Gardner has got to go!
Enough is enough with this guy. He'll catch an impossible 51yd pass and then drop everything else. I keep hoping he's going to pull it together but c'mon!! And you have to think that Ramsey's value is decreasing by the minute.
|
just a horrible horrible day for the entire team and coaching staff... i don't know much but i was looking for some screens after NY kept on blitzing but i guess the prayer-lob play was more enticing..
|
he shouldnt be our number two guy. hed acutally be a huge mismatch as a number three. but we never run three receiver sets.
|

Seriously. Get Thrash in there NOW! Hell on the goaline , get McCants ass in there. You know damn well he would catch a airplane if you throw it to him in the endzone. The book is still out with me on Ramsey, I freakin love the guy, but he cant make such stupid decisions. He would have had one hell of a day if he dosent chuck the ball up for whatever. God this game pisses me off we should have won so easliy its not even funny. |
I agree that Gardner has to focus more during the game but if he can get it together then he will be pretty good. I think that he dropped the ball on the goal line that would've won this game. I believe that if we trade him as of now, this team will be weaker. Gibbs should get MCcants in Monday nights game because he is a position receiver with good hands.
|
Don't worry guys, we all know we should have won this one. When we win next weeks game then all will be ok. If you look at the preseason Gibbs won one the lost the next. i hope that this is not a sign of what is to come the rest of the season.
|
If this is a sign of whats to come, they mine as well sign all of us for the league minimum. Cause thats what some of the guys on our offense played liek today.
|
Ok, now that I have had to time to cool down....
Gardner has got to go!!!! And I'm not saying we need to trade him but a demotion on the depth chart at least. You can't tell me Thrash couldn't catch more than half the balls thrown at him. Brute 44, how many years are we going to wait on this guy? This isn't just one bad day by him, he is completely inconsistant when the game is on the line. |
I agree that he has been inconsistent throughout the years but he has the speed that Thrash doesn't. If we demote him than I don't have a problem with that. I believe MCcants is a good receiver that should be given a chance to start. Was MCcants even activated for this one?
|
Amen Bro!!!!! Well said.
|
One more week like this, I figure, and he's going to start losing time to McCants.
Coles also droped a crucial one. ANd you know what the killer was? A false start penlaty on the 1 yard line that put us into a passing down. THen Ramsey threw the INT. If we don't jump, we punch it in on the run, and we are in business. Man. |
Yup, just bad decisions all around today.
|
JW, the difference is that when Coles drops one, you know it's rare and that he'll be clutch the next time, when they throw it to Gardner I feel like I'm at the Mirage betting on black and hoping that the ball doesn't drop on red or green. It's a total gamble.

How dare you steal part of my thread! :angry-smi I have said it all along, should have traded him for anything, bag of ball's, whatever we could have got, now we couldn't get a key chain with a football on it for him! |
I know one thing, Gibbs will have the taem FIRED :cussing: FIRED :angry-smi FIRED :grouphug: UP for next Monday night.
|
Offiss, check the time mark baby!!! Just kidding.
|
i meant team :cool-smil
|
Coles dropped some big ones. So did Portis. Should we let them go too?
|
C'mon Saden, there's a difference between a bad game with past proven performance and consistantly inconsistant performances. COles and Portis had bad days but have good track records. Gardner doesn't have a leg to stand on.
|
can't blame it all on him.coles, portris, pretty much the whole offense played like crap.the defense only gave up 13 pts, they just seemed out of sync or snakebit today.i would not want to be any of them this week because turnovers drive coach gibbs nuts.you better believe he will work the holy hell out of them this week.if they can avoid turnovers next week, they should beat the cowboys.plus you have to know that gibbs will really motivate them before the game monday night.i can't believe they played so shitty against an awful team.take away the turnovers and the skins win easy.
|
Gotta execute out there. If Gardner keeps dropping them, he'll sit. One more week of the drops is all he'll get, in my opinion. And then the 51-yarder was just incredible... I hate that guy.
|
gibbs does'nt care how much a player earns, ask portis.after his second fumble he sat him out a few series.
|
If I were Gibbs I'd send a message by demoting Gardner on the depth chart and start Thrash or McCants..........same story last week and now this week... number of
non-catches and drops inexcusable........wide open too...... |
Offiss, check the time mark baby!!! Just kidding.
I know but when you see that much typing by me, it usually mean's I started writing about 1/2 an hour before the normal human being's. :cheeky-sm |

