Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )

Since we are on topic of Giants: Report: Braylon Edwards to the Giants --NFL FanHouse
I don't know if NFL fanhouse is great source but.. |
Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )
Fine. This will give us an early one game lead on the Giants. :)

The same guys report has us playing home vs NYG week 15... again, I dont know how this guy is the only guy on earth that has a teams schedule, so I'm still skeptical.

Yeah, especially if they get the 2008 Edwards rather than the 2007 version. |

Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )
It's an advantage for the Giants to play us early at their place. No wind and U.S Open tennis weather. The only time we've beaten them up there in recent memory was when we played them in December and the weather nullified their passing game. That was in 2006. So the Giants have the league schedule us first the next two years in a row. The Giants always get their way with the league. Like when the league so kindly offered to play the Saints -Giants game, which was suppossed to be in New Orleans, in New York instead, giving the Giants 9 home games that year. Couldn't they have played in Houston or Memphis?

LOL............you have got to be kidding, bring this crap up again?Flash.....if you go back and check the Giants offered to delay that game till another venue could become available, between College ,Pro games and Baseball no they couldn't....the Meadowlands was it and the Saints thought it was better to play then to wait. |
Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )
I'd say it's the Cryboys that get their way with the league. 5 primetime games for a team that missed the playoffs? Give me a break.
|
I'd say it's the Cryboys that get their way with the league. 6 primetime games for a team that missed the playoffs? Give me a break.
And impressively, didn't really make a move to get better.
Keith Brooking will likely be an improvement over Zach Thomas, but Canty's loss is a bigger issue in their front seven. On top of that, Jay Ratliff and DeMarcus Ware both had career years. Roy Williams is somewhere between a mediocre No. 1 receiver, and total trash, depending on who you ask. Any improvement the Cowboys make over next year will have to be with their running game and improved health on the OL. Because across the board, they are not as good as last year otherwise. |
Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )
If we power-ranked the division right now, it would have to be something like:
1) Eagles 2) Redskins 3) Giants 4) Cowboys The Giants, of course, could fill their offensive holes between now and the season. The gap between the Eagles and the Giants isn't very big right now, and no team is likely to win more than 11 games next year. |

Although, I must say that if the team does indeed draft Sanchez and we get rid of Campbell, you can put us in the basement with the Cowpukes. |

I doubt we'd get rid of Campbell even if we brought on Sanchez.
In which case, we might slip behind the Giants if they address their offensive needs while we ran, admirably, in place. We'd most likely just end up with a Brees/Rivers situation on our hands at the end of next year. Except, instead of having perennial pro bowl candidate Phillip Rivers, we'd just have middling Mark Sanchez. |

If we pick Sanchez, I don't see us giving up Campbell unless we are offered draft picks. This will be his second season under the same offense and knowing it better then last yr. I'm sure Zorn will add a few pieces to the puzzle to make the team better. Sanchez would be starting out having to learn the speed of the NFL and all the playcalls. It would be a tall order for Sanchez unless Zorn is going to keep it simple agian. Which you would be right we would be another 8-8 team. Yes we will probably pick best available player but honestly I don't see us taking Sanchez. I believe there are too many other teams out there that absolutly need a QB. I think DS is posturing to make other teams scared and perhaps trade into spots before us to enable other players they would like to get to fall to us or cause one of those desperate teams to contact us with a draft trade offer to get Sanchez giving us more picks. |
Re: Redskins @ Giants to open season (Rumored (with link) )
That will be a way to kick off the season.
As these games with the NFL East rivals are awesome! |

100% correct.. The Fate of the Redskins season rides with Campbell. If we hit the reset button and get rid of Campbell, whoever is brought in has no familiarity with team or playbook. If Campbell does well the team will be above average, if he does not, its basement city... Oh, and also reset button time! |

Philly pretty much dismantled their team outside of Westbrook and McNabb who will likely give up (he said he wanted out if they don't improve the team). |

If we draft Sanchez, Brennan will beat him out as the #1. To quote Colt, "I'm hungry!" |
Haven't you been paying attention? We cut three former pro-bowlers on defense to free up cap room. They lost one.
We just added a high-priced free agent in the process, which should help to close the gap a lot. I also don't think anyone's plan to beat Philly relies on McNabb not caring. That would be a really, really terrible plan, wouldn't you think? |

But I wouldn't expect you to catch that, given your allegiance and all.
