2009 Redskins Opponents

Other than PHILLY :) , St. Louis, Detroit and Oakland, it looks like a tough schedule. KC could be greatly improved this season.

With the way we've been playing lately I wouldn't take any game for granted, especially Filth-a-delphia.

I see 7-8 wins off of the bat. I just hope we can split in the division, we might have a shot.

It's been a long time since we've had so many softball games in a single season.

Playing the NFC South is no picnic, but we should go at least 2-2 there.

I stopped caring while back who our upcoming opponents are, just look at last years season and the supposed gimme games. Need Zorn to keep them focused and this year has lotta promise.

Re: 2009 Redskins Opponents

Don't forget Denver! They have the weakest linebacking corps in the league. Heck, Portis just might break the rushing record against them!

The Goat 03-11-2009 02:25 PM

Re: 2009 Redskins Opponents

Denver probably takes a LB w/ their first pick (12) which will improve that group... I'm hoping they fall for Cushing and pass on Rey but I doubt it. Damn!!!

Dan Snyder has taken the fighting spirit out of y'all. We should hope to get the best teams on our schedule not the weak ones. We'll only be the best if we beat the best.

nfc east and south - that's 10 good games right there. I'm not worried about the afc right now, but SD and KC could turn out to be pretty good.

Other than the AFC West (and remember we lost to the raiders :( ) the NFC South seriously contended for best division in the league. I think that will be an excellent year of games between the East and South. Our division always tests us. Should be a great year!

- I also heard a verrry weak rumor(no link it probably was a fan, not me, dreaming) that we would open SNF at Dallas to open their stadium- MAN how sweet would it be to ruin their grand opening!!!!!!

We lost to ST. Louis and almost blew it in Detroit last year. I'm only checking the two games against Philly as Guaranteed wins.

Don't laugh, but don't underestimate Oakland. They always play us tough and they have a lot of talent on that roster and we play them on their turf.

They never draft BPA with their perennial top ten draft pick, and they have no idea who is good in free agency.

We can't just say "yeah, we'll beat them" because we didn't beat them with our best team in the last 8 years (2005), but you already know that they aren't going to be improved over last year.

I don't know if you have looked at their roster? They do have talent, probably one of the best LB trio in the league, awesome RB's (I think Michael Bush could be better than McFadden). I think they could surprise this year. Please stop laughing!!

Please stop laughing!![/quote]They don't even have a system to make use of McFadden's versatility though. They drafted him so Lane Kiffin could use him creatively then promptly fired Kiffin for not winning immediately.

The Raiders totally piss away draft picks like no other team in history. They overvalue players for gimmicky reasons, then give up on them really early in their careers.

I don't see how a team that spins its wheels in place professionally could surprise anyone. Every year, there are tons of opportunities to improve, and every year, they throw millions of dollars at simply bad players.

I'm not disagreeing with you that the Raiders have some good young talent. You've just taken a sentimental truth about every team in the NFL (i.e. has young, promising talent) and picked the one team that is most likely to blame it's young talent for it's continued failures as a potential breakout candidate.

The Raiders model for success is to accidentally win, then find out what went right.

They did beat a TB team that was desperate for a playoff spot in Tampa. I'm just saying...

Why would you waste time trying to predict wins this time of year? While you’re at it why not try and predict the 2010 draft order and when players will get picked too?

Re: 2009 Redskins Opponents

I must say I'm looking forward to going to the Chargers and Raiders games. It's not that often that I can see the Redskins play twice in CA during the same season.:httr:

I have a question, why do we play the Rams so much?

K.C. is going to suck again.

just cuz they got cassel doesnt mean shit.

they will continue to be terrible... and he will look like a clown there, they are nothing compared to the Pats

Yup, just like when you guys thought you were going to beat the Iggles in the postseason or we thought we were going to beat the Rams, Cincy, and SF.

You must be a newbe,I never thought any such thing ask anyone around here who knows me,as a matter of fact the Eagles were the game I didn't want .I hate in the divison playoff games..........nice try.:food-smil

Correct...and that's a good thing! That is what keeps it exciting. Guaranteed wins would get boring quickly.

That's a bad thing. It means we keep finishing in the same place in our division as the sorry Lambs finish in theirs.

I'm not a newbie and I wasn't talking about you specifically, I was reiterating the point that you brought up that there are no guaranteed wins in the NFL. I'm sure a lot of NYG fans thought they could beat the Eagles, since the Giants had such a good season. Also, a lot of fans here, including yours truly, thought that games against St. Louis, Cincy, and SanFran.

That's what I'm talking about baby! It's good to see not everyone is looking for easy wins. Me, I'm looking forward to seeing if we can go toe to toe with NJG. I also want to play the Panthers and Tampa Bay who I hate. I want some pay back against Oakland. I had to treat my buddy to burgers at Nations when I was living out there over that one. Didn't we lose to Kansas City too? Pay back! Oh yeah, I want a piece of San Diego. Let's not forget, we have to stomp the shit out of Dall-ass this year.
