Report Card Skins vs Giants

Let's hear your grades for the following units:

Offense:

Defense:

Special Teams:

Coaching:

Feel free to break them down to individual units if you wish.

CRT3 09-19-2004 07:45 PM

O - F (7 turnovers says it all)
D - A Once again except for the long touchdown catch they came to play.
ST - B (Much improved and broke plenty of long runs while coverage units were better)
Coaching ~ D or a C (We Lost) Defensive coaching brings the grade up but offensive takes it down.

MTK 09-19-2004 07:49 PM

Offense: F

Defense: B

Special Teams: B

Coaching: C-

Bozzy 09-19-2004 07:57 PM

Offense F---
Defense B+
Special teams B-
Coaching B+

The coaches didn't let the players give up. Take away the 7 giveaways, and we'd have won big.

Gmanc711 09-19-2004 07:58 PM

O - F. Easy, you pretty much cant get any higher after 4 turnovers, let alone 7.
D - B+. Not as great as last week, but still kept us very much in the game, which is pretty hard to do with the way our offense was.
ST - B. I still get a heart attack every time our kickoff team is out there, but everyone else was pretty good. Halls one FG miss sucked, but I mean it was like 50 yards in the wind and he was hurt.
Coaching - Defense B+. Offense- I'm going to go B. Theres alot of times when it is what the coach is calling, and what they want to do, but seriously ALL of this was on the players today. We had the opprotunitys to make plays in the second half, I thought our offense adjustments at halftime were awsome. We practiaclly scored 3 TD's in the second half, people just dont do their job. Bottom Line.

SmootSmack 09-19-2004 07:59 PM

Offense: F, but only because there is no lower grade. I should give them a G for Gad!

Defense: B+. Kept the team in the game, would have liked to have seen an INT or forced fumble though. A momentum shifter basically. I thought we had one when we stopped them on 4th down

Special Teams: B. Morton was out to prove Monk81 wrong today. That penalty on Molinaro though was painful

Coaching: C. Nothing special, which is disappointing considering the staff

huntz 09-19-2004 08:00 PM

Offense-F (has a Gibbs team ever had 7turnovers in a game?)
Defense-B
Special teams-B
Coaching-B

monk81 09-19-2004 08:04 PM

OFFENSE- F-Too many mistakes, turnovers, non-catches, dropped passes, fumbles, never took advantage of the opportunities...we beat ourselves

DEFENSE-B-started out unaggressive, passive, but gained momentum as we got behind
kept us in the game. Arrington quiet (injury?)....

SPECIAL TEAMS-B Good Improvement especially on kick coverage. Hurt Kicker didn't help our cause.

COACHING STAFF-C (B for special teams/defense, but D for offense)

BossHog 09-19-2004 08:15 PM

Offense D
Defense B
Coaching C-
Special Teams B-

Jamaican'Skin 09-19-2004 08:16 PM

O-- F--- no question about it
D- B+
ST-- B- beacuse Morton looked like he was one block away from a touchdown a couple of times
Coaching-- C- O brought down the D coaching

SUNRA 09-19-2004 08:17 PM

Defense A- Start Sean Taylor and we'll prevent the TD deep in the endzone.

Offense F- They totally forgot about the first drive and how it happened. Stay with the basic running and open it up for the pass.

Special Teams B- Cut down on the penalties. Move James Thrash and Taylor Jacobs for returns. Move Chad Morton to halfback on more plays.

Coaching Staff C- They playcalling was out of sync. When it was 4th and 4. We should have ran the ball to keep the drive going. Instead Ramsey's ball was batted down. Game over. They need to use a little variety to the playcalling and keep the defense off balance.

That Guy 09-19-2004 09:17 PM

defense - okay, offense - OMGWTF, coaching - alright, morton did good today, had a couple really nice returns... too bad one of them got called back... ouch.

Turn Overs (Giveaways) - A+, i don't see how we could of helped the giants anymore than we did...

Bad Decisions - A+, i could go on, no need though

Outlook - hopefully we get it turned around... its just one game, we've got great run D, but our pass defense isn't that good because of our no name DEs and the fact that bowen is a BAD safety to use for coverage...

That Guy 09-19-2004 09:19 PM
Start Sean Taylor and we'll prevent the TD deep in the endzone.
except with sean starting, bowen would still be the SS responsible for that part of the field... didn't walt harris blow his coverage here too? he looked like he ran down the side line after the WR already turned inside...