Speed isn't everything...Art Monk wasn't the fastest, but he was one of the most reliable....good hands receiver, that's what we need....Thrash or McCants just someone else other than Gardner.......... |
Coles dropped some big ones. So did Portis. Should we let them go too?
Gardner's nickname is 50/50. Enough said. |
Man, Gardner would have been gone a long time ago, but no one wanted him. No let him play and f**k our team since he was a first round draft pick. Man get him out of here. Make him sit on the bench by himself. McCants must get off of that freakin' inactive list and help this team.
|
COles and Portis had bad days but have good track records. Gardner doesn't have a leg to stand on.
coles? bad day? he had one drop... 9 catches, 100 yards... i hope every day is a bad day at that rate... gardner is just maddening, which one's real? mccants has the hands and is big enough to go over the middle... taylor is a coles clone (though not as good right now)... |
I agree, I think it is time to set Gardner down. I believe McCants is more of an answer than Gardner. Thrash is already a proven WR as well. As far as Ramsey goes, he is making Rookie mistakes that are just horrible decisions. There is nothing wrong with throwing the ball away!!! The Redskins had so many chances of winning today it was so pathetic! I garuantee ya though, Gibbs will have them playing solid come next week!
|
Coles dropped some big ones. So did Portis. Should we let them go too?
Well said, I can't understand why in the hell is everyone over Gardner like his droped ball is what caused us to loose the game? :nono: Brunell, 2 Portis, 2 Ramesey, 3 Now as I figure this out that comes out to = 7 turnovers, which made us loose the game, not the drop (that could of been a TD) How many points did those turnovers lead too? This game hurt alot because we made the Giants look like a great D-Team, plus we only lost by 6 points and still should of won. I think it was Ramsey who should be the one to blame. He had 3 turnovers, (very dumb one's) and it should of been 5 for him alone, if you count the exchange from the center, and the one at the end of the game (lucky to get those back) :stop: is what we have to do, about blameing 1 person for the loss, because 7 turnovers were cause by the team, not 1 man, we can go on & on who's to blame for the loss, but what I hope is the Redskins don't start pointing fingers at eachother (I don't think gibbs will let that happen) and :grouphug: regroup and take there anger out on dallas on Monday. |
I just think that the Gardner drop was frustrating cause it would have put us to 20-14 and then Ramseys pass to Portis would have been 21-20. Its just frustrating to have first and goal from the 2 and get nothing. Samuels false start on the goal line was just as crutial as Gardners droped ball. Whatever, everyone played like crap.
|
cuz Gardner's consistent drops have us cost us games during his entire career. Portis and Coles havent cost us a game yet, not even this one, they just played their part with the entire offense losing this game.
the whole time i was like ok, 50/50 dropped the last one, he's up for a catch now... that goaline drop was easy, and clutch. and he's a 'possession' receiver? hardly. we have more WRs |
I'm not blaming Gardner for the loss at all. It's the play of the offense TODAY that killed us. However, Gardner has been doing this for a few YEARS now. Enough. Maybe some time as the #3 or #4 will make him hungry for the ball again.
|
Additionally, anyone who has played/coached/watched/eaten nachos at a sporting event that was played this poorly would find the need to make a change (not place blame mind you). Portis had a bad game. So what? He has two 1500 yd seasons under his belt. Brunell/Ramsey...that's the bed we made. But Gardner? There is depth at that postion and they can't possibly ignore this inconsistancy week after week.
|
But Gardner? There is depth at that postion and they can't possibly ignore this inconsistancy week after week.
year after year. dude has small hands or something, its not something you can coach. he's not looking away, he watches the ball bounce off his hands... |
reminds me of watching champ return punts... alright... he fumbled the last one...
and skins1573, ramsey had three really dumb turnovers, but they were all behind the NYG 10yard line... he was actually able to move the ball, so those picks would have a harder time being turned into points (and none were)... brunell and portis both had fumbles near our 20-30yd line :( bad bad place to get hit like that... not that i'm defending anyone, but the blame isn't just on ramsey, or gardner, or anyone, EVERYONE helped us lose that on O... the QBs, portis, gardner, the O line, the playcalling, everyone. |

Like you said no one guy is to blame for the game, it's a team sport, and I just hope we get the offense going for monday night. :thumb: |
I agree that Gardner has to focus more during the game
The only thing Gardner should be focusing on is the BENCH. He has dropped KEY passes CONSISTENTLY throughout his career. |

pretty much agree with all that... also hoping for a quick turn-around... |
As others have said, Gardner isn't responsible for this loss (the entire offense is), but he has proven to be inconsistant his entire career....how else do you get the 50/50 nickname? It's time to give someone else (McCants) a shot to step up.
