Braylon Edwards???
ProFootballTalk.com - APPARENTLY, BRAYLON WANTS OUT OF CLEVELAND
Sounds like Braylon Edwards wants to leave Cleveland and there's a lot of talk here about getting another recieving threat besides Moss.....:) |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
No more Recievers. Rebuild our front lines then worry about the people at the pretty positions. Of course knowing Vinny and Snyder there is a good chance that we'll say f**k it and go after Braylon.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
I agree there's other problems that need fixing that might be more important right now but I think having recievers like Edwards and Moss would help JC and the offense score some points which is a big problem right now
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Well since he singlehandedly "resurrected Cleveland from the darkness" maybe he could singlehandedly bring the Skins back to the playoffs, while fighting demons and rescuing little orphans on his off days. What a joke!
The best quote from that article is when he says he is discontinuing his charity efforts in Cleveland in response to incessant heckling. So let me get this straight. The Browns fans heckle you for being a UM guy (actually, it's for dropping like 50 balls that hit you right in the hands, but whatever) and you get them back by cancelling your Cleveland charities? How do you feel now Brows fan, what with the Braylon foundation not handing out Christmas turkeys to poor people this year. That'll teach you to boo a dropped pass! Wow, would be funny if it wasn't, ya know, not funny. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Braylon Edwards? Wasn't he the guy whose hands were so bad when we played them, he couldn't catch a cold even if he tried?
We have enough stone hands on the team, no need to add another. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Ya he has trouble holding on to the ball sometimes which makes him inconsistent but I think he has potential and I don't think he'd be a bad reciever to pick up but that's just my opion... even though he sounds kinda full of himself in this article he has the ability to make big plays...
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
the same Braylon Edwards that said, basically, screw the fans? well, you know what? screw him. no thanks
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Didn't Synder want him in the draft a few years back. I could see him making a move for him. Guys we do need a tall receiver but he does drop alot of balls.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Can Braylon Edwards even catch?
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Where is all this talk here about us getting another receiving threat? Did I miss something...or is this just a Packers fan trying to start something
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
I'm not sure but in Cleveland are the fans not the ones who call the shot's? Look how quick they pulled the plug on Anderson. The owner is quick to side with the fans.
Then the Fan bashing thing.. I say no. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Kid has a bad case of the dropsies. Not interested
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Unless he can play offensive or defensive line he cannot help us.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Braylon Edwards?
Really? I mean... really? |

That's why we drafted 2 WRs last year. Let's give them a chance to develop. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
kind of hard for him to catch the ball if it never gets there, plus didn't we invest 3 draft picks in receivers in the last draft so signing him would say what to the young guys????
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
and last time i checked we have two tall receivers Malcolm Kelly and Devein Thomas 6'4" and 6'2" What's the big rush to replace them
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Let the Packers sign him. We don't NEED him.
|

Re: Braylon Edwards???
Lines. It is all about the Lines. You can have as many position players as you want. You can have so much talent at positions. BUT, if you can't protect your QB and you can not pressure the opposing QB, you will not win football games. Ask the Redskins. They can tell you from present experience and recent past experience. They just don't fix it.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
So tempting. But it would cost an arm and a leg. They guy had 16 TD's last year and was the 3rd pick in the draft. We would have to give up lots of draft picks and we just cant afford to give those up right now. I'd rather us add a WR via free agnecy. But Braylon is a stud just having a down year, he will bounce back.

haha no i'm not a packer fan trying to start something I also watch all the redskins game and like i said imo I think u need another receiver or do you really think having Santana Moss is enough? Having a tall reciever like Edwards would help a struggling JC imo and how many of these recievers that are already on the team do you think deserved to go to the probowl besides MAYBE Moss? I just would like to see JC have another Probowl caliber reciever to throw to but maybe Edwards isnt the man I was just putting it out there see what ppl thought... |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
So what do you suppose they do with Thomas and Kelly?
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
you're not allowed to use them or keep them on the team if you get one more reciever?
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
It would make no sense to keep Moss, still have Thomas and Kelly, and Edwards. Not with the rest of the holes we need to fill. It just doesn't make sense. It bears no further explanation.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
it seems everyone has forgotten about Kelly and Thomas. Sure they havent been as productive as we'd all like but you cant just toss them aside and go looking for someone new. everone here talks about Snyders quick decisions to get rid of our coaches and cycle through them like underwear but then they all suggest we do the same thing with our players. you need to keep the SAME team with the SAME coach for a while until they really start clicking and firing on all cylinders. easy as that. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
we have enough tall recievers let them develop go get some lineman for either side of the ball
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
I agree It's just that it's not everyday you can pick up a probowl reciever but it probably would be better to just develop the young guys already on the team and hope they can produce and be as good or better...
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
we have other needs it would have to be cheap and im sure other teams will give more then we should(vin and dan love to give ten times to much)
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Did Vinny start this thread? If Moss shares with him they will each have 1/2 catch per game. Not a option at this point. Unless he can play the line
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
Say NO to Rod Gardner 2.0 :)
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
honestly....so many recievers out of the draft are busts (high pick or not)....but i did see a little something in Devin Thomas.
I havent seen much of Malcolm.... (just college highlights and a couple dropped passes this season) Everybody wants to "GIVE THEM TIME"... BUT THEN AGAIN, the same people are crying about not seeing results quick enough with the team in general this season. How are we supposed to DEVELOP Recievers when we cant move the ball? If we had Braylon we could develop them thru the 3rd and 4th spots. Hes the Semi-Vertical threat we need. Santana needs to move to the two. Therefore we need a ONE WR. If any of you believe Devin or Malcom is that guy and youve seen something i have not let me kno but. I think Braylon would make a nice Skin. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
I say no too and usually I am for a elite receiver, but I see D.Thomas there next year, in the starting line up next to moss........
|

In the Haynesworth thread you said you wanted to trade moss, now here you have him starting? |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
I think that Edwards will find his place and be great somewhere. I just don't see that place being DC.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards???
NO WAY The guy has no hands which I saw for my own eyes when we played them in DC.
|
That's why we drafted 2 WRs last year. Let's give them a chance to develop.
I agree with Matty on this one. I think our rooks are going to pan out this time. IF we go for another tall WR it will(should) be via the draft in the mid rounds. Early round selections better be tackles or guards, DBs at the very least. |

Can't pull the plug on Devin since he is a rook and has suffered through a shitty offensive system. I personally think we draft another WR or teo in the mid to late rounds of the draft, or pick up an undrafted WR. We need to can Thrash and Randle El, but if Cowher comes in he might want to keep him. All depends on who is coaching next year. That being said, I would be tempted still on Edwards, but our luck with FA WRs has sucked with the exception of Moss. |
Re: Braylon Edwards???
i agree... Braylons probally not our guy. But we do need that vertical threat somewhere.
and i do have high hopes for Devin Thomas. Itll all pan out. hopefully.. |
