Landry deserves a thumbs up too

Landry played out of his mind today.. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Plackemeier had the best game a Redskins punter has had in years. Four punts downed inside the 10, two of which were downed inside the 5. I'm loath to give a kicker player of the game, but he really allowed the Skins to control field position the entire game.

Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
I would say the defense as a whole thumbs up. The offense thumbs down.
|
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs down to Karem Moore and the block in the back on the Moss punt return. It's penalties like that one which stunt positive momentum.

I personally thought that was a pretty lame call. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
2 Thumbs up for LL.
i really believe this guy is coming "into his own" and becoming the playmaker we hoped to get when we drafted him. not saying he hasnt been good for us thus far but NOW he is just dominating! i love it |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs Up:
Landry, Plackemeier, Taylor, Fletcher, Hall. Thumbs Down: Jim Zorn, the offense. |

The holding penalty on Cooley was pretty lame too |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
I personally thought that was a pretty lame call.
Really? I forget who he blocked on the play, but Moss shot right by Moore as he was pushing the guy over pretty much from behind. Anyway, I think the more lame call was the phantom holding penalty on Cooley. That was a joke. Thumbs up: Jason Taylor, Laron Landry, Plackemeier Thumbs down: 3rd down playcalling, scoring offense |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
JT definitely deserves some props. I think we saw that he's still got plenty left.
JT definitely deserves some props. I think we saw that he's still got plenty left.
Taylor looked explosive coming off the edge for the first time all season. Perhaps we should give him the benefit of a doubt that his calf injury held him back much of the year. I still don't think we can afford to bring him back at $8M. Hopefully he'll be open to restructuring the final year of his contract.

Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Jason Taylor played a great game as did Fletcher. Why Fletcher is not going to Hawaii baffles me.
Zorn called a good game too. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs up to Summo. The holiday graphics here are outstanding!

REAL lame. Thumbs up = Landry-Hall-Taylor-Fletcher-Plackemeier Thumbs down = Fabini-Moore-Whoevers responsible for that return on the missed FG |

Hall got lucky DeSean Jackson dropped a TD and a long gainer. I'm sorry but I would not sign Hall for more than 3 years. I still don't trust him. |

Good point. He did get lucky a couple of times. |

Well, we definitely shouldn't give him the kind of contract Oakland did, however I think we need him on this team for sure. He had an outstanding game today. Desean's dropped TD isn't reason alone to have worries about him. |

Zorn tried to run the ball in the 4th quarter to no avail. The run blocking was just plain and simply awful. Let's not forget that running the ball in the 4th quarter is how we beat both Dallas and Philly earlier in the season. So he basically was going with what had worked before. This is another example of how the o-line brings this team down. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs up to Jason Taylor. It took em up until week 16 to show up to the party but nonetheless a player we cant give up on. I expect him to get to the QB next week in SF too. Itll be nice to have a healthy Jason Taylor next season.
DeAngelo Hall...RE-SIGN HIM! We Will. Hes Ours. London Fletcher & Laron Landry...Need I Say More? |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
thumbs up- Zorn's play calling. he called winning football. that game was all about field position.
thumbs down- Zorn, for trying that long field goal. the redskins were lucky that baby wasn't run back for a touchdown |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs up - defense and special teams; they put us in great situations to crush the Eagles pretty much the whole 4th quarter
Thumbs down - JC and the offense; had great field position in the 4th quarter and couldn't drive the dagger home. I don't know about you guys but JC is is not looking like a pro QB the last half of this season. I know that the o-line has a lot to do with the production of this offense, but he is not making good decisions. I would like to see an open competition going into next years traning camp. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
One other note about that 54 yard FG attempt, did you notice how Zorn called a timeout right before it?
Way to go for trying to ice your own kicker, Jim. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Up: The D, and the punter.
Down: Campbell. He couldnt hit water from a boat yesterday. The few times he did succeed the receivers need to make great catches to reel in poorly aimed balls. |

For example, there was one time when Thomas had to turn back in on a pass. And I suspect that there was a miscommunication there and I'll give the benefit of the doubt to JC there. I think they just need to play more together and that should get better. |

I remember that pass and after seeing how JC cant hit a reciever in stride I said to myself "typical JC pass". IMO, if the Skins had a decent QB they'd be in the playoffs. JC is the biggest reason this O cant score. He's just not an accurate enough passer. If it was mental stuff I might understand but this is fundamentals that I would have thought that someone 4 or 5 years in the league would have fixed. I am more convinced than ever that by 2010 JC wont be the Skins QB. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
we need to try to keep most of the defense intact they were the reson we won most of our games.the offense is pretty bad start the rebuilding at the offensive line
|
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Thumbs Up:
Justin Tryon No joke. He's always down there on punts. I'd say he's doing better than Torrence in that aspect.... Good coverage JT!! |

This was the first game in about two months where he actually had protection.............at the start of the year he had protection and did great. He'll do fine next week. He just needed one game of protection to get over his fear of being hit every single play. |
Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
Big Thumbs Down to Jason Campbell. He is terribly inaccurate, even when he isnt being pressured. There is simply no excuse for that. Hopefully we can trade him in the offseason. I'd take a 2nd rounder for him and be very happy.

Re: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
thumbs up for finally getting a challenge right zorn. it took 15 games to get one and it probobly prevented them from getting at least 3 points

Okay, but after five consecutive possessions in opponents territory that ended with three-and-outs you think it would be time to adjust the playcalling and Zorn did not do that. |

Well I was buying into the O Lines fault until I watched the Dallas/Giants game. Both Dallas and the Giants O Lines had trouble protecting their QB but they still managed to get the ball down field. Also both of their O Lines gave up more sacks then ours did when we played them. While we do need help on the line I'm starting to get tire of all the excuses for JC. |
