and interest. |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
nice...its about time Portis or Santana gets in. i voted for em over 20 times...lets all do 20+ votes a day...haha...theyll get in

I agree. And being able to vote multiple times reminds me of the shady voting practices that robbed Chief Zee of his trophy last summer. |

Portis Fletch Rogers Campbell ***Horton as first team alternate***
Something hilarious is that we have about 17 players right now leading the league in voting. If we keep it up, it's going to be hilarious. Redskins Successfully Make Mockery of Pro Bowl - D.C. Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I voted for every Redskins player because last year Cowboys players that didnt deserve it went to the Pro Bowl, so we have to stick up for our guys!
Though its hilarious that our punter, who was recently signed...is leading in votes for punters by a large margin |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
i agree. Portis, Moss, Fletcher...and even Rogers....yea i said it....Carlos Rogers....ok hes dropped some INTs but hes swattin balls down crazy n he also deserves it this year.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Khary Campbell = Pro Bowler! :D
Keep voting, people! |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
This was one of the topics on around the Horn today. Redskin fans stuffing the ballot box(to say).It was pointed out that the other 2 thirds of the voters actually carry more weight and the fan alone ...DOES NOT decide who go's.

Are Skins fans doing anything all other fans are not doing? |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Who cares about the Pro Bowl? I'd rather see 22 Giants starting in the Super Bowl.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
You got to see that last year coggs, give us a chance now! ;)
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Personally, In no way does Andre Carter deserve to go to the pro bowl. He has sacked the QB once on his own! Guys like Ware and Tuck have 11 at this point in the season! I'm guilty of voting for him but I was under the impression he was gonna get into a rhythm and light some qb's up. I was wrong. Now if he has 2 sacks in each of the remaining 6 games, then he should go! And the fact that Springs is leading the votes for corner is a BLEEPING Joke! He has started 3 games this season and has 12 tackles WOW. The whole vote the redskins ticket was fun at first, but this is a little absurd.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I think this being blown out of proportion a bit. So Redskins fans are voting for their own, big shocker. Ultimately the fan vote counts for 1/3, so the coaches and players votes are more significant. Don't count on seeing a Redskins Pro Bowl team in February. Relax.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
our d line, none of them deserve to go.
samuels is the only o-line player to go. portis. moss - depending on the rest of the season. fletch rogers. and jason campbell, also depending on the rest of the season. |

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
We can't even pass protect against a single team, let alone the combined efforts of the AFC. Why would anyone want to see Jason Campbell take that type of beating?

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Anyone know where to look to see if we are still leading in the voting. This could be real embarrassing if we send a bunch of players that cannot win a football game.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
Once again fan voting is only 1/3 of the vote. We could vote in all of the Redskins but the players and coaches have a bigger say.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
lol..this is insanity. Great idea but we'll be the first team ever to get the most pro-bowl votes wihtout making the playoffs.
|
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
I'm just glad we dominated the Hall of Fame and now possibly the Pro Bowl. Life just doesn't get any better.

Are you telling me that the players actually voted all 13 cowboys in last year. |
Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting
