Sign him now!!!!!! D'Hall and Pac Man. You kidding me? We're set for the next 10 years

In all seriousness though, I've heard this neck injury Jones has is pretty serious and he might be encouraged to call it a career

Some say that he was released because his neck will be a career-ending injury.

PACMAN ERA ENDING IN BIG D
Posted by Mike Florio on January 7, 2009, 6:31 p.m.

The Dallas Cowboys have announced that cornerback Pacman Jones will be released.

The move, per the team, will be made official on February 9, the first day that teams can make waiver requests.

The Cowboys acquired Jones via trade from the Titans last year. He later was reinstated after being suspended for all of the 2007 season.

Owner Jerry Jones assigned a 24-hour security detail to Jones in order to keep him out of further trouble. But Jones got into trouble by getting into a fight with one of the members of the security detail.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones for six more games.

Jones appeared in nine games and started six for the Cowboys. On defense, he registered 31 tackles, seven passes defended, and no interceptions. He returned seven kickoffs for a 22.1-yard average, and 21 punts for a 4.5-yard average.

He fumbled three times, forced a fumble, and scored no touchdowns.

Though the specific reasons for the move are not yet known, owner Jerry Jones likely was concerned that, without constant babysitting, Jones won’t make it through an offseason without getting into trouble again.

The fact that he’s soon to be unemployed could keep him in line, at least until he finds a new team.

Wait, who are we kidding? We’re talking about Pacman Jones here. He’ll be riding in the backseat of a car with rear windows but no way to put them down before you know it.

It's gonna be hard to make it rain with no job. At this point he'll be lucky if Burger King hires him.

Wouldn't it be ironic if he played through it and ended up like the bouncer in the Vegas strip club incident? Karma's a bitch.

Yeah I agree that is really ironic that a spinal injury would do him in similar to that bouncer in Vegas.

At least in this life you get second chances...his Las Vegas victim gets a second chance at seeing Pacman punished for his reckless actions.

Not really. It's actually pretty relevant. Our arch-rival just parted ways with a newsworthy, huge gamble they made last offseason. How is that pointless??
I suppose crying racism on a Vick thread is more meaningful...

The name calling is uncalled for, first off. Secondly, I don't think Scud ever actually said you were the one crying racism.

Finally, how could you not see that this is a relevant topic? Explain why it isn't

Re: Pac Man out in Dallass

The Cowboys are ALSO going to let Tank Johnson go into free agency. Before that thread gets started, this is someone else that the Redskins should avoid.

Johnson thinks he is a Pro Bowl type player and wants that kind of money. In reality, he is a marginal over the DTs currently on the Skins' roster. That is the talent side of the equation. Johnson also brings with him a reputation as a locker room annoyance.

Let's see: Thinks he is better player than he really is; wants big money; reputation as an annoyance in the locker room. Oh yeah. Skins need that like you need a case of hay fever and diarreah at the same time...

well since noone has mentioned it i will . . . damn glad we got los instead of pacman in the draft. i must admit i didnt care which of the 3 corners we got that year as long as we got 1 of them but i had pacman slightly over los.

on another note this may be a good example to college players that the partying days of the 80s and 90s are over in the nfl. you must act accordingly and your job isnt guaranteed just b/c you have athletic ability.

dare i say good job to goddell for making real strides in letting these young kids know the nfl demands professional men not partying rich kids with an over-blown sense of self.

go skins!!

can we say a big "i told you so" to all those boys fans who insisted their franchise could change pacman?

There's less dysfunction in Cowboy land. This is a sad day in history.
