Resident Evil 5 Demo
If you have a xbox 360 and a gold memebership you need to down load this game! Oh man it was fun!
I can't wait for the game to come out. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Is it only going to come out on Xbox? I just finished Bioshock on PS3 and I'm going to need a new obession pretty soon.
*EDIT - nope, it'll be on PS3 as well. Word to your mother - Vanilla Ice style! |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I loved RE4, hopefully this one is just as good if not better.
I loved RE4, hopefully this one is just as good if not better.
I bought it for PS2 and literally couldnt get past the first dude with a chainsaw. I only tried a handful of times, but I got so annoyed that I never played it again, and I've since moved on to a PS3.
Maybe I should go back and give it another whirl. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I down loaded the new Tomb Raider and it looks really good as well. I love when you have to climb up like a million diffrent types of cliffs to get where you want and you know if you make one false step you are screwed and will have to start over.
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
on a side note, have you seen the new "real life" tomb raider? jeebus.
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
What if you have a PS3? Oh and is the dialog the same corny crap from RE4? I'm a huge Resident Evil fan, been one since 1997 with the original but Resident Evil 4's just made me crazy with not only a depressing uninteresting environment (the graphics were great but a castle?) and a lackluster story just ruined the game for me. The gameplay also wore down for me midway through the game.
I have to say though I'm excited about this one as the story not only ties in loose ends from so many other places within the series but the plot itself actually looks very interesting. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Just downloaded the demo for PS3 and WOW. The game is nothing short of beautiful in the graphics department. I can already tell that this time around the story will be a lot better then RE4 but the whole "Aww sh*t I'm going down f**k" was a little over the top. Also it seems like a monkey designed the control scheme that or I got to used to Dead Space especially the run and shoot aspect. However I liked how there never seemed to be enough ammo as it definitely made things more tense then the last installment where you seemed to have enough ammo to supply the troops in Iraq. I'm actually starting to regret pre-ordering Killzone 2. Looks like COD WAW is going to be a trade in for me. Either way I'm getting this on March 19th. And since it's two weeks after Killzone it'll definitely give me enough time to save up the money.

I haven't picked up RE5 yet, how is it? Worth the buy?

Some pretty good reviews on Amazon.com sounds like I will wait and buy a used one. One of my fav things about the RE series were the puzzles and hidden junk in the game that helped the story unfold, now it seems since RE4 the series has become more of just a shooter, which is fine I guess. I remeber playing (still have the game) RE one in college when it first came out. Man my grades dipped for about a month. That game was just so damn cool! |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I played RE5 over the weekend. Graphically it's one of the best games I've seen. But the control system is so stiff and clunky it totally ruins the game for me. Back to GameFly with this one. Pretty disappointing.

How do you like Game Fly? I thinking about asking for that for my b-Day. How much you pay? I think I only need one disk at a time. I need to get Dead Space! |

I like it. It's $16/month for one game out at a time. I'm thinking of getting Dead Space again. I was about half way through. |

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Hello, folks. I'm new here & this is gonna be my very first post here. Let me just start by saying "Hail to the Redskins" & "Cowboys suck!"
Ok, now that that's out of the way (for now), I absolutely LOVED RE5. I know the controls were basically the same as before, but that was part of what I love about it. It separates it from the rest of the games in this category. The graphics are awesome, the gameplay was great, IMO~I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The horror element in this series has shifted a bit. In RE2, my favorite in the series, the horror was not exactly knowing what was coming around the next corner. The Tyrant made it all the scarier when you played the "B" part of the game. When RE4 came out, they changed the horror element to, "you know what's coming, we dare you to stop them." In RE5, that pretty much continued with the added "here's a few dozen more Las Plagas & Euro-Zombies then before...don't run out of ammo. haha" This game was crazy good. Out of a 10 rating, I give it...a 10. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I found the controls to be much worse than RE4. Didn't mind the controls at all for RE4, but for RE5 I just can't get over how bad they are. Totally ruins the game for me.
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Really? Huh. I didn't find the controls much different from RE4 & didn't happen to mind them at all. It sucks that you can't run & shoot at the same time, but that's not really all that different from the rest of them. I don't know, maybe I'm just such a fan of the series that their shortcomings simply don't matter to me. All the good things about the game make up for the things they didn't do right...
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
The controls are the same, but just more stiff. I dunno, just can't explain it. Maybe I've just become so used to playing games like COD4 and those type of controls that I can't get used to RE again.
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
^ I am pretty sure that if I remeber correctly from the demo you can switch controls. you can choose either traditional RE controls or more first person type control, is this not possible?
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I don't know, I'll have to check when I get my 360 back in a month. F'ing red ring of death... again.

AGAIN??? Wow. Happen twice to me. From what I have heard and I have done this too with excellant results is don't plug it into a power strip just stright into the wall, the huge transform it comes with has a surge protector built into it. Are you paying anything out of pocket for repairs? |

My current has been going strong for over a year, knock on wood, of course I have not played it much this year. Also do you know you can download a game to your hard drive now and play off the hard drive. This should help as well and it is much quieter and quicker start up times. |

You do need some patience with popular new releases. You might have to wait a good 3-4 weeks before the availability is there. The good thing though is they tell what games have high availability, medium, or low. If a game on your list isn't available they just send the next one. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Wow, it sounds like you guys have had some serious troubles with your XBOX's. Sorry to hear that fellas (or ladies, if there are any in here discussing this). I have my XBOX on sometimes longer then 24 hours at a time & no troubles whatsoever with mine. It is my "everything" box. I play music & movies on it all the time too.
One of my best friends keeps trying to get me into the PS3. I used to be a PS guy, but it got so expensive that XBOX360 was the better way for me. Still can't afford the PS at this point. The cheapest I've seen it is still around $400. That's insane. I paid $200 for my XBOX360 over a year ago & I have absolutely no complaints. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Give it some time. I don't know anyone that hasn't had a problem at some point.
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Actually, I have a group of friends that get down with some XBOX360 & only a few of them have had issues. My understanding has been that the majority of the problems were with "first gens" & that MOST of the bugs since then have been worked out. Would I be wrong? Here's to aimlessly hoping, anyway. :D

I was one of the first to get an Xbox in 2005 (?). I think there is just a revolving door with the early models that is why they fix them for free. Mine breaks they fix it, Matty's breaks they send him my repaired broken one, you get a diffrent xbox each time they don't give you back your exact one, so the cycle just keeps going round and round. UPS probably made some awesome money off this "ring of death". |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
Mine is a later model though. My first one broke and I went out and bought a new one 15 months ago. I had the first one repaired and when I got it back I sold it to a friend. I have a couple other friends who have newer models who have had the red ring of death too.

Yes & no. I used to work for UPS. They lost more money then they made due to theft & damages. I worked with a guy who was caught stealing over a dozen of the first shipments of the PS3 & I had heard similar stories about the XBOX360. Not the same guy, although it wouldn't surprise me. What wasn't stolen was damaged in transit a lot of the time. |

Ok where is the Bill Gates thread sucks? =) |
Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo
I just checked out the demo for the new Fear on PS3... I can honestly say, developers may have finally caught up with the system's technology. Insane resolution and graphics- really good physics too.
