QB Vs. Cow-Whores
I think that we'll have Ramsey ready and able in this one.
Your thoughts? |
I agree Redskinrat. Even though its Monday Night against the Cowboys, we can risk Brunell if hes going to be our starter the whole season. We just cant. I've obviously stated my love for Ramsey, so I'm easily taking him over TH.

Your thoughts?
I betcha there will be Cowboy defenders open on every play |
If Brunell can play, he will start.
If he is too injured to play, Ramsey will start. Here is what you have to hope for in this situation. You do NOT want to see Tom Tupa taking any snaps under center! |
I'm with you 100% on that SportsCurmudgeon.
|
Coach Gibbs said that Ramsey will be ready to go Monday. Let's hope he has a good week at practice and it translates into the game. After hearing some of the players today, I think we will see a much better performance this week......starting with the offense.
|
I'm not sure it is possible to have another week like that. The stars must have been aligned for the Giants. We beat ourselves. Time to play like the Ravens did and just let the defense win while we tweek the offense little by little.
|
I agree, Sports. Brunnell, unless he physically can't go. THen Ramsey. Then yikes.
|
Mark will not be able to go, so it's Ramsey and it's his show. He said in camp he'd be ready when called..so it's time to put up.
|
picked ramsey, cause that's what coach says is going down. I wish him luck and hope he can light it up...
|
Ramsey will start Sunday.
You'll see a different Ramsey. He doesn't want to suck. And Gibbs is too old to put up w/ a QB putting up below mediocre numbers. You won't see 7 turnovers on Monday night. You'll see Patrick Ramsey the hero of the Washington/ Metropolitan area! |
Rams numbers!
Rams numbers are not gaudy! Ranked 17 if he had enough snaps, which he doesn't! But he needs to hand the ball off more, and look for the underneath stuff.
Sunday looked like Ram did a re-take of OBC and the College Offense. Looking deep first, then throwing it while trying to thread a needle, without looking for an 8-10 yd out instead! |
I picked Ramsey, because that what it looks like Gibbs wants to do. It should be Brunell if he's healthy, but I get the impression that Coach Joe may be sort of using this injury as an excuse to get Patrick in there to see if he can spark the offense. On Sunday, he came in trying to win the game, not manage it. I'm very curious to see how he does for a whole game, especially after a week's worth of practice with the first team.

Much as I'd love to see us crush Dallas, if Ramsey starts I'm afraid that won't happen. I just don't see him "morphing" into a competent QB in one week. He's been struggling since last season and continues to struggle now. Add in the added pressure of the Dallas game and playing on Monday night and I'm afraid he will not respond well to the pressure, just as he has not responded well to the pressure of the QB competition in training camp.
I just hope the rest of the offense plays well and that the "D" continues to do so too and that might be enough to offset any mistakes that Ramsey might make. Don't get me wrong - I'd love to see Ramsey play a good, solid game. I just see no reason to expect that, just because we fans so desperately want it to happen. Still, I will be glued to the set on Monday night, wishing for the best, but holding my breath every time Ramsey sets up to throw. |

I was just hoping he has a little more time in this offense, but he's gonna have to learn fast. |
If he beats Dallass he'll be an instant hero, I see no reason after a week with the starting line-up that can't happen.
|

You're absolutely right. And it can happen, he played pretty well against them last year |
This is our biggest game of the year. Monday Night, Under the lights vs Dallas. Were gonna find alot out about Ramsey, assuming he starts. He pretty much has three hours to prove someone right. Either the Ramsey lovers or the Ramsey-skeptics.
|
I think this scenario is very beneficial to us..
The away game is early season--weather wont be cold..we dont play well in the cold historically We are catching you guys early in the season, your offense hasnt jelled, a QB that seems to have little confidence. Add to this last weeks game against Cleveland was a morale booster for our D which was obliterated in week 1 I dont think it's asking much for Ramsey to post better stats than Garcia: Comp- 6 Att- 27 Yds- 71 TD- 0 INT- 3 Passer RTG- 0.0 Well, then again looking at last weeks game.... :D |
last week he had 150yds in one half and a TD, rating of 56.... little better than 71yds and a 0.0...
|
Voted Ramsey, hamstrings tend to be nagging injuries. Brunell's strength is his mobility, if he is immobile or of limited mobility he has less value to the team. To be honest I don't think any of the quaterbacks did a good job of 'managing' the game against the Giants.

QBing this season thus far has really stunk, but i haven't lost hope yet... |
QBing this season thus far has really stunk, but i haven't lost hope yet...
As fans that is all we can do. I really get annoyed at the local media, they love to cook up a quaterback controversy, maybe this goes back to the times of Sonny and Billy Kilmer, which is before my time. But I remember how there was the 'Gus Bus' and so on.
I was glad to see Lavar come out and support Ramsey. Saying how all he was trying to do was make a play and win the game. I'll be honest I like Ramsey, I was not keen on the Brunell signing. If Ramsey can be the QB that he was last year when the team went 3-1, who knows this could become a special season. I just hope he gets his confidence back and lights up the Cowboys. |
I picked Brunell if he is healthy but with a hamstring injury I don't think he will be. I'd love to see Patrick come out and pick the girls apart but he has alot of improvement to do if he'll be able to pull that off. When Brunell got hurt last week I thought we'd be fine with Patrick coming in to relieve him. WRONG!!!
Patrick friggin sucked!!!! As did our entire offense after our super opening drive for a TD. And I'm really worried about Hall too. Have we got a backup to him for this weeks game?? We've gotta do something about all this crap. This is Dallas, We've got to win this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
i actually wasn't too down on ramsey's showing, though it wasn't exactly awe-inspiring...
az - we got kimrin and tupa, both can do FGs... i heard kimrin can kick it over 60yds, though in preseason he just seemed competent on <40yarders and squibbed kickoffs... |
I picked brunnel but I have a feeling his hamstring might take a couple weeks to fully heal. I'm hesitant to put a lot of faith in ramsey right now after his play the past 9-10 monthes but he's in some of the best hands possible and I think gibbs can put together a very solid game plan that will focus on Ramsey's strengths while limiting ramseys areas of weakness. I know the most hopeful thing I can wish for are monster games by Portis, Betts, and Morton.
|
Of course I picked Brunell, But I'm sure it will be Ramsey. I just hope he will get rid of the ball quicker then he has in the past, and also he seems to double pump(because of not sure to throw the ball or not) more often then others. Which causes defense to react to the ball alot faster and break up the pass if not intercept it. But I sure hope for the best, and I will pull for ramsey if he plays, because " I love them Redskins"
|
Hand the ball to Clinton 30-35 times with success and we wont have to worry about who the QB is! Gibbs will not put him in another position to fail. Ramsey will play better and then a QB controversy will arise! Hell, what's a Redskin season without a QB controversy??????
Just hope they can pull one out! |
I think because Ramsey is playing the entire game from the beginning he will be fine.
