What Happened to McIntosh
Fincher replaced McIntosh in the second half, does anyone know if he got hurt or was just benched.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
He was horrible today and at one time today I cut him. I'll give him a pass due coming back from injury, but he was horrible today.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
Not sure. What I am sure of is that he didn't have a good game.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
I think Blache benched him. He wasn't hurt because he played on special teams after he was taken out.

Wow, that is a bad sign. Our linebacker situation is not good either. |

We have a weak DL that can't rush the passer, and aside from Fletcher, our LB play has been suspect. How many teams with a front 7 as sketchy as ours finish in the top 10 in defense? We have yet to give up more than 24 points this year. I really hope that Rocky returns to his pre-injury form next year, because he looks lost out there now.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
McIntosh's performance has been very shaky ever since the first Philly game.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
Rocky had a horrible 1st half. He got ran over by Fitzcareerbackup and didn't make the play on the Benson screen pass. 2 fairly routine plays and he didn't make the tackle. But, i still got respect for Rocky, it was just a bad half at the worst possible time. (i hope that it wasn't from lack of effort)

We have three guys that are, individually, great in pass rushing, plus a plethora of other pass rushing options. Our DL lacks a dominating force, yes, but it's very talented.
Because of Blache's schemes though, you don't know this. That's the point. We invest a lot of resources in getting veterans who can pressure the QB, and then we blitz all day, thereby wasting all the resources we use. I don't know what else I can tell you than this. Yes, we need more youth on the DL. But the current edition should be productive. Blache, too often, doesn't let them produce, instead opting to simplify the game for a young QB. Our coverage is iffy in man, but usually top notch in zone. |

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
I think Rocky's time here is limited. His knee problems aren't going away and he's not much of a playmaker even when healthy.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
I mentioned this last summer and I'll just throw it out there again. Maybe we should look at developing Wilson as a LB.

Re: What Happened to McIntosh
Why did Blache take Rogers out?
|
Re: What Happened to McIntosh
if u ask me lb id a more glaring need than any ther on defense..rocky doesnt cut it, there is no depth and marcus is past his prime

I mean, Andre and Taylor and Griffen, I guess there all above average, but in any situation where the 'skins only rushed 4, no one even gets close to the QB. This happened in multiple games, but none as obvious as the Baltimore one. |

Blache says it was because he missed some practice time last week due to illness and wasn't up to speed with the game plan as a result. |

Apparently his chronic knee issues (which we knew about when gave up picks to move up to draft him) have been flaring up. This is bad news. He's still very young and can't make it very far without knee problems. Even worse that we knew about it. Ugh. From Redskins Insider: Jim Zorn spoke briefly today about the status of Redskins corner Carlos Rogers, who lost his starting spot Sunday and battled a stomach ailment last week, and linebacker Rocky McIntosh, whose chronic knee condition is flaring up and who watched the final three quarters of Sunday's game from the sidelines. Zorn would not commit to either player starting against Philadelphia. Defensive coordinator Greg Blache has expressed concerns with McIntosh's play, believing he is "struggling" at least in part because of his knees. Linebacker Alfred Fincher, who has performed well on special teams much of the season, took McIntosh's spot Sunday. The Redskins will likely be playing a lot of nickel defense Sunday, with the Eagles spreading the field often. |
