Ken Lucas anyone?

starter in this league. big upgrade over Smoot. wouldn't mind seeing him here. and could probably get fairly cheap. off topic, wonder if he is any realtion to Frank Lucas? |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
He would be worth a look.
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Nah, I think that we are set at CB. He is not much of an upgrade over Smoot. Isn't he a cover 2 corner? Even if the price is right, I am not interested n the guy. Besides, he would probably rather start somewhere else.
Edit: After further review he is not a Cover 2 corner, but I still believe that he would want to start somewhere else. |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Lucas CUT!?!
Damn, now who is Steve Smith going to beat up at camp? |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I'd definitely bring the guy in. I think he could be a solid contributor to this team. I think he's a huge upgrade over Fred Smoot and it could move Smoot down to a dime corner, which seems like it may be more where he belongs now.

NO. Overrated, He was torched by AZ in the playoffs

Really? Would you not sign any of the Pitt corners either? I mean, Warner threw for like 370 on them. Their whole defense must be useless... |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
He's 30 yrs old. He's too old. We need to get younger. He only had 2 INT. last yr. He would probably want too much money for what little he does. Please DS if you have a heart don't sign him. Look the other way. I'm sure he has a criminal record somewhere.
LOL. Just thought I would throw all the BS stuff out there now so no one else could. Now we can have a serious discussion about him. LOL. |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I know Warner torched just about everyone last year. i was ust giving the latest example....not breaking down his whole career. I just think we shouldn't spend any on DB's in FA right now.
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I'd be interested in Lucas, but Daven Holly is the best thing on the CB market given the relative health of his knee.
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I was wondering this too yesterday, as Tripp recalls I'm a big Daven Holly fan so I'd concur that I'd look at him first, but whether it's Holly or Lucas or someone else I'd imagine we'll bring some veteran DB in at some point this spring/summer.
My inclination though is to say no to Lucas |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Id considering bringing in Lucas to play free safety, but not corner. Even then, it would have to be cheap.
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
yes id bring him in, if he fits our system,
2, who is daven holly?? |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Bring back THE ADE!

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I am pretty sure Dallas is looking at him, and there are several other teams that could use and pay starting CB money. I doubt we are even in the discussions.

Both have been violated by Steve Smith. Anyway, the only way we bring in another corner is if it is for a minimum deal and as a #1 corner, Lucas will make a lot more than the minimum. |

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
They should have signed Leigh Bodden instead.

Who should have signed Bodden? And instead of whom? |

Redskins instead of Patriots for a measly $750k/year. |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Well maybe, apparently Blache has a hard-on for corners that get burnt.

? I am talking about Lucas, and referring to the Skins corners Hall and Smoot as Blache's turnons |

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
well, anyone who had seen Smoot play last year knows he couldn't cover someones grandmother. Lucas is definitely an upgrade. but so would just about anyone else
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
no, wouldn't take a look at him. again, living in charlotte you hear more than you do else where. He isn't very good in man coverage, more of a cover two corner. They use to beat this guy up in charlotte all the time, really not worth the look.

I'm positive I'm not the only one who finds this funny? |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Samari Rolle is going to be released soon. He's on the older side (33, in August), but he's had a very similar career path to Shawn Springs if all we are looking for is a Springs replacement.

How about Chris McAlister? |
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
How about Chris McAlister?
On my spreadsheet (about to send Matty the updated version), I have them both rated at 79, but intuitively, I think Rolle is the much better player of the two. I don't know whether or not I'm overvaluing McAlister, or undervaluing Rolle, but they shouldn't have the same rating, so I'll have to fix that somehow.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
But CM is three younger right? Two years maybe?
|
Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
But CM is three younger right? Two years maybe?
My ages are ages as of 9/1/09. I have McAlister at 32 then, and Rolle having just turned 33. So they are within a year of each other in terms of birthdate.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
All of the following are CBs ages 30-33 who I've given relatively similar ratings to:
Ken Lucas, 30 Samari Rolle, 33 Dre Bly, 32 Chris McAlister, 32 Corey Ivy, 32 Patrick Surtain, 33 |
10 months in real life equals 28 on a football field. You should know that
Ha! You didn't tell me that PFR recorded Chris McAlister's age in dog years!
Though if I wanted to insure my investment would be on the field for 16 games, I'd just sign the dog. |
