Woah, so Tomlinson's not playing? That's kind of big news.

I'm really enjoying this first game.

he's having a great rookie year.. He's a fantastic young QB. And I hope he does bring them back. I picked Atlanta.

Good for the Cards, they played a solid game. I didn't think they could get it done. It's hard for me to see them any other way than at the bottom of the NFC EAST, the good old days.

They still can't win on the road enjoy this one.

FOR THE CARDS, WEATHER BECOMES A FACTOR NEXT WEEK
Posted by Mike Florio on January 3, 2009, 7:57 p.m.

Sure, the Arizona Cardinals won for the second time in the postseason since 1947, in their first home playoff game since that same year.

But, now, they’ve got to go on the road.

“Hopefully we can parlay this into some more confidence, where we believe we can go wherever we have to go and win,” quarterback Kurt Warner told NBC’s Tiki Barber after the 30-24 victory.

The only problem? The Cardinals are 0-5 on the road this year against teams that don’t reside in the worst division in football, the NFC West.

On September 21, they lost to the Redskins in D.C., 24-17. A week later came the 56-35 debacle in the Meadowlands, against the Jets.

On October 26, the Cardinals lost 27-23 to the Panthers in Charlotte. On Thanksgiving night, they fell by the score of 48-20 to the Eagles in Philly.

On December 21, they were blown out by 40 points during a snowstorm in Foxborough.

Those last two games came in the cold and/or the snow; thus, a key factor when the Cardinals return to New Jersey or North Carolina next weekend will be the weather.

For Charlotte on Saturday, January 10, Weather.com forecasts a high temperature of 51, a low of 30, and a 30-percent chance of precipitation.

For East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday, January 11, Weather.com predicts a high of 29, a low of 22, and a 60-percent chance of snow.

So, basically, the Cardinals are hoping that the Eagles beat the Vikings, so that Philly would go to New York and Arizona would head to Carolina.

Yeah, the Falcons do have a lot to look forward to. Down here, the talk all week was about who they would play in the second round. Guess the fans and radio dudes forget that Kurt Warner still can play.

Bro. You're really down on you're Skins. Look they showed promise in the first part of the season. So they can play well. If we come in healthy and some of our rooks show up. I think we have good things to look forward too. As far as JC he's better than he looks. The team wins or loses not JC.

Carolina is warmer for sure in the winter, but the weather isn't going to be anything close to AZ weather. Charlotte doesn't get much snow, but that area does get freezing rain and just above freezing temps. Even if it is a sunny day those AZ boys are going to be cold. It will be a good game, but I expect Carolina to take the Cards down.

Going by the Line,

I think I'll take the Vikings with -3.5 and I'll take Baltimore with 2.5

Baltimore is my Away team upset.

Lol. It's strange how players and coaches are succesful before and after they are part of the Skins org. With the exceptions of course! Good for Norv.

I'm glad Norv won, but he has never really done that stellar before, during, or after with any organization. Marty built such an amazingly talented team that Norv didn't even really have to do anything.

????
Norv has accomplished plenty. He is a very respected offensive coach in the NFL. He game plans a game better than anyone.
Norv was credited for developing Troy Aikman. If you hear Troy talk he loves Norv and credits Norv for bring the Offensive system that developed in Dallas.

And he knows how to put up points with mediocre receivers;)

Re: 2008 Wildcard Weekend Gameday thread

Did anyone see that first drive from the Fins? Not a single pass to a receiver and they went 60 yards and had second and goal from the 1 yard line before settling for a field goal. Why can't the Skins do that?

I don't even think they completed a pass to a tight end. I think it was just Cobbs (their 3rd RB).

I'd take Norv or Zorn. Norv may not be HC material but he knows NFL offense. As long as you have a strong veteran team and a good defensive coordinator Norv isn't a bad HC.
