He's not very good. He probably wouldn't even make our roster.

Fred Taylor intrigues me a little bit, but not enough to pine for his signing.

Seriously, why would we want him? The guy has a lot of miles and long injury history. We need a change of pace back to pair with Portis, not an aging, oft-injured, between the tackles runner.

I don't think he'd be an upgrade over Betts either. We're not going to carry four RB's, so the only way we he'd make the 53 man is if we cut/traded either Rock or Ladell.

Tripp- why does Fred Taylor interest you and not Deuce? They seem pretty similar to me at this point in their careers...

While RB is not a need I would like a complement to Portis. Deuce is not the change of pace runner they need in my opinion. Plus his best days are behind him (I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade over Ladell at this point). The Skins need a youth movement throughout the entire roster. They need to resist the urge to sign re-treads and hope they discover the fountain of youth.

I'd like to add, If we were to go after a RB in FA. I would say Derrick Ward would be the man.

They seem pretty similar to me at this point in their careers...[/quote]Maybe you are right about them being similar now, but Taylor has that long track record of success in many different schemes where as McAllister had one nice year in 2006, has been injury prone his entire career, and speaking generally, not all that good.

I like Taylor from the "If Portis goes down, who of all the available players would you want to replace him" angle, but he doesn't exactly fill our need at the position of getting some youth with gamebreaker type skills to compliment what we already have.

Thus, I'm not sure he'd be a good investment, even on a two year basis.

Hi guys, just a little insight from a saints season ticket holder since 2006, NO... I love Duece as a person but his knees are shot. As someone mentioned earlier F. Taylor would be a better pick up than Duece, but only because of health reasons. Both are over the hill. CALM DOWN DANNY BOY, PUT DOWN YOUR CHECK BOOK!