RedskinRat 09-19-2004 09:23 PM

Defense B+ They looked tight, but not as dominant as last week.

Offense F Coles and Cooley looked OK, Line struggled.

ST C+ Better than the first game, still room to improve

Coaching B- Execution was the issue, not the play calling.

SUNRA, I thought Sean Taylor DID start today?

That Guy 09-19-2004 09:48 PM

gamebook says lott started, sean subbed... sean plays FS though, bowen plays SS... sean wouldn't have been there to break it up.

Daseal 09-19-2004 10:31 PM

Offense: F - Turn the ball over like that and you can't do a damn thing in football.

Defense: A - On the field damn near all day but still had energy and made plays. Greg Williams has this defense poised and ready to attack. Now if only we can have them score some points.

Special Teams B- - They get the most improved grade for the week. Morton made some big returns for us, blocking was better (did anyone see Sean Taylor steamroll 2-3 guys in a huge block?) aggressive. They didn't really get any big returns on us.

Coaching - I have to divide this into two categories.
Offensive Coaching: Gibbs, Bryner, etc - F. No one can put a happy face on this. Anyone who has this type of pathetic performance deserves an F. Three Super-Bowls or not.
Defensive Coaching: B+. They played well, but still had a few break downs in coverage. Want to see some more out of our big name players. Greg Williams certainly the bright spot of our coaching staff this week.

Big C 09-20-2004 02:27 AM

offense- F too many turnovers, couldnt run, dropped passes, gave up sacks

defense- C they played bad one half, when we didnt blitz at all, then the 2nd half they were good

ST- C+ Missed FG's, still gave up long kick returns, but forced a fumble

Coaching- C I thought williams should have blitzed more in the first half

BrunellFan 09-20-2004 11:17 AM

Offense- F (Big Surprise there)

Defense- B (Big TD pass, really needed some more TO's to match then)

ST- B- (Some good returns, but more returns given up and penalties)

Coaching- B+ (Wasnt their fault we lost)

SkinsRock 09-20-2004 12:36 PM

Offense: F (duh)

Defense: B I expected more sacks, but Warner actually did a good job of getting rid of the ball very quickly. He did get rocked a few times right after he threw it though. The TD pass that Bowen got burned on cost them an A.

Special Teams: B- Morton almost broke a couple, but Hall should have made the 41 yarder and he shouldn't have had to make the tackle that re-aggravated his injury.

Coaching B- I expected better adjustments from Gibbs after halftime, but it wasn't really his/their fault....they aren't the ones that turned the ball over.

Grades

I have to include a grade for each of the following:

Turnovers - A How many times do turnovers get the better of you?

Referees - C You hit a few, you miss a few

My visit with the grandbabies - A - Priceless - cut way too short during the 2nd quarter to get home to watch/listen to the Turnovers.

Back to the Future - A - I thought Ram wonderfully re-played OBC's College offense again!

O - C (We did have some first downs, and oh yeah, some yds.)
D - B+
ST - B

Highest grade goes to Turnovers! :dallas:

CrazyCanuck 09-20-2004 05:47 PM

Offense - F - we did move the ball but 7 turnovers says it all.

Defense - B+ - besides causing a TO, stopping the long bomb, and stopping that key 3rd down late in the game, there's not much more we coulda hoped for from the D. They are the bright spot on this team.

Special Teams - B - better coverage, key return when we needed it, forced TO, and better all around play.

Coaching - C - can't blame the coaches for dropped balls, fumbles, and bad decisions. Nevertheless we lost and it was far from a great effort.

Turnover day!
Let's hear your grades for the following units:
This is my Grading:
Offense: How bad can it get! F- They are killing themself and the rest of the team. They are not just putting the D in bad field position but giving up scores! Burnell is old with a weak arm and Ramsey right now dosen't get it. It dosen't look good.

Defense: They had a good day! B Yes there was some break downs but the O put them on the field more then they should have been and left them with short fields.

Special Teams: C the kick teams was a little better.

Coaching: Gibbs keep saying he is still learning being out for so long. Maybe he real is learning????? But I think it is more that the O is still not getting what he wants to do. Can't real say to much against the D!

Feel free to break them down to individual units if you wish.
It was a game we should have won. But the QB spot has to get better if we are going to win this year!

That Guy 09-21-2004 06:04 AM

QB, WR, O-line, maybe play calling need to improve, but i think its doable...
