Donte Stallworth involved in accident - 1 person killed

Donte Stallworth apparently was driving and struck a pedestrian who died.

Sounds like it was purely accidental with no alcohol or drugs involved. He's got to be feeling terrible over this.

I really hope this was an accident. I remember a year or two ago Stallworth was a guest analyst on NFL Network and he seemed like a really good dude. Very nice and well spoken. I don't think he's had any previous incidents.

One thing to point out- He received a $4.75M roster bonus on Friday, and was out driving at 7am on Saturday morning. I hope he hadn't been up all night celebrating that gigantic paycheck. I guess we'll know when the blood tests come back.

Regardless my condolences go out to the victim's family. Crappy situation.

I think I read somewhere that Stallworth reportedly ran a red light when he hit the guy. That's not going to help

I guess i will never understand why athletes dont hire a limo all night to go partying, they have the money to afford it, spend the money and dont put your self in the position to drink and drive.

Athletes need to learn one thing. ONE THING. Nothing good happens after midnight. You never hear about these guys getting into trouble at 2 in the afternoon. It's always after midnight.

Well I guess now with Goodell he's screwed though. I'm sure that Vick will still be more demonized than Stallworth.

My father always said this. And anyone who listens to Jim Rome has likely heard the "Nothing good happens outside the club at 2 am". But yeah geez get a cab or something.

If you think about it we should all follow that rule or least cabs. Cabs and or Limo's are cheaper then a DUI.

Not from me, but I think you are right unfortunately. He should never sniff an NFL field again. EVER. Unbelievable. But we already have at least one guy who killed someone while driving drunk and then got busted for driving drunk again and he is still in the league. Un-be-lie-vable.

I don't know. $5 to $10 is a lot of money for an NFL player.

So someone explain to me how this whole BAC works. If he was over the legal limit at 7am does that mean he was drinking at 7 in the morning? Or does it mean that he got extremely hammered the night before, and woke up still slightly drunk?

He could have still been up from the night before. Or maybe he passed out somewhere, woke up and was on his way home. If he was drinking heavily that night he could easily still be drunk in the AM if there wasn't enough time for his body to process the alcohol in his system.

Re: Donte Stallworth involved in accident - 1 person killed

I think if memory serves, the average male body can process about 2 drinks per hour.(or beers). Beyond that, you begin to......get hammered.
Dude is toast. Whatever is left after prison will be stripped of by the atty's for the family and estate

It depends on the individual and other factors, but generally your liver can process 1 drink per hour.

when you get behind the wheel and your over .08 you run the risk of this happening. Had a judge the other day tell me about a guy who was just over .08, was driving cautiously and was going thru an intersection with a green light (he had right of way) and a pedestrian tried to jay walk, pedestrian died and the guy was sentenced for vehicular manslaughter.

no matter how cautious you are at driving after a few you can not control what others on the road might do. i learned kinda the hard way, thankfully the guy was not injured or killed and he was cited as well (police found him at fault) but man, 2 seconds later and i could have been in donte stallworth's shoes.

scary.

go skins!!
